The Scarpa ZG Lite GTX are super hiking boots! So comfortable and and with plenty of support for moderate hiking to light backpacking as well as some off trail use. I used to have Merrel Moab Mid, they were comfortable in the beginning but the soles wore our fairly quickly and the Moab did not provide enough arch and heel support at all. The Scarpa ZG Lite GTX provide very solid arch and heel support and the toe box is slightly wide which is perfect for my duck feet and hard to find these days. The Scarpa ZG Lite GTX are just barely heavier than my old Merrel Moab Mid, and I feel the Scarpa have way better ankle support and stability over the foot. The sole is perfect on the Scarpa with the green shock insulating layer above a more rigid Vibram sole you would find on a classic hiking boot so there is plenty of stability with a good amount of cushioning. The Scarpa ZG Lite GTX are very well constructed boots, a modern version of the legendary Italian full leather boot design and made in Romania which is a plus for quality. Size 44 was what I expected for US 10.5 and they were slightly wide in the toes which was perfect for me.

Excellent mid-weight boot.....much better than predecessor in terms of lace-up.. Really like these!
