Comfortable on the feet, however, not waterproof. Proofing them would have to be must, as they are walking shoes.

The boots are very comfortable to walk in and the grip is spot on. I've already had to walk on icy and snowy conditions and the grip is there and not thinking that you'll slip. Also work in and around the Lake District and these boots do grip in mud very well.
