Thank goodness for reviews. I wear an 8 - but got 7 1/2 and yes - it was perfect. I have never purchased Salomon, never heard of it - but looking for a light running/walking shoe - and seeing this one had a nice wide BOX toe - I wanted to try it. I use Planter Fasciitis incerts and they fit perfect in there. These are replacing New Balance. I find these don't slip on the heel which I love. and has a nice round toe box - giving my toes plenty of room and the top doesn't hit my big toe. This is just a new fav. tennis shoe!

The top is mesh and not real supportive. However, the sole is wider than your foot providing a firm foundation to minimize ankle turning. The top will allow air circulation, probably not good in wet environments.

I tried two styles of Salomon shoes for the first time in my recent Zappos order. Thank you to Zappos for allowing me to have a great selection for size 12 women's shoes!!! I don't like to get carried away with superlatives, but this shoe is extremely comfortable out of the box. I usually replace the insoles with an external near orthotic insole or I end up with terrible knee pain, but I have not had to do that with this shoe! An excellent shoe! I have found my new go-to brand! KUDOS

For me the bit of extra length and width is a good thing. I have bunions and a painful little toe, so I love not feeling crowded.

These run a half size large in length and a bit narrow- which is PERFECT for me. I wear a 12 narrow in regular shoes, so I usually need a 12.5-13 narrow in running shoes. Do you know how hard it is to find a 12.5 narrow in anything??? ? Anyway, the Salomon shoes in a 12 medium fit just like a 12.5 narrow. (I also have a pair of Salomon trail running shoes and they are amazing.) The Sonic Ra Max 2 is nice and cushiony but not too soft. I replaced the insole with my trusty Superfeet green insole, but the insole it comes with seemed to offer good arch support on its own. There’s ample room in the toe box even though the instep is probably narrower than you might be used to in a medium width. The tongue is sort of flat and wide and comes up a little high, which I think makes for a better fit, but my irritate the front of your ankle if you wear no-show socks. The styling is not bad and the turquoise color is growing on me.

I ordered based on the brand and color. Originally ordered a women's 8 which is my true foot size. The 8 arrived way too big. I immediately ordered a 7.5 and it fits. I am recently enjoying the Salomon brand which is new to me. These are my 2nd Salomon and they are fine, comfortable for workouts and walking. This brand does provide excellent arch support and they are not a flimsy item!

Despite purchasing this in both wide and medium neither was a comfortable fit. Let me say here I have many foot issues.These are a good quality shoe. Just couldn’t get that feeling as to comfort to justify keeping these. Did not like the color. It was a bit bold for me. I have purchased and returned more shoes then I feel comfortable with. I know there is something out there for me. Zappos allows to me to be so liberal with returns and I can’t thank them enough. What an awesome company. Stay with them they understand not all feet are alike and their patience and understanding shows this..I’m going to keep trying. I’m not a runner just want to walk again without so much pain. Just can't decide about these. The cushion is a pretty perfect balance between plush comfort and energy return. The sole is very stable ... a little stiffer than some but not bad and really keeps your foot from rolling in or out. Great toe room. The styling is "okay" .. nothing great but not hideous. They really help alleviate my foot pain, but the tongue -- ouch. It is a bit long and sticks into the front of my ankle and hurts.

The shoe was comfortable but it felt like it was forcing my foot to pronate and that was not what I wanted.

This is the second pair but different style of Salomon's and this one also feels 1/2 size too large. The tongue also comes up a bit higher than most other shoes of the same type do.

Purchased these to replace older Solomon trail runners. Needed a shoe for gym classes which provide support and allow movement. These fit the bill.
