Way too narrow! I'm not sure why, but the Vapor Glove 3 in the regular material fits great. The cotton ones feel much more narrow. For barefoot shoes, I don't feel like Merrell makes them quite wide enough in the toe box. I would love to see them start offering wide widths in the barefoot styles.

I almost never write online reviews, but feel compelled to pay it forward since I know I’m not the only lady with a very particular taste not only in how shoes look, but increasingly how they fit. Which is to say: these sneakers make me very, very happy, and here’s why, in a nutshell. Increasingly, I can’t tolerate heels. Or, more like - I realize that, in my mid-30s, I want to preserve the function of my feet/spine. (Me a decade ago would laugh at this, of course.) This also goes for sneakers: I spent a good portion of 2018 trying to find a suitable replacement for my beloved Air Pegasus 33’s - mostly, for walking - but no matter what I spent, how thin or thick my socks, and which brand I tried (ASICS, Hoka, Brooks, even Adidas), nothing seemed to offer the expanded toe box and narrow heel my curvy feet need, and Nike has since changed just about everything on the Pegasus, a real shame since for many years, it was a reliable sneaker. I also like to feel “laced” into my shoes - just as true for sandals - and for comparison, appreciate the craftsmanship of Munro, Havianas and Eric Michael (and Ferragamo...but I just don’t go there anymore, sigh). These little Merrells are just about perfect: they hug in the right places, and let go where you want them to. The purple color is cute (note: they are very silver sparkly, something I wish I knew about before I ordered but will live with because the fit is that good), and even though they’re cotton, imagine they’ll be warm enough to get me through a New England fall. My backup sneakers are still those going on 3-year old Nikes (will keep for yard work or the like) and Saucony Bullets, which are also good if you’re into minimalist type footwear, save for the cushioning and narrower shape. I did order these in white, which are cute but look a bit masculine in comparison to the purple. Even though they’re more practical in that they’ll match more clothes, they’re going back. Hopefully this write up helps! Again, if you’re looking to try a barefoot shoe, are picky and also want to keep a bit of flair on your feet, give them a shot. Lord knows it’s taken me many frogs and endless web searches to get here.

These truly fit like a glove. Super comfortable, grippy sole (good for deadlifts), and the cotton version should hold up better than the mesh.

These shoes are so darn cute. I bought the quail which is a lovely mauve pink with just the right amount of sparkle. I have a pair of the Trail Glove 4's which are great for walking and mild hiking but these are even more comfortable. I wore them out dancing right out of the box and felt perfect. I will wear them with capris and maybe even a casual dress.

First of all I love Merrell shoes, and generally buy them. My purchase before this one was more of a hiking boot and I love them, but wanted something a bit lighter. These are GREAT! Like wearing slippers, but with better support. Immediately fit like a glove and no weird rubs anywhere. Big thumbs up!

Love these sneakers. Wore first pair (seed pearl) right out of box & went on vacation.....for someone with bunions & hammertoe it's a miracle to find sneakers to wear constantly with no pain. Was used to very padded sneakers that made my feet swell-these did not. As soon as I came home I ordered another pair in monument color. Love the style too!!!!

I have another pair of Merrill minimalist runners that I based my size off of. Should have gone with my actual show size. I have only been wearing these ones for a week but I really like them so far.

After trying several pairs of the more sporty Merrell Vapor Glove 3s and having them fall apart, I chose to go with this cotton material hoping they will last longer. While I can’t yet comment on the sturdiness of these shoes, I can comment on their look and feel. They fit just like the sportier material, super comfy. I absolutely love the look of this shoe. They are kind of shiny which I love, but they just generally look fierce. Definitely my favorite pair of vapor glove 3s so far!

Very nice shoe. I always wear a 7.5 in Merrell shoes but this style was too short in a 7.5. Not as much arch support as other Merrell shoes. Seems like it would be an excellent barefoot shoe. I returned for a different stlye.

I owned a pair of first gen merrell barefoot shoes and loved them. I love these just as much! They're super comfy, weigh almost nothing, and are stylish (merrell had a phase of some pretty dorky looking barefoot shoes). The tan color has the slightest bit of sparkle in just the right light, which you can't see in the pictures. I highly recommend them! Just note that these aren't going to provide a lot of arch support - and that's the point of barefoot shoes.

I'm so in love with this shoe! It's cute, stylish and comfortable. It's so nice to find shoes that work for wide feet. I was a little hesitant about how the "barefoot" style would feel walking around all day, but I'm not having any problems at all.

I had a pair of Merrill barefoot sneaks that were so tattered that I finally had to throw them away. Sob! These were intended to replace those and so far, after one day of walking in them, I am very happy to say that these are perfect for my feet and just as comfortable as my previous pair. Plus they're cute and a little sparkly, which doesn't show well in the pictures here on Zappos. I got the gray ones. I'll be wearing them alot!

Comfy, light sneakers. Good for travel. Style is a bit funky, but interesting. Not run of the mill sneaks. As with every other pair of Merrel’s I’ve bought (probably a dozen!) the shoe laces just do not stay tied. I don’t have this prob with other brands.

I've had quite a few different pairs of Merrell "gloves" over the years that I loved, and even though I ended up returning these, I actually think they are the best fitting and most comfortable. I just wasn't crazy about the seedpearl color. I was looking more for an everyday type shoe and I just didn't look them nearly as much as I thought I would. I may end up trying one of the other colors.

I got the gray/silver one. And it was more metallic looking than I wanted it to be. Fit was felt a little tighter than the mesh ones.

I wish these were made in wide. The 8.5 feels a little too loose and sloppy, so I have to wear a sock to add a little bulk. The 8 is the right length, but the smaller size feels too narrow. The Quail color is not pink at all, as mentioned in another review. They are 100% pale purple/lavender. And, they are sparkly, which if that's your thing, you'll be delighted by! For me the color feels a little too juvenile so they'll be going back. I'm willing to try the 8.5 with socks in the gym and will post another review if I pull the trigger and have future results.

I went looking for a pair of barefoot shoes after my physical therapist recommended them for me. I have flat feet and according to him, "possibly the weakest feet in the world." After talking with a few friends and doing quite a bit of research, I landed on this specfic brand and model. I needed a pair of barefoot shoes that were reasonably priced and reviewed well. At first I was unsure of how they would help my feet, but day 1 of wearing them I noticed way less pain in my feet at the end of the day vs. standing in regular sneakers/trainers (I stand all day for work). I also notice I am more mindful of how I stand when I am wearing them and feel they will help my feet get stronger. The only downside for me is that they look a little like clown shoes. I ended up on the cotton version because I didn't want a bright color or funky pattern. I also felt the leather version of this model would of been too hot. I don't mind the shiny silver ones that I chose.

These shoes replace a pair that traveled the world w/ me for 4.5 months. Immediately comfortable out of the box (accommodated my arch support w/o problem. Love the fabric - light and easy

Look a lot like vans/skater shoes. THey are ok- just found a better alternative/color with more support.

Attractive shoe but feels more like a slipper than a shoe -- disappointed (for Merrell especially) that there is zero arch support.

Feel great but the rounded toe and narrow heel looked clownish to me. Nice silver color. I wear a 9.5 size so maybe that is why it looked clownish on me. I'm returning.

Very attractive shoe, great barefoot feel and nice insole/outsole combination, however, what is with the hard rubber over the big toe? This negates the wide toe box and comfort of the shoe -- I returned these ASAP.
