The shoe is very good looking but there is no padding at the heel to help support the foot. I have narrow heels so they slipped up and down with the few steps I took before I know I couldn't keep them. All of the walking shoes I have ever owned have had some padding at the heel so I was surprised when I saw the shoes. Take a good look at the pictures of the shoe before you order them so you can see what I am talking about. If you need some padding at the heel, these are not for you regardless of how good looking they are.

I love the style and fit BUT...They're HOT. 5 minutes on, in the house, they began heating up. I don't know what the fabric is. It just says recycled materials. That could be anything. I had the same problem with this brand several years ago. I thought I'd give them another try. NOPE, HOT!

I wear a 7 1/2 in normal shoes but always size up to an 8 in a sneaker. I ordered both sizes based on reviews, but the 8 fit better and since my old Merrill's were an 8 that made sense. I ordered the taupe color figuring that would blend with most clothing. I ordered these for an upcoming trip to Portugal. My daughter who lives in Lisbon tells me most young women wear sneakers with all types of clothing. My other shoes I will be taking along are a pair of Teva sandals in black and a pair of flip flops. I am trying to pack lightly.

These shoes are very comfortable and lightweight. I was looking for shoes for an upcoming Europe vacation involving a lot of walking. Also, was looking for a sneaker that was stylish and not bulky. I found them!

This is my 2nd pair of Merrell Gridway Lace Ups. I wore my first pair in hot, sultry Sicily last summer & my feet were comfy & cool. Had to get a 2nd pair as backup! Love these shoes.

Love this shoe! ordered two colors --perfect fit and what comfort ! I also think they are quite stylish with the leather trim.

I absolutely love these shoes, but they are cut too narrow for my foot. I wish Merrell had more Wides!!!

Very comfortable and true to size (8.5 M). Was looking for a nice casual sneaker that wasn't too sporty or gaudy, these are just right. Brindle is a nice neutral color, blends with browns, grays, blues.

These shoes are fabulous! Needed something for work after knee surgery. I wear them w/ everything. Have gotten lots of compliments. They are very lightweight and comfortable. I'm thinking of getting another color. I could probably wear "regular" shoes now but I just keep wearing these everyday.

I wear an 81/2 in most shoes, 9 in tennis shoes, and an 8 in these. They are cute,, comfy, and airy. My vionic inserts fit right in. I rated them “4” in comfort because the heels are just a little loose if I wear only a thin “footie”. Not a biggy- I enjoy wearing them and they’re perfect for spring!
