I bought these boots for walking the dog in the cold, wet days of winter. I like that they are light weight and classically styled. There’s not a lot of arch support, but I use an orthotic insert so that was OK. If I had know before buying these that this boot came in a waterproof version, I probably would have paid the extra $20 for the waterproofed ones. But I sprayed these with silicone spray to make them water-resistant and that should be sufficient for my needs. These boots run a little large. I usually wear a 9.5 or 10, and this boot in a 9.5 is a little too big with my medium weight wool socks. Overall, I like this boot, but I don’t love it. And I don’t think that the build quality justifies the high price.

These hiking boots were exactly what I was looking for. I ordered 5 pair of different brands, and besides these Merrells, the others were all SO clunky and big. When I'm climbing mountain trails and hiking up rocks I want something flexible that I can move easily in, and that will also work for simple flat trails or street walking. These totally fit the bill. They are very comfortable and unlike many reviewers, I found the width fine for my wide foot - no rubbing or blisters here. I took these hiking in the NC mountains on some strenuous rocky trails and was super impressed with the grip of these shoes. I have always been a fan of Merrell's barefoot runners and trail gloves because of the low profile gripping and minimalism, and these carry over that same feel. If you like hiking boots that don't feel like giant blocks on your feet, you'll probably love these.

This is a beautiful shoe. I got the brown, and the leather is a beautiful shade and is soft. The shoe came with both yellow and brown laces, which was great! I was worried that they might look too chunky on me, but they don't - they look quite sleek, despite being hiking boots. I'll be able to wear them with skirts and dresses, as well as pants. I wore them right out of the box, and they were very comfortable. No breaking in required, and the base is very sturdy and great for walking around. I ordered half a size up, to wear thick socks in the winter, and I probably didn't need to because they are a little big. Not so big that I can't wear them (it doesn't matter so much for boots) but I could have worn my regular size comfortably.

These were much too narrow for my feet, but otherwise really comfortable in a nicely cushioned sole and overall inside of boot. Just much too narrow for my feet.

I really wanted to like these boots. Had all what I had been looking for but the 9 1/2 was too long and the 9 was too narrow for my foot. Had to return.

I was disappointed in this boot. I have old feet troubled with arthritis pain and had hoped these would be comfy for light hiking. I have worn them for parts of two days and they are not doing the job for me. They seem to have stretched and do not give the support I need. They also are made of apparently synthetic material. One reason I chose them is that there are no seams over the toe areas, and that's a positive.

Love how light they are, and the insert. The toe box is way too narrow - the heel is fine. Toes need to spread out when walking or your toe nails will be damaged over time. For me the heel felt lower than the rest of the shoe - which I hate - it might be that the heel is the same height and the arch hit me in the wrong place which gave me this feeling - either way I do not like it. All my sneakers have some small height difference between the heel and the toe. I have not worn any womens dress shoes in 15 years so I am not comparing to them. If you have narrow toes and do not mind the heel being lower than the toes, you might love this boot.

These Merrell boots are exactly what I've been looking for - comfy, soft but sturdy, good quality leather, light, water proof, and stylish. And I'm very hard to please as far as boots or any shoes, because I have long, flat, narrow feet. First I bought them in brown, and I felt in love with them, so I bought the second pair in black. They look sporty elegant and they don't make my feet looking big at all, which is my usual problem. The brown ones will ne more for the mountains, and the black ones for casual use. Breaking them in takes about an hour. I highly recommend them for people with narrow feet.

Oh how I wish I loved these. They look really nice on but they will be a little too narrow for me for long hikes, which is what I got them for. If I was only going to wear them around town they would be fine. The length is true to size, if not a little long, but the width is slightly narrow. I have an average to wide foot for reference. These Merrells are light weight, have decent arch support and are flexible. The bottom padding isn’t bad though I have problems with the ball of my foot and would have liked a little more padding. Overall these are a nice boot and I wish they worked for me.

Love these shoes. I thought they'd be less hot to wear than the waterproof version, and they are, but I think they still might be to hot for me outside of winter time use.

I've only walked around the house in them so far. They look sleek and not bulky. I like the way they look. They are comfortable but it's hard to say I love the fit since I've been wearing nothing but slip on Ugg style boots for the past few weeks. I believe I am going to like them!
