I really wanted to love these, they seemed so much more supportive and functional than the popular alternativebut man do these chafe! Even wearing them with a pair of wool socks, I still managed to get hot spots everywhere. I know I could probably stick with it and break them in, but not worth it for me. Great idea for a shoe, just too uncomfortable!

Comfortable at first, but ended up chafing both ankles

I thought these shoes looked awesome and thought they were very comfortable after trying them on at the store. The salesperson told me to buy one size smaller than what I usually wear so I did and they fit great. I wear these with socks because it amplifies the cushioning. After wearing them for less than a month, I found out the soles wear out pretty quickly. Also, they are NOT good at all for walking anything other than short distances. I took my dog for a walk in the park and the back piece of the shoe that wraps up and around the heel dug into the back of my foot and made me bleed my own blood.

I love a Merrel shoes however with this one I have a one problem, wipes heels on a walk on the beach.

I expected these to run big after reading the reviews. What was not expected is the color. I ordered Amethyst and received Amethyst/Lilac. The picture on the website looks like Amethyst and white. Not excited about the color, but since these are "muck around the house and yard" shoes, I'm not sure it's worth the effort of returning.

Got the 9 which is way too big. Got the 8 and my toes hit the front. Learned not to buy shoe's online anymore. If these happen to fit you (as the pair gifted to my daughter-in-law), these shoes are great. So wish I could get a pair that fit.

These shoes come in nifty colors. I looked forward to receiving them. However, they were much too big when they arrived. I returned them.

I wear a size 11 running shoe and had read the reviews of them running large but went ahead and ordered 11 anyway because people who wear half sizes ended up ordering down. I thought they were a bit too large so also ordered the 10s to compare and would send back the ones that didn't fit. Well, the 10s were a bit too small...my toe was right to the edge. I really, really wanted them to work because I loved them but I was afraid the 11s would slip off if I were walking in water or stuck in mud so I ended up returning both. If they were a bit narrower I think I could have gotten by with the 11s but it was not to be. I'm bummed. I need a between size!

These are so huge, they feel at least 2 sizes too big. They don't even touch the tops of my feet, and I have over an inch of room in the front. I can't see how these could possibly even function. They're pretty much unusable because of the poor sizing, which is a shame because I was really hoping they would be my go-to beach and water mucking-around shoes this summer. I can't size down because I'm already a size 5. Every other size 5 I've ever worn from Merrell fits perfectly, so this was a disappointing surprise.

I read all the reviews and recommendations to size down if you wear a half-size but what does that mean if you wear a full size? I wear a 9 and wasn't sure so I ordered an 8. They fit but I can see what some other reviewers say about the arch placement being awkward. At first, I thought I would send them back but after about 20 minutes, they felt okay. I won't be wearing them for more than a couple hours at a time so they will do. I ordered the coral and the color is a lot prettier in person than online.

This is a extremely comfortable shoe. I am disappointed at how fast the sole wore down.

I bought this water shoe for a cruise I went on where there would be very rocky terrain on the beach and water shoes were recommended. I usually wear a 7 1/2 in a sneaker so I ordered the 7 and it fit well. Was very comfortable walking to the beach. Sand got inside the shoe from walking in the water and the walk back to the ship caused scrapes on my heels. My husband had the same men's water shoe and had no problems. We both sized down a half size from our regular shoe size.

I have narrow feet. These sandals rub and cause blisters.

I was so disappointed by the color of these hydro mocs. I was excited for a bright peach/melon, and they ended up being more of a salmon color. They are extremely comfortable, I was just disappointed by the color.

Bought for a beach excursion on a cruise for myself and husband. I had open blisters on both ankles less than an hour after putting them on. My husband got open blisters as soon as his feet got wet. We had to purchase bandaids in a foreign tourist attraction and I would have given my last penny at that point. I'm glad to see that I am not the only one in these reviews that had this problem. In hindsight I really wish I had done more due diligence to begin with. Will never wear without socks again.

I was very excited to wear such a cute/different shoe to the lake/beach. However, so much sand would settle in the front of the shoe that my toes would hurt and I had to stop so many times to empty. Perhaps if there were holes all the way to the toes the sand wouldn't get trapped under the toes.

I have a love hate relationship with these. Pros. Once you break them in, they are so comfy. Cons. The tiniest bit of sand on the heal will cause major rubbing. Wading in a river/lake? The rocks and sand will go in but until you remove the shoe they will not come out. Any wet sand will also rub you like crazy. They can also be really hard to pull off when they are wet, there is some suction that you have to fight. Lastly, walking on sandy dry surfaces or fields with weeds will keep you busy emptying all the bits that you pick up. I will not be buying these again. It's such a shame as they are expensive and I feel like I havent got my monies worth.

I bought these as water shoes to get into water when terrain is tricky. They are excellent for that. However, I was hoping they'd be less sweaty when you are not in the water but unfortunately for me they are a bit too sweaty to work as an all-round shoe. My Teva which these are replacing were better at that.

Very comfortable shoe, dries quickly, no squeaking

I wanted to love these. I deploy frequently and wanted something that allowed me to walk over the rocks. Crocs are too wide for my narrow feet so these seemed like a great option. Unfortunately, each shoe of the pair I received seems to be different. The top edge of the back rubs significantly, only on my right Achilles, leaving a huge sore that is now bothered by other shoes. No matter how much I bend it back it continues to cut into the back of my ankle. Also, they do not mold to your feet at all. I've tried them with and without socks and they continue to rub in several places. Usually love all my Merrells but these were a big swing and a miss for my narrow feet.
