Great ground feel. They can handle moderate trails and even gravel as long as it's tight compacted gravel. If it's loosely spaced gravel, it's going to be painful as they truly have a barefoot feel. Durability seems to be better with this than previous models. These ran true to size for me.

My go to shoes for every day. Running is comfortable with a good amount of road feel without bulk or restrictions. They dry pretty quickly when I jump into a bog on the trail.

Shoe works great for walking and running, feels like walking barefeet

I can wear them all day at work. I feel great at the end of the day. Very comfortable.

For real if there was a cold weather version of this shoe I would wear that since New England winter is the only thing that prevents from wearing them year round. If sneakers were acceptable as a part of a professional outfit, I would wear them daily to work too. This is the at least the third pair I've bought even though my last pair isn't worn out yet. I wear them not just to run but to walk around all day on concrete. The sole takes forever to wear out, I think my oldest pair lasted a little over 2.5 years of 9 months/year, daily and day long wear walking around on concrete. For a sole that's only a few millimeters of thickness that's impressive. My feet feel great at the end of the day, with or without socks. They're so airy and light but provide just enough protection from rough ground. I wear them straight into rivers and can walk around afterward comfortably without worrying about the shoe being wrecked. I walked 5 miles on concrete in them yesterday and they're brilliant. As long as Merrell keeps making these I'm going to keep getting them.

At first was not sure to go all barefoot... used to run in trailgloves shoes. But I do not regret my choice !!! Incredible a must buy for a true barefoot experience!!

Summary: I really like this shoe. Will update on durability. Details: I was looking for a minimalist shoe to do a number of things in, mostly workout, but also all around use when I needed something more than a flip flop but less than a full shoe such as light hiking or athletic activities. Although I was not planning in regular use in water, I desired something that would dry quickly if it became wet or had to be used in water unplanned. I did not like the construction of most of the water shoes, they were too rubbery and warm causing the foot to sweat. I needed something with zero drop for squatting and other training. Like: Wearing the shoe is like going barefoot but with protection, it is light and I can feel the ground without hurting my foot from stepping on something pointed, hard, etc. Material, not cotton but feels like cotton, does not make my feet overheat or sweat, but will breath and dry out quickly. Grip, cleats are big enough to provide proper traction when needed but not too big to interfere with training, squating or wearing for other normal activities. So far, this seems to be the perfect shoe based on what I was looking for. Dislike: The shoe ran a little large, I wear a size 10 but the 10 was too large and I exchanged for a 9.5 which fit well. Exchange process was easy. I do not particularly like the color swirl and would prefer a solid color i.e. straight black or blue. Open: Durability, at this point I have been wearing these shoes for about 6 weeks, so I have yet to see how well they will hold up. I have read a few past reports about the earlier versions of this shoe wearing out quickly and will update this review with photos in 6 to 9 months as based on indoor use only, the shoe is still relatively new at this time.

I've had them for 3 weeks now. I use them for powerlifting and hiking. The feeling of being connected to the ground is priceless. My posture is better even when simply walking. Hope they're gonna last long enough,

This is the sixth pair of Merrells I have owned and I am pleased more than ever with this new edition of the Vapor Glove. I've previously owned both Trail and Vapor Gloves and this pair might be my favourite. As a movement coach and physical recovery specialist, I actually use this pair almost exclusively inside. I was very happy to feel how much detail I get from the floor through the shoe and it has helped me in both my own training (strength and movement based) as well as while simply wearing them and coaching my clients. They have also been a great tool for spaces where I want to train barefoot but floor conditions might not be ideal for that.

I hike with these shoes it almost like being barefoot

This is my third pair of vapor gloves along with an equal number of trail gloves. The most practical running shoes once your stride and foot musculature have adequately adapted.

Good minimalist running shoe. Perfect for paved trails, grass or dirt. Can run on gravel roads but have to be careful. My feet trace out at 27 cm and the size 9 or 27 cm fits perfectly. Shoes are well built and laces have some elasticity. The tongue length barely long enough if you lace lock using the top eyes. Really happy with these zero drop "barefoot" shoes.

I have been wearing Vapor Gloves for tarmac running for the past few years. The previous models commonly had wear and breakdown of the upper materials. The updated upper material on this model seems much more durable. Great job Merrell. Please keep these coming!

I ordered these to replace my pair of Vapor Glove 3's. When I received them in the mail, which surprisingly arrived within 1 day, I noticed they looked bigger. I checked and they were the correct size that I ordered. However they are about a half size longer than my older pair. I am returning the pair to order a half size smaller. Hopefully those fit right, otherwise I'll have to go a full size lower. Regardless, the Vapor Gloves 3 are the most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever owned. High hopes for this next model!

I have been wearing vapor glove shoes for several years, and I buy at least three pairs every year. Good for workout. The colors are nice, I wear them to work too. Will keep buying them as long as they still make them.

Liked the 3s love the 4s , little more grip and thicker sole, cool colors, wear size 11 med in almost all running shoes and 11m fits perfect in this pair as well. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars was this particular pair when worn with no socks gave me a hot spot from the inside seam wear the tongue meets the top of the shoe. Not any problem as long as I wear socks. Overall great shoe .

Ive only logged 40 miles with my new vapor gloves, as I normally run in Altras. these shoes have been great so far, feel great, and offer great grip , even when it rains. I might make another review at both 200 and 500 mile increments if they hold together, maybe even at a 1000 miles. the "cushioning" is so small that there really isn't anything to wear out besides the upper portion of the shoe.

the barefoot shoe is great for lifting. it takes some getting used to because you're not walking with support. However these shoes give a very natural feel to your step and stance. they run slightly large so order a half size down. I'm a 10.5 and these have about an extra half inch of space from my big toe to the end of the shoe. Not enough to be a complaint or disadvantage, but enough to make note of.

I use these shoes for work in warehouse. I like that they feel like going barefoot with a pad on bottom. You will feel things you step on more than shoes with cushion.

Was surprised with feel and confort and they fit perfectly. Thought I would need to "break then in" but pleasantly surprised by how well design and comfortable they are. Width is perfect since my feet are wide. Will highly recommend!

Was looking for a minimal trainer. Stoked on the feel and look. will definitely purchase again. Looking forward to trying the Vapor Glove 3. for urban wear

so the shoe is really nice firm and just a flat out good shoe but, over the course of like a month the bottom of the shoe wore down to like nothing

The vapor glove 4 is about a half-size larger than normal. Adust your order size accordingly.
