I am an old Altra wearer. I started wearing this brand when they had about 2 styles and 2 ugly colors. I had gotten away from them in the last year or so because of the many changes they have made. First off they discontinued my all time favorite shoe and have stated making the toe box smaller on other models. I have gone to Topo Athletics and love the fit, but the road shoe has a short life span. I ordered these in a 9.5, I usually wear a 9, but I know Altra has made changes and so I order larger. On my first trip out I walked about 7.5 miles on mostly sidewalks and asphalt. They will be a good fit.

This is a great-looking shoe but was quite snug and much narrower overall than expected. I found the internal sock uncomfortable around my ankle, it seemed like it would trap a lot of heat and it left no room for an actual sock of any kind. These may work well for someone with a very skinny and low volume foot but are not a good option if you prefer some breathing room. Returned these and kept the Altra Superior 4.0, which fit beautifully.

These are my new favorite Altras. Took them for a run today and got a PR. They are so light and fit so well and comfortable around the ankle. LOVE!

Loved the shoe. But returned to order half size larger. So great for a narrow heel but wider forefoot

I bought these for my girlfriend and she absolutely loves them. I wear Altra shoes as well and this is why I recommended the brand to her. We are both runners. These are excellent shoes, but she did notice that the sole does seem to wear quite faster than my shoes. Other than that, the shoes are great. She's worn these shoes for about 100 miles and still loves them so I decided to order two more pairs for the holidays. She will be thrilled.

Marathoner and full distance triathlete. I developed a preference for 0 drop shoes pretty early on and have run in Merrels for years but as the distance increased I realized the cushioning in my Merrels just wasn't cutting it. Had tried a pair of Altra Torrin but they were a touch on the heavy side. Was considering the escalante when these got released and found a store to try both on. It was love at first step. To me it felt like the Kayenta is a little more flexible than the Escalante so I suppose that's a personal preference but these are definitely an awesome distance running shoe. I'm on my second pair (soon to be third) and have run 4 marathons...plus all the training in these shoes. The one thing I would LOVE to see is more of a color selection, like the escalantes.

This is my first pair of Altras. I am in love! The roomy toe area solved a big problem for me- a second time that's slightly longer than my big toe. All the shoes I've run in previously agitated this. Also, I no longer need to keep my toe nails cut to the quick in order to avoid bruising and ingrown nails. The sock liner is great for keeping trail debris out and makes the show feel really secure. It's easy to get in and out of. The arch support is perfect, unlike other lightweight shoes I've tried. And these are lightweight and don't have a lot of excess sole, which I find gets in the way. This shoe is the perfect minimalist shoe. Lastly, I run both trail and road and these shoes are great on both! I will be buying more!!!

I love this shoe. My feet have never felt better. I do get a little concerned when I see puddles or have to walk through wet soggy grass. I have learned to carry my shoes to the start line. I wear flip flops and put my shoes on before the start. I just recently ran the extremely wet MCM. There were deep puddles, and water flowing down the street. Although my feet got soaked (as did everyones) I feel the Kayentas allowed the water to escape more quickly than my running partners shoes. In the end the sun came out . My feet were still damp but not slushy like those around me. Also this is the first marathon I have run without getting black toe nails. I will probably have to switch to a different shoe for outdoor winter running. I will still wear my Kayentas indoors.

I've found the Holy Grail of triathlon shoes. With the sock liner, this shoe fits snuggly and causes NO blisters or hot spots when wearing without socks. With the holes in the sole, it's perfect for drainage as you're dumping water over yourself during races to stay cool. Just swap out the laces with elastic or speed laces and you're set. Only suggested improvement would be to make the loop at the back of the shoe large enough to put a finger through so it's easier to slip these on during transition.

My first pair of Altra's...I absolutely love them. Most comfortable shoes I own! Comfortable right out of the box. After a 10.5 mile hike, my feet and legs were not sore. I do have narrow feet, so I wore a sock with them. And they fit perfect.

I love these shoes! The tongue on many shoes I've worn moves around causing discomfort if not pain. These shoes hug my feet, move comfortably, and naturally during my runs,

Went 9.5 miles in these straight out of the box. I couldn't believe how comfortable and light weight they are. My new perfect shoe for everything but trails as the soles may slip on loose ground and rock. I like to hike mountains and these would be very comfortable but tread is slightly minimal for off-road.

Love the one piece interior and the neoprene lining. The shoe feels super lightweight and is perfect to take on the track for some speedwork and then directly to the road. I've even used this for cross training and it works perfectly except that the upper could use a bit more stability for lateral movement. I'll stick with my Solstice for gym workouts. Other than that, I love the feel of this shoe and looking to stock up on more pairs!

I just bought these about a month ago and did and ironman 70.3 with them last week. This is my first time running on a zero shoe. It took me about 2 weeks to get used to them and now I have no calf pain/cramping. I have plantar fasciitis and my feet have hurt all the time until I've started running in these shoes! I love the sock-one piece thing. Very comfortable. I have run on about every brand of running shoe out there and these are the best ever!!

These are the reason I can keep going on my daily runs. These shoes are so incredibly comfortable, I am never in pain. They're light, breathable, flexible, and the toe box is wide. Your toes don't feel cramped and the foot moves as it should in the shoe.

I LOVE THESE SHOES! I'm a stylist and stand around 11hrs a day. Trying to find good workout shoes is a real chore. I put these shoes on for an Orange theory class today and they were amazing. No joke my favorite work out shoes ever!!!

Tried Torin, Escalante and Paradigm. Paradigm worked well for my overpronation but felt heavy, wanted something lighter. So far this has worked well with a brace for me, training for a longer run.

I was a huge fan of the Escalantes after never really finding a replacement for the One 2.5 models. This shoe definitely fills that gap I've been looking for! I really like using them for speed work or longer runs and they feel stable enough to use for cross training workouts. Definitely stocking up on these!

One of the best running shoes Altra has on the market right now. I would say the feel is between an Escalante and the Intuition (older versions). It is resposive and fits like a shoe should around the feet. The shoe has good support around the arches with it being a neutral shoe. Best one yet! Don't change a thing, Altra.
