Great shoe and looks nice. Color is great. Sturdy shoe with a very heavy tread. I thought they were a bit more narrow than my previous pair of La Sportiva and the toe box doesn't have as much room.

Narrow heels, wide toes (Hobbit like,I guess...), but these boots solved all problems. Wide toe box, could tighten up enough to keep heels secure - nice and stable on melting snow/ice and deep muddy patches of trail...and waterproof, too. Comfortable out of the box. One happy camper...!

For me, there's not a better shoe made anywhere! These take me up and down mountains, over rocks with no problem, and on any trail with the possible exception of an ice trail. The shoes have been very instrumental in preventing falls and injury for me because of their stability and fabulous rock plate. They are super durable and stand up to almost anything, including some water because they're gore-tex. If this is not enough, these shoes are the single, most comfortable shoes, I own. I try not to wear them regularly because I want to preserve them for Trails and hills, but if I had my druthers I would wear them every day of the week anywhere I went because the comfort level is as high as it goes for me. My only concern about the issues is that they will someday stop making them. Please La Sportiva, never stop making these shoes!

This shoe looks like it would wear very well. However, it is heavy for a travel hiking shoe and looks pretty clunky.

I worse the Spire GTX on a trip trekking around Wyoming's Bighorn Mountains, with lots of talus and uneven terrain. These shoes kept my feet happy the whole trip - they're so comfortable, and I didn't have to worry about getting my feet soaked in a storm or when crossing shallow streams. Great support, but still lightweight.

Wonderful hikers. Good fit, highly recommend. The waterproof didn't meet standard.

The Spire sizes larger than the Bushido. I wear a 40.5 in Bushido and probably need a 40 in the Spire. I thought it would work with winter socks, but it was still too big. They seem like great shoes and are comfortable, but too big to actually wear. I will try again to get better sizing.

La Sportiva makes the best shoes and boots for hiking. Comfortable from the get go and they last FOREVER. I have 3 pairs and after 5 years of heavy use they barely show any wear. Expensive yes, but the cost per wear is worth it. I don't even bother trying other shoes anymore.

I am a USPS city mail carrier with a 12 mile walking route. I've been wearing Hokas for my non-winter shoe for the last 4 years, until they changed their entire line up. I have several feet problems including high arches, plantar fasciitis and Morton's Neuroma. I also wear custom orthotics. Comfort and stability are key. After reading a lot of reviews from people with similar foot issues, and the absolutely stellar reviews from Outdoor Gear Lab I had to try them. They were a bit stiff, and took about a day and a half to break in. They are absolutely fantastic to wear when its raining, a bit stuffy but if that's what it t asked to keep my feet dry them so be it. I love them them. No blisters, no additional issues. I can do my entire route and not feel like my feet are falling apart.

Bought these recently for some hiking in the Collegiate peaks - some really rocky and steep trails. Shoes hugged the path and I really did not even feel like I was wearing shoes. Great arch support (which I need for my hips!). This brand was recommended by my son who lives in Littleton, CO.

I bought these shoes about a month ago and have worn them on a 15 mile hike, summited two 13ers in them and done other various day hikes. I have a bunion on my left foot and these are the first shoes I have ever found that do not irritate it or make it hurt worse. Also have gotten zero blisters in these shoes. I am in love with these hikers. They are so comfortable and durable and they have helped me to enjoy hiking again due to my feet problems. I typically wear a 7.5-8 in women's shoes and have these in a 39.

I love La Sportiva Shoes. I had a pair of low "hiker" type shoes just like the Spire GTX (former version) and they were AMAZING. I hiked all over Chile last summer to see the total solar eclipse in those La Sportiva shoes. They are over a year old, were worn all around the dusty Atacama desert and they still look practically new! I just had to get another pair of La Sportiva because my feet love them so much. For women who have average to wider feet, these are an excellent, supportive athletic shoe option. If you want THE BEST in active-person shoes (hiking, biking, running, climbing), La Sportiva is worth every penny!

Wonderful hiking shoe. Immediately comfortable, very light yet supportive. I ordered 1/2 size down from my usual 9 and they fit perfectly. Good looking too. Love them!

These are great shoes! I have used them for 9 months and they are incredibly comfortable. I mostly wear them for day hikes and trail running. They are perfect for travel. I took them to Ireland and they were light weight for packing and waterproof for a rainy climate. I live where we get some snow in the winter and the grid on the base of the shoe works well in snow. This shoe has shined in every use. Thanks La Sportiva.

I had the Primer before and love those, but this is a nice replacement. The colors are great, very versatile - a dressy hiking shoe. Love the fit - all day comfort

I love La Sportiva and own two pairs of Bushidos and wanted some waterproof shoes to walk neighborhood streets and rough trails. I had read that the sizing differed from other La Sportiva so I got these in 3 sizes--9.5, 9.5+, 10--thinking one pair would surely fit, but none do. They run smaller than the Bushidos, where I wear a 42. Here the 41--9.5--was the right length but I can't get them to snug up enough to keep my foot from sliding forward and to keep the heel from rubbing. Also the outside is cut a tad high so it rubs the bottom of my ankles. Could not make them work with or without orthotics and am so disappointed.

I LOVE La Sportiva brand and I love the look of these shoes, black and turquoise rather than "girly" colors in odd combinations. I have 2 pairs of Bushidos and wanted some waterproof shoes I could walk in on neighborhood streets and rough trails. I wanted these to be those shoes so much that I ordered them in 3 sizes--41, 41+, 42 to be sure one would fit. None do. These run a full size shorter than the Bushido. I wear a 42 in Bushido II and the 41 in these is the right length but I can't get them to snug up in the heel enough to keep my foot from sliding forward or to avoid rubbing at the heel that will cause a blister. Also, they are cut a tad high on the outside and rub the bottom of my ankles. I am most dissappointed to have to return them.

These are really cute. However, I cannot wear them. The toe area was not wide enough for me. when walking I felt I was slipping forward in the shoe. The tongue of the shoes cut into the top of my feet. The laces were slippery. Now, I need a shoe with a narrow heel and wide toe area. So this should definitely fit someone with more "normal feet". The soles are definitely grippy!

I have plantar fasciitis and these were recommended to me. Fantastic. Something about the soles that I can walk/hike in these and not other brands. However, I also have a bunion that is getting worse. Desperate for WIDE sizes.

I have two other pairs of La Sportiva hiking boots so I like the brand. I just could not get these to feel comfortable after testing them for a couple of days. I really wanted them to work and made all kinds of adjustments ie. lacing them at different points, adjusting the tongue, changing the insoles. The primary problem was the top lace hole section rubbed my lower ankle to the point of creating a read sore. 2nd problem, before I changed the insoles, my feet ached after a few hours walking around the house. Unfortunately, I'm returning them.

I was excited about this shoe and after five day hikes ranging from 5-10 miles, I've concluded this shoe is not for me. What's working: 1) The traction is great; 2) waterproof feature also works great; 3) my feet don't overheat. What's not working: 1) The shoe is very wide and this combined with seeming bigger than the standard European 40 means my feet move around a lot in the shoe. It's uncomfortable. 2) What I found most annoying is the side of the shoe is too high and constantly rubs against my ankle bone. After a 10-mile hike yesterday, both my ankle bones are red and the skin has rubbed off of them. I was unable to wear the shoe for a shorter hike this morning. Overall, I'd return these if I could. They are too uncomfortable for my feet.
