A good no frills duffle, perfect for weekend getaway, as well as short business trips as a carry-on. Good capacity for short trips (50L). Interior compartments or mesh pockets would have been nice but nothing packing cubes can't solve. The side pouch with shoe sleeve is a nice feature.

This is an absolutely tremendous bag! The only thing that I would change is having the straps that are meant to go around your shoulder to make the bag fit like a backpack be separated and connected to two different clips. The straps actually converge and connect to only one clip.

This duffel a lot more space than one might think. You can fit everything you could possibly need. The only down side is that the backpack straps do not have a comfort layer to them.

Love the bag itself, quality construction and a low key, classic look. The problem is the single point strap connection of the back straps. When I bought this bag the photo showed two point connection for the shoulder/back straps - this was a big part of why I bought it. I lost the receipt after it arrived and figured the single point strap wouldn't be bad. I was wrong, I've come to hate the straps. I'm now in the market for a new bag.

Great looking bag but Straps are different from image. I Was planning on taking it to the Grand Canyon but decided to take my base camp duffel and recon backpack instead.

The bag itself is probably 5 stars - subtle style and good materials with plenty of space for a 7-10 day trip. The backpack straps on the other hand are easily 0 stars. Very uncomfortable, easily twisted, and the single connection point on the top make the bag sit comically bad on your back. Don't know why they moved away from two individual straps as seen in the pictures, but it ruins what would be a perfect bag. If I can't hack together different straps I'll have to ditch it, which is a shame.

Just wanted to add my review to the others who have mentioned that the backpack straps are not as pictured. The single strap design still works and can be carried like a pack, but I don't know if it's an improvement or why it's different from what's shown on the site. Other than that, the bag seems great... lightweight and the pockets are decently sized. I will probably return given the weird backpack strap situation, but if you are just planning to use the carry straps, then this is still worth considering.

Color looks nice online, but the brown is really rust red and the zips are not yellow, but beige.

I recently purchased this duffel bag and found that the backpack straps are different from what is displayed on the The North Face site. It seems that in the site, the backpack straps are two individual pieces on the medium bag and one single strap on the large bag. My medium bag came with a single strap and i don't think its by accident based on how the bag does not have the features to support two individual straps.
