Good for outdoors, but clunky and stiff to wear.

These boots are well made and very comfortable but they are not my style.

The shoe color (burgundy) was beautiful. It was sad that they were to narrow, even if I would have gone a size up they would still be tight. The shoe is definitely not for outdoor hiking, the shoe is too nice to ruin them in outdoor elements. The shoe is more for city walking.

Just by the appearance of these boots I knew they were narrow! As soon as I took them out of the box I could see that they were going to be too narrow for my feet. They also do not have much insulation to be considered warm as I live in Chicago. They are better looking in person to my eye than they are pictured on line. I really had hope for these but they made my toes numb. Sometimes I can wear shoes in and they will stretch but these do not have much give. If you have narrow feet these are perfect for you. For these to be boots I am surprised at the fit. Going up in-size will not alleviate the problem with the width.

I bought these as a birthday present for my girlfriend. She wore them on 1 hour long hike through the woods. All the color has worn off the toe of the shoe immediately. I wrote a letter to the warranty center to get them replaced or get store credit for a different boot. They told me this is normal wear and tear for a boot that's been excessively worn. They told me on the phone that based on the photos they took, all the tread was worn off the bottom of the shoe. I explained they were brand new. They asked me for proof of purchase so I sent them that along with this message "Thanks for looking into this. As shown below the boots were purchased on the morning of Monday April 15th. The order number and information is shown below. They were received on 4/18. They were worn for roughly an hour. I promise you they were not "sufficiently worn" as the warranty letter I received says. The letter also says "The product displayed physical signs that equal or exceed the expectation for the use of the product." This wear and tear is not something I would expect after being worn once. I sent them back mid-June after reviewing your warranty policy. Please reconsider your decision after reviewing this proof that the boots were new when I returned them for a warranty defect." After all that, the claim was denied again. For a shoe designed specifically for hiking, it didn't last an hour. Timberland says the tread on the bottom was "completely worn out" and the shoes looked as if they had been worn for 2 years. Apparently, 1 hour is the life expectancy of their products.
