Customer Reviews New Balance Kids PO888v2 (Little Kid)

Bought these for my nearly 4 y.o. who wears ankle SMO braces. She is size 10-11 little kid and we have been having a really hard time finding sneakers to fit. I usually order a size to two sizes larger than her foot, in order to have the braces fit, but I guess when you move up from toddler to little kid sizes, the shoes get a little narrower and also longer, so nothing was wearable. So, I have started ordering only a half size up in little kid sizes. Her feet are a tad wide by themselves, but not overly, but her last two pairs of braces would just not fit in our old stand-by: Nike Free RN sneakers. I tried the Billy high-tops on a teacher's recommendation but they fit for like a week before we could no longer zip them up, and also were very long in order to get the width we needed. I also tried some other Nike's and the Saucony Jazz Riff's. Neither fit - same deal: long (even in her size per size chart) and narrow. This pair of NB and the NB Rave Run v1's fit great - the Rave Run's were a little more roomy and I was worried about her tripping on the toes. We probably could have sized down in the Rave Run and they would have worked fine but I didn't want to return them and roll the dice yet again. But, it's good to know that the NB PO888v2 and Rave Run's work with SMOs - posting this review for other parents struggling to find sneakers that fit:) Good luck.

Other reviews mentioning these shoes and their compatibility with SMO orthotics for our child are the main reason we bought them and we have had the same success. The extra width version of these shoes worked perfectly for our 5 year old and her new SMO braces. I know how hard it is to find shoes that work well in this situation so I wanted to put another review in for anyone searching for the same solution. They're much better looking than many options that work with SMOs and our daughter loves them. Highly recommend.

These are shoes for a wider foot, so they did not work for my daughter. They are a darling, well-made shoe. My child has a narrow foot, however. So, this was way too large in the width for her, unfortunately.

These shoes in XW are awesome for my son with wide feet. These are the widest and most comfortable children's sneakers I could find. They wear pretty quickly, though.

Overall it seemed like a great shoe! It was just much to big for my child. She typically wears a size 11-12 in all brands but I think maybe because this was XW it was made bigger in general? It was much to big for her, & we sadly had to return!

Bought for my 5 year old grand and she was overjoyed to get these shoes. She said they are comfortable and loves that they have rainbows. She wears them every day, so other shoes have been set aside. These are a winner.
