I bought this for sun protection, and its been outstanding. Even tho I am covered up, it is NOT hot at all, in fact, its cooling. Its very light and feels wonderful on and does the trick. I am going to buy a couple more.

It's lightweight and cool. It's great for gardening. I need waist high pants to prevent a gap when I bend over.

This is my first sun shirt and I'm obsessed. I always thought a long sleeve would be too hot but the material is super lightweight and breathable. I wear it on approaches to the crag and don't get overheated. The stretch is insane! The neck hole stretches so much, that I don't have to worry about messing up my hair- which is a huge bonus! If this is what sun shirts were like in the past, I missed out. I highly recommend. I'm 5'2, 130 and wear an xs. The arms are a little snug for me but I also have big arms and wide shoulders and don't mind the fit because of the stretch. The rest of the shirt fits so nice I wouldn't want to size up.

Great lightweight hoody. super stretchy and soft and comfortable. I wear paddle boarding, hiking, gardening, anywhere I want to protect myself from the sun. I hate sunscreen so this saves me. The fit is quite loose. I wear a size XS, 5ft,5", 123lbs. I wish there were more color options to choose from.

I love this shirt so much. The material is great. Light with some stretch. Perfect for hiking or running in the desert. And it has thumb holes!! My only complaint is I wish the tie was offset to the side so it didn't fall in the toilet. I didnt like the colors of the mens shirt so i bought this in XL. Probably should have gone large because its a little looser than i like.

Best sunhoodie, best top on the market. It is the best thing to wear all summer. It is so soft so stretchy and the most effective at sun protection and cooling. always feel safe in it, have never chafed in it, and just always look forward to wearing it. Wore it for 5 days at Cocodona (250 mile race) and had zero issues. The only issue, and it's a major one, is the STUPID drawstring on the bottom. It is useless and furthermore, it becomes a HUGE issue when going to the bathroom. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE MH, remove the dumb drawstring. I beg you.

Love, love, love these. They're the only UPF hoodies I've tried that I can tolerate in 100+ temperatures. My only complaint is that the stitching could be better quality, especially around the thumb holes and hems. Mine started unraveling in small areas after only a few months. But these are still far better than the competitors, and I absolutely plan to repair these until they fall apart, then buy more. I'm around 5'10" and 140 pounds, and the small fits well. The arms are even long enough for me to use the thumb holes! It helps that the material is pretty stretchy, so the fit is forgiving.

One of my favourite baselayers out there. I love how soft the material feels against the skin and how it wicks sweat and dries off quickly. The best part for me though is the hoodie. Love that it goes over the helmet and covers my neck and ears from the sun. Mine has gone through several washes and fabric is holding out well.

these are my absolute favorite sun hoodies but the last two years most of the colors for the women have been terrible! (reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is color options for the women.) How about gold, caspian and reds like the men have? .. this shirt is so soft on the skin,... doesn't feel like I'm wearing a fish net like with other brands.

Works great! Wicks sweat away, keeps me cool and covered. It's super soft, repels dirt well, and very comfortable. I agree with the other reviewer about the drawstring waist: weird and unnecessary (I cut the strings out.) I think this shirt runs a little large.

I'm conflicted on this review - loved how soft this piece was for a sun shirt, more cotton feels than plastic active wear feels, but the stitching is already coming undone and there's stains in the hood from dirt that aren't washing out. Worn it about 10 days, mostly spring skiing. So love it but it didn't last.

I love everything about this except the unnecessary draw string at the waist. I would have purchased the men's but there isn't my size equivalent. I find that the tie gets in the way and sometimes completely stuck on things when climbing or hiking.

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
I am 5'1" and depending on the manufacturer, I wear a small or medium. In the past a medium has worked great for Mountain Hardwear. This hoody did not fit. It was both too big and too small. While it was a bit tight in the body, the biggest issue was the overall length, including the arms. I don't think this top will work for individuals under 5'4" or those who are a bit taller. On the up side, the Crater Lake color is amazing and is why I am disappointed. So Mountain Hardwear, petite sizes please!

I love the feel of the fabric on my skin, but it tends to stick to me when I sweat in very hot conditions. The drawstring and side zipper pocket are pointless, and just add weight and annoyance. Without them I would rate this higher. Honestly, the drawstring just gets in the way (esp when peeing) so I removed it, leaving the shirt even more droopy and flowy, which is nice when there's a breeze. I still use it because it's super light, but it's not my favorite sun hoody.

I LOVE the material, fit and style but I wore it for an hour one day, then went to put it on today and the seam is falling apart at the wrist/thumbhole area. I bought one for my husband and another for myself, but I'm very disappointed at the seam. I'll have to hand sew it closed, which I'm sure will be fine, but it still bothers me. Too bad as I would have given it 5 stars!

This hoodie is great for sun protection and is very lightweight. Not sure what the tie in the front is supposed to be used for. If anything, it gets in the way when you are doing your business outside. Nothing like peeing on your shirt a little to spice up a hike.

I bought this hoodie in a size medium in the green a few years ago and it was perfect! I bought the same in the purple color this year and the sleeves are too short! I had to size up to a large to get the shoulder and sleeve length and now it's baggy in the body and doesn't look as nice. Also, I wish the string at the hem was off to the side or even in the hood. Being right in the middle it gets sucked back between my thighs when I run if I leave it long. Other than that this is the best fitting/ fabric feeling sun hoodie I've found.

I bought this shirt 2 years ago. Used it paddling and hiking once a week or more in all summer. At the end of the first season of use it was fraying along the drawstring and stitching was coming out along the thumb holes.

Why in the world did you put the tie in the front! Every time you go to the bathroom the tie straps are right where you need to do your business. Put the ties on the side for gods sakes!

I purchased this sun shirt for hiking based on friends' recommendations. I like how lightweight and breathable it is while still providing good sun protection, but it is not constructed well at all. Seams on the sleeves and bottom drawstring started unraveling after only wearing the shirt twice. The drawstring is also weirdly placed on the bottom hem and gets in the way. I'm not sure why the shirt includes the drawstring at all, it is unnecessary.

I've only had this for about 2 months, mostly use it for running and climbing. The seams are coming unraveled and there is a hole in the underarm already. I expected a more durable product from an outdoor company. I am giving 2 stars because the material is very soft. I will not be purchasing again, and do not recommend for anyone that does mountain sports.

I ordered the Blue Slate Crag Camo as a Christmas gift but received a Grey Camo search. Pictures showing hoody are misleading. Blue shirt is shown in most of the photos with a few Grey Shirt photos included (see attached photo). Upper left photo is the Grey shirt i received. The other 3 photos are the ones included in the webpage description with the Upper right photo being the top view. Disappointed that my daughter isn't getting the color she wanted for Christmas.
