I've had this mat for several weeks now (switched from an eko after it started looking ragged after a year and some of regular practice). I am very pleased with the pro lite! I do have to use a towel in heated classes, but I love that the pro lite is significantly lighter to carry than my old mat. It also is slightly squishier, which is nice on my bony knees in poses like mermaid. The metallic espresso color is also a perk. I'm hopeful this mat will be durable and support my practice for years to come.

Perfect thickness and feel for me. No slipping, lays very flat even when stored rolled. Color was a little more gold than I had expected, but still very nice and not gaudy.

Anyone who complained about this mat being slippery hasn't taken the right measures to prime it. I'd advise looking up some tips online and not solely following Manduka's instructions. Compare it to having and seasoning a cast iron skillet - it takes a bit of care at first but it will last forever and gets better over time. But if you aren't up for it you should probably just get a cheap non-stick pan/mat and just keep replacing it every year. This mat is gorgeous with the gold stripes and is sticky to the point that it has helped me improved my overall practice, especially arm balances and handstands. I love that I can grip it well without sliding. Definitely worth the investment! I'm obsessed and always thinking about the next time I get to use it. Also I have a latex allergy so this is one of the only high quality non-rubber mats on the market.

Fast shipping and exactly what I expected: a beautiful golden color!! Very comfortable and easy to carry as it is not too heavy. Contrary to what I read in a lot of comments: it is not slippery at all! I'd just say it is a bit expensive but this mat is fully satisfying!!! Hope to spend a lifetime practicing yoga on it ^^

This mat dark green & gold striped mat was a "limited edition" which I was lucky enough to snag due to good timing! I really needed a new mat & of course it's nice to have a unique mat and a beautiful one at that. I've never had so many compliments on a yoga mat over the 20 years I've practiced. What's best for me however, are the line grooves in the surface which cause just the right amount of friction. So yeah, I'd recommend!!!

The Manduka Prolite is my favorite mat. I did not need another one, but could not resist this color combination. It is beautiful! More gold in real life than in the photo.

This mat perfectly balances the need for grip with the need for padding. Sticky but plenty thick, I've been enjoying this mat in both heated and non heated yoga classes at my studio.

But this prolite is easier to take with me when I am on the go! I love Manduka's pro line- it's simply the best!

The color, texture, and quality is absolutely perfect!

I have been using the same regular Manduka Pro for about 6 years and wanted to get a new one with a fun pattern / color. I am a Manduka loyalist, but I did want to try something a little different that still had the cushion. However, I was actually hesitant to buy this mat because I read reviews that the sheen made it slippery in hot yoga which is primarily what I practice. I was blown away though with my first practice on it - not slippery at all! It's almost sticky, but in a great way! I actually feel more grounded and that my practice immediately leveled up with the use of this mat. Plus I think it is absolutely beautiful. The color says espresso, but it feels like a dark iridescent gold. I'm completely in love. Thanks Manduka for always making the best mats!!

Great mat! I was worried about the color being flashy but it wasn't at all! Super comfy and not to thick! Light enough to travel with! It is a little slippery but I know I gotta break it in.

I bought the Prolite mat in espresso and it's absolutely gorgeous. The color is to die for, a perfect gold shimmer... BUT I do slip like crazy on this mat. I've had to start using my Yogitoes towel for my unheated classes just to keep from slipping all over the place... but I'm a sucker for the color so I'm keeping it.

This is a heavy duty mat. I love the color and feel. At my first yoga class on the mat, both my feet and hands slipped. I questioned if I had put lotion on my hands, but I know I wouldn't have lotion on my feet. The second time I used the mat at home, I did not slip at all. I love the texture of the mat, it makes me feel so grounded. Hoping the slipping won't happen again.

My mat arrived in perfect condition, and the limited edition espresso is beautiful. It's about half as heavy as my black mat pro, so that is perfect, since this one is meant for travel. The only thing I'm struggling with is the surface. It is very slippery. I'm trying not to salt it, as I use it daily, but I'll see how it goes!

I got this mat to replace my pro that someone took at the studio. It feels like a regular mat to me. The way I roll my mat... face to face (in half) and then roll is to keep the top clean. The fold in the middle is really wearing on the pro lite and I've only had it a few weeks. I should have just gotten the heavier pro, that was the best mat I've ever owned.

I think the shiny color of gold is giving the mat slippery texture. I have the thunder color (same pro lite) which I bought on the same day which is absolutely fabulous and I gave it 5 full stars. I will try salting it and breaking it down a couple more times but for now it is too slippery. This one I am not using at all because even my knees were sliding on it and with sweat it was a disaster. The cushion is very great and the design is gorgeous. The stripe and the color is fabulous, not flashy at all and very classy. I am a yoga instructor so it is very pretty to have in my class. However the design and the color is not what is important when you are doing the asana and unfortunately I will probably only use this beautiful mat with a yogito towel on it which is such a shame. So yes With a yoga towel, it is fine lol. Sigh
