I'm loving this dress! I'm not a small woman, and my top half is bigger than my bottom half, making dress fit challenging at times. This dress does run a little big, but that's to my advantage and the tie waist cinches nicely to gather a loose bottom (it also means I'm not worried about bulges around my belly and hips!). I purchased this as a travel dress for Europe and I think it will be wonderful. It's comfortable and is extremely lightweight. The fabric is wonderfully soft with a nice stretch, but feels like it will hold up very well. I just bought another one in another color!

Great dress! Used it for a wedding that involved camping and it hardly wrinkled. I know I will wear it plenty in the future as well. I am 5'5, 130lbs and the small was still pretty loose. The slate color is also a bit darker than pictured (more like what the Royal Robbins site shows). Absolutely loved the pockets.

Why is it smaller/shorter than exact same item from 2 years ago? I bought this 2 years ago in size Large and love it, wear it all the time. I decided I wanted it in another color in addition to the Black I bought 2 years ago. When I received it, I figured I didn't need to try it on, but decided to ... just to be safe. It was tight across the chest. I know I have put on 2 lbs since summer, but was surprised. I pulled my black one out and it still fits fine, so held them up to each other. This one is 1" across (aka 2" around) at the bust smaller, and 2" SHORTER! I am returning and ordering in XL, but it makes no sense that the cut has been made smaller in just 2 years.

Outstanding. Comfortable and SO many pockets. It's all about the pockets. Purchased a medium (5'7, 155 lbs). Perfect fit.

It has pockets! Pockets that you can actually fit things into! Pockets within pockets where you can put things securely! It also works really nicely as a dress. The neckline is great - it's not high up at your neck, but it's not so low cut that you need to decide whether to show cleavage or wear a camisole. The style is great for my short waist, the length is good, and the material is comfortable. I got the asphalt, which is an interesting pattern and neutral enough to go with just about anything. I wish it came in more colors.

Material is nice; cool, nice looking. Good pockets, including zip on one side.

I usually wear a small or medium. Ordered a small in this dress, and it was too big. I felt like I was wearing a sack with a belt.

I’m really excited to wear this dress. It runs large, size down as others have suggested. I’m 5’9”, size 10-12 and a Medium fits me. Bless them for that.

Like the previous reviewer, I am also 5'3", so too am going to have to shorten it. I sew, but this will be a bit of project as this dress is very well constructed, it has a hem facing that I will need to unpick before I can shorten it. That said, the dress is cute and comfy, and promises to be a perfect travel companion as I pack for my upcoming African safari!

Lots of compliments on this dress. Comfortable but fabric is thin and flimsy which is ok on a hot day.

Used this dress on a recent trip. Fabric was light and comfortable. It packed up nicely and had few wrinkles. Size medium was true to my size. Style was great. Belt was a nice touch to add some shape. Love the bright navy color.

This is a very well made and flattering dress and just the right midi length for me. I particularly like the sturdy quality of the fabric and the subtle shade of blue. I wish it didn’t have belt loops, as I’d prefer to wear without the belt. It DOES run large, compared with other Royal Robbins dresses I’ve bought, I downsized to XSM, which was just right. Normally, I’d order a PSM. I’m 5’ 2”, 114 lbs, if that helps.

What a lovely and truly a great traveler dress! It is SO comfortable and very light weight fabric. At 5'3" and slightly pear shaped body, I found the dress TTS. In fact, I aimed for a larger size so the skirt area would be a bit fuller for a feminine style and to help cover underneath swim wear. Normally, I am more a small than a medium, but I chose a medium with this dress. Just wish it was longer in length.

Love it but kind of long for a short person. I am 5’3” and it comes just past my knees. I’m going to see how much it costs to hem. But it has a curved hem so it may not be doable. So if you’re short and looking for a short dress this may not be it. Having said that, it deserves five stars for its construction, sun protection, and packability. I hope I can keep it.

I have an older version of this dress (different print) and I LOVE THE fit and fabric feel. However this item is not as soft/silky feeling and the fit is tighter than the other dress. This dress is not as forgiving as the other. It's not horrible but I can feel it cling to certain areas unlike the older dress.

I sized up from a medium to a large which I usually do for items that are pulled on over the head. It is a little large, but I will keep it because I am in between sizes for the brand. I really like the color which is brighter in person than the illustration. This is a lightweight dress which will be great for the summer and for travel.

Like many dresses these days, they seem to be made for busty women. I am 5'4" 145 pounds. I purchased a medium. The top was too big, especially under the arm holes and the hips fit just right. A small would not have fit through the hips. Overall, just too much material for me and looked frumpy on my body type. Material very nice and felt like it would be comfortable.

Sizing has changed!! I am SO disappointed! I have this dress in a blue graphic print, purchased a few years ago, and it's my absolute favorite dress. I wanted to buy another one in black for versatility while traveling. Another review said that Royal Robbins made the dress tighter and shorter, and they were right! The sizing is completely different. It's frustrating for companies to continue to shrink sizes, as if women's bodies should be smaller. Shame on you, Royal Robbins. If you have an older version of this dress, you will definitely need to size up to get the same fit.

The dress is size M not S, even though it has S tag. Please make sure change the tag.
