I normally wear 8.5 in most shoes and boots. These were very roomy in the heel. I love the look and soft leather. However, like other reviews, they are very slippery - specifically on the carpet. Sadly, they're going back.

This was my first pair of Frye boots! I usually wear a 9-10 and the 9.5 fit best. The 9 felt way too narrow, and I don't have a narrow foot.
There's not a ton of arch support, but I was able to wear them right out of the box without any issues. I didn't give it 5 stars just because, like others have said, the sole can be a bit slippery. It's not a deal breaker but I almost slipped a few times at work before I got used to them.

Nice but returned. Not exactly the style I was looking for. Something transitional for work/casual. I have rather narrow feet and these felt a little snug but not uncomfortable. Typically wear a size 7 and would have stayed w that size if I kept them. The bottoms were also very slick. They’d require some traction to walk on carpet of smooth surfaces. Returned for a different style of Frye.

The boots look very nice; however they are very stiff. I purchased these to replace my Frye Carly double zip which have very soft leather. This is not the case with this shoe. Comfortable enough to wear, just not easy to put on and not what I was looking for. Overall well made if you like a stiff leather.

These are gorgeous and exactly what I was looking for, but the leather was excruciatingly painful above/at the ankle. I understand leather needs time to break in, but there is no way I could have walked down the hallway, much less around the house in these. I even tried to put on a thicker sock to pad my ankle. I have no idea how anyone could wear them long enough to break them in. And I am one to try. If they are borderline comfortable, I am willing to give it a try but these were unbearably stiff. The bottoms looked like they had been walked in already also, so I am wondering if someone else tried to break them in and returned them.

This boot was true to size. My problem was that the leather was stiff and it hit my ankle bone. Too uncomfortable for me. Sadly, had to return because it is a beautiful boot.

They were just ...blah...didn't seem to have a Frye feel...Not stylish. I got tan suede. Maybe they would be more chic in leather...Also I am almost always a size 8.5...These were too long....An 8 might have fit, but not sure. Didn't like them enough to try another size. Also, were these preworn? Seemed a bit scuffed for straight out of the box...

The strong smell from the dye first coming out of the box was a turn off….Then taking them out of the box, it was quite obvious someone had definitely worn them to where the soles were quite scuffed. I usually take an 8, tried a 7.5 and they still seemed too big, but it could be how my foot sits in the boot. I will add that usually I take a wide width but these were fine in that respect. They unfortunately went back.

These are my first pair of Frye boots, and I'm a bit underwhelmed. I've had the boots for a couple of months now, but rarely bring myself to wear them because they are so uncomfortable. The leather is stiff and the stitching inside chafes my skin. The sole of the shoe also feels uncomfortable. I probably should have returned these, but had high hopes based on previous reviews of Frye/these shoes. I'm hoping I can break them in eventually and I plan to put moleskin over the uncomfortable stitching inside the boot. I was really hoping for boots that didn't require such doctoring for the price.
A little reference - I usually live in ankle booties at work. My go-to's in the the past have been Clark, Born, and Madewell. Out of the box, these are less comfortable than any of my previous bootie purchases. I'm usually an 8.5-9, with a narrow-ish heel and rather wide toe box. I got an 8.5 in the Carson bootie and it's about an inch longer than any of my other booties (but fits tightly?). At this point I wouldn't recommend this bootie to my friends, but I'm still holding out hope I'll be able to break these in (they are cute!)!

I really wanted these booties to work but the sizing is way off. I normally wear a 6.5 or 7 in Frye and the 6.5 was too big. I exchanged it for a 6 and it was really tight on the top of my foot. I have normal width feet and high arches for reference. It was so disappointing. I ordered the suede taupe color and it was beautiful. Neutral color to wear with anything. The bootie is really lightweight and seemed like it would have been comfortable had it fit right. If it would have fit right I would have kept them.

These boots appear to be well made. I wear a 9.5M and these seemed spot on to me however, the shaft at the ankle was too tight. I also thought the boots were much cuter online than they were in person. I did love the heel height.

I love Frye products and own two pair of Billy Shootie boots so I was hoping these simple ankle boots would be a similar fit for me. Unfortunatley, the opening was very narrow and I couldn't even get my foot all the way into the boot to fully try it on so I can't give a true star rating. My foot is a little wider but I can often wear an 8-1/2 or 9, depending on the brand. These were a size 9. The leather was very soft. I wish they worked but they will have to go back.

These are beautiful shoes however I found them to fit ok in length but a little narrow in the forefoot. I also found the style to be a little basic compared to what I determined I was really looking for, as I have other booties in a similar style already. Ultimately returned, but a good closet staple.

Not the same toe and sole shape as Frye Carson earlier style (shoes), unfortunately. Lining on one boot poorly glued, so lumpy on the inner sole. The ankle is cut just a touch high or maybe too straight - hate the feel of a shoe edge touching my ankle/shin. Good support and comfortable leather though you would definitely want to get these Vibram soled.

Full disclosure I have a shallow foot and a narrow heel, so finding a shoe that fits is difficult. Overall it felt really loose and the stiff top of the boot hit the front of my shin uncomfortably. Sent them back.
