Sadly the waist band flipped over on the first wear, and no matter what I do i can't flip it bacK. So the band is twisted up like a pretzel and won't lay flat, you can visually see it when I'm wearing it. It's also big for a small. I'm going to try to return it as i've only had it a few weeks.

Exactly what I wanted

These are the shorts I have been SEARCHING for- the fit is just right. Most importantly, they do not squeeze the butt cheeks in that awful way that creates a double butt look. This, to me, is the main selling point. But there's more: good coverage for family-friendly beach/pool days, adjustable sides so I can be as cheeky as I want, comfortable waistband. Another reviewer didn't like that the elastic waistband isn't sewn stationary. I think this is a positive feature as it allows me to adjust how much of the band is visible. These shorts are comfortable and attractive. When I wear them, I can stand, sit, lie down, swim, run, etc. without having to continually mess with them because they gloriously stay in place and keep my rear end looking super cute! BUY THESE SHORTS. Oh, and Cinnamon Shimmer is beautiful!

These are a DREAM. I was in between a Small and Medium, and went with a Medium and I'm happy I did because I don't like my clothing too tight. While these are stretchy, the Medium sits loosely (but tight enough) on my hips and booty. I am a Size 4-6 in pants, with a bigger booty and smaller waist. I love that these sit slightly higher waist on me, and that I can adjust the sides to be longer or shorter with the drawstring. I'm super pleased about these shorts and will be wearing them alllll day and night during my jungle camping adventure to costa rica.

I am thrilled to finally find a bathing suit bottom that I will be comfortable in! I have not yet worn it into the water, but the coverage and fit are excellent. I am typically a medium in bathing suit bottoms and these fit perfectly. Excited to wear them to the beach this summer!

These swim shorts are super comfortable and soft. The rise is a little to high for me...I had to fold them down for them to be flattering. I decided to keep them...but I have to fold them down...I have a pretty flat stomach...but where the rise hits...makes some skin bulge over.

Use for Paddle Boarding - something more than a bathing suit but still water friendly. Fit is nice, doesn't create a muffin top and you can adjust the sides to make them more flattering.

I had some trouble with sizing: according to the very helpful Carve sizing directory, I should wear a Small, but since I never wear a small on the bottom except at Athleta, I got a medium. Silly me. A small would have been the right size for my 39" hips. The color is a very clear, mint green, which wasn't right for what I was trying to match, though, so I returned them.

These short are sexy while also allowing enough modesty to do just about anything without worry. They soft, but substantial, fitted, but not too tight, and don't loose shape after emerging from the water. I got solid black and also found a cute off-white with black stripes (on Amazon) -- they both pair nicely with my various bandeau colors. Highly recommend to anyone, of any shape or body type, who is looking for a swim short.

I love this! The fabric is soft and stretchy with a wide waist and. I usually wear a size 2 in shorts and the size small fis me perfectly. These r wonderful for SUP!!

I’m 59 years old tiny and tall but I don like more than I want to so to me this is perfect to swim and sexy too I love it

These were really unflattering on me. I tried on several bottoms from Carve that were really great, but these are definitely going back. True to size.

The ruching just didn’t look right, and she said you they weren’t that comfortable. Background - My wife (42/sporty/5.00/125ish lbs) asked for help looking for a new 2 piece. Her goto swim shorts have been the Speedo Women's Guard Endurance Lite Swim Short (avail. On Amazon). She wanted something in which she could be active (swim, paddleboard, etc) and she is both sporty and semi-modest. Thank you Zappos for being so awesome. You again made a shopping experience that my wife was dreading into a comfortable one before vacation. I will add a quick review for all and try to pull the relevant one up to the top of the list for each item. Winner = Carve Designs Lorenzo Swim Shorts Sporty with good coverage, and she liked the internal liner. They look a little more form fitting in the front (in a good way) and have just a bit of room in the back (not skin tight). They did run a bit large; a medium fit best in most of the others and the small was perfect in these Runners up = Roxy Endless Summer Boardshorts These might have been the cutest on her. She also loved the comfort. She was worried that the fold-over waist would not stay in place with highly active situations. She considered keeping just for general purpose / lounging and they looked fantastic on her. They did not have an inner liner if that is a problem. Roxy To Dye 2" Boardshort Some said these were too short, and they looked great on my wife, short and in no way scandalous. I would have encouraged her to keep them if the Carve Lorenzo wasn’t just a bit above. My wife like the waistband on the Lorenzo versus these. She said these shorts were comfortable.
