Stride Rite sandals and sneakers usually work well for my 5 year old with slightly wide feet. The Kadin, unfortunately, will have to be returned because the "wide width" was very narrow - in fact tighter than some of his regular width Stride Rite shoes. They also seem to run a half size smaller overall.

Great basic light up shoe for my pre-schooler.

I bought these for my 6-year old who is very hard on shoes. These fit him perfectly and he loved the orange light-up. In general I do like and prefer Stride Rite shoes and sneakers and these do not disappoint. I actually think they look even better in person than on-line. Definitely recommend.

Went up half a size (2.5 W) and they fit my 5 yr old nephew very well. He loves them and the style/color are very cool!

I returned and got a 1/2 size larger in wide. My son has narrow feet, but he couldn’t even get the shoe on!

Shoes fit great! They are a true wide fit, which my son needs. He loves them!

This is our first Stride Rite purchase, and it won't be our last! I have usually purchased Sketchers for my son, but the lights always die super fast and they wear out quickly. These look so much more stylish, are easier for him to get off and on, and the lights are less obnoxious. Very happy with our purchase, and as always, with Zappos customer service.

My very picky 7 year old put them on and loved them. He has a wide foot and hasn’t mastered shoe tying so these were perfect! The elastic laces can be pulled to make them tighter.

My 6 year old likes them, but the inner sole came out the first wear. I used shoe glue to secure it, but we'll see if that's the only problem or portends poor quality. Stride Rites are so hit or miss when it comes to quality. I'll update if it falls apart.

I compared the Stride Rite SR-Lights Kadin to Saucony Wind A/C. My grandson wears 10 !/2 little kids shoe size. I wanted to go a half size bigger for a little growing room so ordered size 11. The Stride Rite shoe was lighter, more flexible and felt 1/2 size bigger than same size in Saucony. I read from other reviews that the Saucony runs narrow so I ordered a wide in it but a medium in Stride Rite and comparing those two by width they looked a felt the same width. I took away one star for overall and comfort rating (from Stride Rite) because the Saucony was a little more stiff/supportive with better/thicker feeling - more substantial sole. We kept both pairs because the Stride Rite light-up and of course he had to have the shoes with lights! But even he had to admit the Saucony were a more stable/substantial shoe. I think Saucony is the better choice for athletic shoes.
