These boots are amazing! The leather is gorgeous and all the details are done just right. I liked them so much I bought a pair for my dad as well. Florsheim really did a spectacular job with these boots. It's too bad the Foundry line seems to be going away. Especially since there is a huge demand right now for goodyear-welted boots, and these are better than the new internet-based brands that are currently killing it in that space. Florsheim really needs to step up their online marketing game in order to tap into that market. If they had done a little more online promoting of the Foundry, it would have been a huge hit.

Florsheim is simply the best shoe there is. Always a comfortable fit and stylish. I am very picky when it comes to shoes and am always happy with Florsheim.

These boots exceeded my expectations with respect to looks and break in time. They wore well right out of the box.

The style is unmistakable, a refined Service boot. The leather is beautiful. Re sizing, they recommend a size down but I have a high arch and high instep and went with my normal size....good move, they fit perfectly. So perfectly that I then ordered the other colors, and the chukkas as well, all on clearance and the save15 worked too, so a great price. I could not be happier

High arch, high instep, I'm an 8.5E in Danners, 9.5 in Nike, 9D in Allen Edmonds when wide widths aren't available. I ordered one pair to validate sizing and the 8.5 fit perfectly. I could find no manufacturing defects which is amazing for a Goodyear welted boot, the leather is gorgeous and soft, the style is spot on for service boots. So, I've ordered each of the available colors! Then figuring the Foundry chukka was the same last, I ordered one of each of those available colors as well. The Foundry line seems doomed as all are on clearance, but I think they are fantastic. The save15 also works with the clearance items...so a really good deal

I bought these boots to replace a pair of 17 year old leather boots that were in much need of replacing. After some research I felt these would make the cut. The boots felt very stiff when first received, but one day of wearing around the house and they are already forming to my feet. The boots are very solid and feel like they will definitely stand up to some hard use. The boots do run large as the other reviews state, I reccomend ordering at least a half size down.

I'm giving these 5 stars. I agree with another reviewer that the wood like materialism the heel leaves a little to be desired. It started to discolor the second time I wore them. Shouldn't be an issue at this price point. However, it is barely noticeable unless you look closely. The fit, finish and quality of this leather are unequaled, in my experience. They're comfortable and go with jeans or slacks.

First order got off track with the delivery, but not the fault Florsheim and their customer service was excellent - they got another pair shipped next day delivery. The boots definitely run large, a half size, and the toe box is very roomy, wider than any other shoe I have purchased. I ordered a half size smaller than I typically wear and I added insoles and the boots fit great! If you have wide feet, these would be great for you. I like the look and no break in period needed. I use these as casual boots, but they can also work for a bit dressier occasions.

I used these for business casual wear. Florsheim delivers on quality and timeliness once again. The fit is not too tight and there is room for thick socks in winter. The leather is beautiful. The tread is awesome. The waxed laces

This Foundry boot is built to last a lifetime. The smell of the leather hits you when you open the box. It's definitely high quality leather. I bought the Rodeo Penny loafer in 2015 which used Horween leather, and I've resoled it 3 times. The upper is just looks better and better with age. i suspect these boots will similarly gain character with wear. The soles are unique, but they seem to be waterproof and are reasonably comfortable. The medium width really is a medium width. There's a little room in the toe box, but it's not a clown shoe like the Redwings this competes against. The look is dressier for a boot built for utilitarian purposes. The laces drag...a lot. I found over under lacing helped tremendously in reducing the drag on the laces against one another. As far as care goes, I hit them with some Saphir Renovateur out of the box. You never know how long that leather has sat in the box drying out. You don't want to hit these with a wax, but the Renovateur buffs up to a nice luster. My only complaint is that these are Florsheim Imperial range boots, but they didn't even come with shoe bags. The penny loafers came with bags, so I was a little disappointed in that. It's a little thing, but even the little things can separate a nice pair of boots from a top notch purchasing experience.

The shoes look good and are comfortable in wear. I find it slightly challenging to take the shoes off and to put them on, because of the narrow ankle area in the shoe and the way the shoes are shaped from the hill to the ankle. I do not know if other people have similar experience...

For the price, it'll be hard to find a nicer Goodyear welt boot made from Horween leather, especially if you have an additional coupon. They are made in India, so don't expect them to be quite on par with a US-made boot. They are probably as nice as other Mexican made boots in the $200-$250 range. These do run large, get a half to a full size smaller than you'd wear in a typical boot or dress shoe. I only went down a half size but like to wear thick boot socks with this type of boot. If you wear thinner socks, you may need to go down a full size.

I really wanted these to work. They look amazing and are well constructed. I waited about a month to review, hoping they would break in and feel more comfortable. They are just not a good fit for my feet. I was fitted for 10.5 Wide running shoes at a running store. Size 10 was a good fit length wise. I hoped they would be wide enough based on other reviews. They are on the wider side but they aren't wide in the right places for my feet. Also, the heel has a very hard surface right below the limited cushioning of the insole. After 2-3 hours of wear my feet kill me. I've clocked about 50 hours so they should be better by now if it was a break-in issue. I'll still wear these for shorter events, but I hoped they would be an everyday boot because they look so good. It's disappointing. I didn't notice the pain until I had worn them for a while so it's too late to return. Going to peel off the glued in insole and try a better one and hope that helps. Maybe some more wear will make them a bit more bearable. Glad I got them 40% off. I would not pay full price for these. I hope they work for other people's feet. They are worth a try. They are nicer than Thursday Captains and cheaper if you get them on sale. I'd recommend wearing them inside for a while and taping the bottom of the soles so you can return them if they are uncomfortable.

The boots fit well and the leather quality is good. But after a couple of uses, the midsole is making a popping sound, like something loose on the inside. Maybe the layers of the sole are coming apart on the inside.

Right out of the box, I loved these boots, and I still do. These were to replace my Wolverine 1000 miles, which are also made with Horween leather, but double the price. I find these boots to be more refined than the Wolverines, and look great for dressing up casually. The leather seemed more soft, supple and required no break in time. However, where my pair fell short was in durability. The leather got cut 2 weeks in, right on the toe, and not while doing any kind of heavy work. It might be a fluke, but I found it disappointing. With that being said, they still do look nice and I will continue to wear them. Just be advised that although these are modeled after a traditional boot, they are best suited for dress and leisure purposes.

Pros: This is a great looking shoe and one that I see myself owning for a while. The Horween leather on this shoe is beautiful and the shoe breaks in within a couple of wears. The color on these boots is eye catching and look great with khakis or jeans. Sizing is pretty typical for boots. I wear a size 12 in sneakers and in boots I usually wear 10.5 or 11. In these boots I wear a 10.5. Cons: Out of the box these boots were stunning but that soon went away. A pretty large complaint of mine is that heel between the rubber sole and rubber heel is starting to come apart and the color stripped away immediately and is no longer brown but instead a tan looking color that will soon be a very light brown. Once the heel breaks off, I'm going to need to pay a cobbler to replace it with real leather and will cost $50+. Another thing, the paint in the edge of the welt isn't even and it clear that it was done quickly. As a reference, I have only worn these shoes around 15-20 times and when I do wear them it is only in an office setting. If it's raining or snowing I don't wear them. It's disappointing that these shoes were $250+ and are wearing like this. I own quality shoes and take care (shoe trees and light brushing after wearing them) of them so it doesn't make sense why these are aging like this. I'm giving a 3 star review because a 4 just feels too high for shoes that will soon need to be repaired. If these were less than $150 this would be understandable but they weren't. Unfortunately, I cannot post pictures of the heel and welt, otherwise I would have.
