Extremely durable and well manufactured. Shorts are long in my opinion, but you can have them hemmed and problem solved

I bought a pair of the shorts for trip to San Diego. Fit guide read I needed a M/M size and they fit a little tight. I will try the large next time. As with all Arc'teryx clothing, very good quality and well worth the extra cost!

Really good quality shorts for any activity. They have a slightly noisy shuffling sound as you walk around but you get used to it. I'll probably end up buying another pair down the line.

These have become my new favorite shorts. They work well for a variety of activities from hiking, cycling, and even daily wear. The zip pockets add an extra bit of security from items falling out (especially from the thigh pocket during cycling).

These are my new favorite all purpose, climbing, hiking, lounging shorts. Nice light weight, good zippered pockets (side pocket fits large phone easily), stretch and super easy to dry. They have replaced the prana shorts that I have sworn by for years for all activities. Belt is easy to use and low profile for under harness/pack. The only improvement would be a inch or two longer, being fair skinned I like shorts as long as possible. In a perfect world Id buy these mid calf. Shorts seam are inline with top of knee.

I bought these shorts to use for most of my daily activities possible - around town, work, and then afternoon hiking, scrambling, climbing. Or vice-versa. They are very comfortable, look great, material has super nice feeling (Arc'teryx uses the best nylon fabrics out there) and is durable for climbing, but still feel light enough. Superb construction as well, quality stitching, thigh pocket and the end of the leggings have taped seams inside for extra durability. Zippered pockets secure things like phone, wallet. Integrated belt is awesome, easy to adjust, light.
I got exactly what I wanted with these shorts, extra money is paid off. The only downside is that they are a bit big on me, but for shorts this is less of a matter. Would like to see XS available.

Just purchased my second pair after using the first on a walk today. As another review stated, I thought I ordered the wrong pair. I used the sizing chart and it said I was a medium. Really? I haven't been a medium since high school. But the material is incredible. Like wearing nothing and I put my phone in the side pocket just to see if it would bother me...It didn't. A lot of money for a pair of shorts, but worth it.

I pick these up in Jasper. Wore them the rest of our vacation. Now at home they're my 1# golf shorts! So cool, no belt needed!

My favorite travel shirt. Do anything. Go anywhere. Unlike some other brands I wear and enjoy the brilliance in the belt, pockets, comfort, fabric and fit is the perfect combination.

Shorts are perfect length for my 5"11" & 30" waist frame .
Comfortable & breathes well in cooler temp weather hiking & rock climbing .
And quite durable too i might add !
Anyone who is desiring more length in the newly designed Palisade shorts ( which i have an older pair ) will do well at looking at this puppy .
Two thumbs up Arcteryx !

These shorts are the best shorts I've ever owned. The buckle at the top makes them feel really solid for hiking and the material of the shorts is great and lightweight.

I am totally digging these shorts! The pros I've listed FAR outweigh the "cons". 5 stars all around. This is definitely one of those products that you can safely skip reading any further through the reviews. This means you, dear reader. Scroll back up to the top, add one to your cart, and get on with it. You'll thank me.

I own 3 pairs of Gamma LT pants so I pretty much knew what I was getting into when the shorts came out. They are super comfortable and have a nice, trim fit. They are my new favorite shorts in a drawer full of tech fabric shorts. I normally wear a size L, but for the Gamma LT pants and shorts, size M is perfect. If the folks at Arc'Teryx were waiting to see if these babies sold before offering more colors, they better get on it! I'll make room in my drawer!!

I'm a big fan of most Arc'teryx products. These shorts are no exception. I have had several different models of Arc'teryx shorts in the past. They simply last and stay nice wash after wash. I have used some for hiking a daily grunt over 200 times and they are still good. Every pair I have bought have been excellent which is why it is so easy to keep coming back.
These particular shorts fit perfect to the size indicated and my wife says they even make an old fat guy look good. The length is where it should be and the quality, well it's Arc'teryx!
Highly recommended!

I am quickly becoming an Arc'teryx raving fan, and these shorts are yet another reason to rave. The Gamma LT short is beyond comfortable. They are very lightweight and yet feel like they'll last for years and years. The mechanical stretch in these shorts means they never pinch or constrict anywhere. In short, they are supremely comfortable, even when wearing them for 18+ hours.
The waistband is also a highlight. It is lined with chamois-like material for comfort and the built in belt has a bit of stretch built into it so it flexes when you do - again, super-comfortable in all situations. The waist snap is oversized and works very well.
I like the zippered pockets and their placement. Minimalist, but just enough to carry the essentials. My only wish for these shorts is to have a small "pocket in a pocket" like the Aptin shorts and a few other Arc'teryx pieces do. That little pocket is perfect for stashing Apple AirPods or my folding reading glasses or other small things so that my pockets are more organized and everything doesn't end up piled up in the bottom. When you have shorts that fit closely with stretch material, a small pocket in a pocket would help keep things neat.
Overall, I am blown away with the Gamma LT shorts and will be ordering another pair in Redox to join the black pair in this review. Perhaps next year we could have a nice blue or charcoal gray...
One more thing: THANK YOU, Arc'teryx for finally offering some options for those of us who are, um, "solid". I'm 6', 250 lbs with a 44" waist (sometimes a 46). Big guys need good gear too, and I'd have a lot more Arc'teryx in my closet if there were more pants / shorts options in my size.
For reference, I wear an XL in the Aptin shorts and Stradium pants, and the XXL Gamma LT's fit perfectly. Not too loose, not too tight. I wear an XL in all the tops (Delta LT, Adahy hoodie, Stradium jacket) and an XXL in Arc'teryx button down shirts.

I am a big fan of the Gamma pants, so the shorts look to be a favorite item to wear. Material and sizing are comfortable. The built in belt is great when going through airports, one less item to remove. The only con is the knee length and wide leg cut at the bottom of the shorts. You buy shorts to have shorts not cut off pants. They need to shorten and tapper the shorts for a proper fit.

I've had these shorts for about 2 years now and they've been my go-to hiking shorts since I bought them. They breath well, move well, and the built in belt is great for keeping the shorts streamlined and low-profile. But since I've started climbing in them this season, I've noticed that the crotch stitching is starting to blow out rapidly. I've been mending this by basically just gluing the blown out stitching in place, but I suspect my harness is just eroding the stitching more and more with every lead fall and I'm not confident they'll last a full season of climbing.
They're great hiking shorts, just don't expect to take them to stand up to climbing.
