I'm one of those people who, if they're moving they're almost always warm and over-heating more often than they'd like. Because of that I wanted something that helps me shed heat while keeping the wind out when I stop moving. The Squamish is better at that than anything else I've worn! First, it's really light - as others have said, it's easy to forget you're wearing it. It's so light that with my Trail Blaze (orange) one, you can see the clout of darker T-shirts through it, even my medium green one. That might be enough to make you re-think your colour choice but not the jacket! Secondly it packs small - it packs into its own chest pocket with plenty of space (I think you could potentially get a second in there). Packed, the pocket is about 6" x 6" but you can squash it to about 2 tennis balls. This lives permanently in my backpack now., just in case!

Excellent jacket! I use this when my Beta AR would be overkill. This is great for shorter hikes when weather looks to be good. It's always great to have as an emergency layer for an unexpected storm or when the wind picks up. Very glad to have this, and it packs down so small you can take it anywhere.

This jacket is great. I always struggled with summer days where the morning is still chilly. Taking a jacket could be such a burden. This is ideal on my commute or on hikes as you can get your body temperature up, and then just throw it in your bag. So light that you won't notice it. For me, it has a perfect balance between breathability and wind breaking abilities. I tend to heat up quickly, and this jacket doesn't suffocate. A true must-have.

This is the best windbreaker I could imagine! I use it for mountain biking, back packing, mountaineering and sailing in Southern California. Really breathable when you have high intensity exercise and and worm and soft at the same time. In combination with light puff or fleece this is great winter jacket for sunny winter accents. I bring this jacket on every trip now

I bought this jacket for my wife and she loves how packable and light weight it is. It's perfect for those windy summer days and cool summer nights. The only thing missing that would make it truly excellent would be if it had side pockets. My wife says it's especially ideal for women because women's shorts and pants don't always have pockets or they're too small so jacket pockets are pretty crucial.

I love this jacket. I wear it for anything I am doing. The rain beads off nicely and it's light enough that you won't overheat in the summer. Best jacket I have owned by far!

After trying to decide between a few light, packable jackets I decided on the Squamish Hoody. It has come with me on every trail run and hike I have gone on this summer because Colorado weather is so unpredictable and it has not failed me so far! From chilly early morning to high alpine rain storms, this light little jacket has done awesome for me. I am also super happy with the fit, slightly slim and nice, and the color I got was the orange and its amazing < 3 Cant wait to keep growing my Arc'teryx collection

I have the gamma, Squamish, and sigma(useto) and I wear the Squamish way more then any other soft shell. I have dragged over rocks and slid down hills in it expecting it to be shredded, but it remains in great shape.. it breathes well and it's also decently warm and knocks the wind down as intended.. it'll shed some light rain but soaked through if it really pours. On good weather days it comes with me as my only extra layer But it's difficult to pack it when I'm going fast and light in alpine conditions when I'm bringing a hard shell and an insulated jacket.. it has replaced a fleece/thicker base layer a few times on these trips.. love the jacket.. comes on my longer runs too in cooler temps

A must have windbreaker. Really packable. Sheds light rain, but not waterproof. I use it lots in Whistler in spring, summer and fall.

My husband lost this jacket while we were in Italy. He has talked about it every day since we got home. He loved this jacket and said it was so useful! My son and I got him a new one for Father's Day! Hopefully he is surprised!

I suggest this jacket if you bike around March-April or September October. You never know when the wind will start. This jacket isolates the wind and you never feel cold. The best part is you never feel hot either. You just feel how it suppose to be. When it is too hot, I pack it to my jersey pocket. It gets that small.

This is by far the most versatile piece of Arcteryx clothing I own. I use this all season - from the skin track in winter to spring & fall MTB riding, summer hiking and even the office. The fit is superb (6ft, 170lbs, size medium) to wear with just a t-shirt, light fleece (Patagonia R1) or Atom LT vest. I love this jacket so much I bought 3 - orange & blue for outdoors adventures and dark gray for the office.

I have only been using this jacket for just beyond a month now and I have nothing but great things to say about it. Super light layer that does a great job of blocking out moderately high winds and surprisingly does quite well with a good amount of rainfall. My only gripe would be the zipper - I'm not sure if it's normal behaviour but mine likes to unzip just by pressure from my layer underneath. The Squamish comes in some great colours - my favourite being Flare!

This jacket is great for running, cycling and hiking. Its thin enough that you dont overheat but provides great protection form the elements. It packs down so small that it almost always makes it into my bag for hiking in any conditon.

Perfect jacket for many activities where the weather cool but not crazy cold. The jacket packs into its own pocket to a size of a fist. Blocks out wind and allows breathing too. I like it so much that I own two.

Very pleased with this product. Very lightweight and can be rolled up to the size of your fist. Wore it on top of Scafell Pike with just a t-shirt underneath on a very windy day and it kept me warm. Would definitely buy Arc'teryx products again.

The Squamish jacket is the perfect windshell, I use it all the time walking around town and for hikes. I bring it with me almost everywhere. It is great for traveling because it packs up super small but it also provides wonderful protection for its size. It fits true to size and can be layered underneath with an insulated layer to make a warm, water/wind protected system. The chest pocket is good for storing stuff (I'd prefer hand pockets as well). The bottom, wrists, and hood can all be altered to your preference.
