I loved the jacket , however I'll have to decide if I will keep it $ 500 for a jacket with no cellphone pocket,

I have had this jacket for a little less than two years. I use it for snowboarding in the winter as a shell and for backpacking and hiking the rest of the year. As I use this jacket for outdoor activities beyond getting coffee on a rainy day, I am usually wearing a backpack, be it my avalanche pack when snowboarding, or a pack for hiking/back country camping. Unfortunately, because of the placement and materials used for the hem adjuster, I now have two holes that have warn through from the abrasion against the hem adjuster. Although the holes don't really impact the performance of the jacket, I do think it's worth noting the design flaw given the price. Additionally, the previous version of this jacket had the hem adjuster in a different place.

Have had this jacket for two years. At first I was happy with it but over time the pockets started filling with water. Everything sealed, vents zipped up, they still leak. My phone was kept in the pocket and got so wet it stopped working. Looking forward to hopefully replacing with a more hearty waterproof jacket that I can have confidence in.

Pros: Good fit, really well designed hood. Cons: This jacket has the appearance (and price tag) of a rainshell, yet the performance of a windshell. It is misleading to describe this jacket as waterproof (the first listed technical feature). While I did not expect the pockets to be completely watertight, I was surprised to find that so much water pooled in the pockets that I could actually pour the water out. If it's raining, the pockets are definitely not suitable carrying anything that you wouldn't fully submerge in water (RIP phone and electronic key fob). I wish I had seen other similar reviews before purchasing this jacket. Very disappointed.

My husband bought me this coat a couple of months ago. I have been very happy with it. I only wear it when out with my children in wet weather. I have not worn it to do any out door activities such as hiking etc. I am disappointed to have noticed that it marks very easily and the light blue colour has worn off around the pockets. Which spoils the look of the jacket. Considering the cost I would have expected it to be more robust and not easily damaged or worn. If I was going to buy another I wouldn't get one in a light colour. The jacket has been well looked after so I am not very pleased with how it looks. My previous waterproof jacket was a fraction of the price and lasted years.

I was offered this jacket as a replacement after experiencing problems with an older model, and while I love Arc'teryx's commitment to fixing or replacing faulty products, I do not love this jacket. As a very tall and slim woman, I used to love that your products were the only ones on the market that fit my frame. I invested in many of your products. I've been told that your fit models and target audiences have changed over the years, and while I understand the need to stay current I do sorely miss your old fit. This jacket is very tight under the armpits. It cuts into my skin and restricts movement. It was suggested to me that I keep the armpits permanently unzipped, but this is not an appropriate solution. The zippers themselves make the armpit fabric stiff and lumpy. When I add my atom hoody underneath it becomes even more tight and uncomfortable. Sizing up does not improve the problem. The hood is so small that it does not fit my hair in a simple ponytail without pulling back away from my face. The arm length is alright, but for an activewear jacket I would love to see a bit more length to allow for dynamic movements. At this point not a single women's jacket in your store fit's me, so I'll be likely be requesting a men's XS once I settle on a particular model. Sadly the Men's Beta LT does not come in XS so I might have to settle on the Beta SL Hybrid. I miss being included in your women's market and feel like a freak every-time I step into your store.

I was excited to finally get my own Beta jacket after hearing everyone at work rave about it. I chose the hybrid SL over the SL because the pit zips would be convenient. Overall the jacket fits and looks great. I bought this in December to use for my year long trip that began in Februray. This weekend was the first time I wore it in the rain. I was out walking for about 30-45min and it was drizzling on and off. When I took the jacket off I could feel and see where the water have seeped through, it was all over the back, arms, chest and hood. Left me cold and wet. Quite disappointed... it's only the beginning of my trip and I haven't worn it much at all. I suppose I will have to wait until I return to Canada later this year to send it in for warranty :(

I've used this jacket for a few months. Such great memories hiking in Denali and Yosemite. Today was the first time I wore the jacket in rain. I thought the city's rain would be no match for Gore tex. Unfortunately within 5 minutes the inside of the jacket became damp. In 15 minutes areas were fully wet.

I bought this backpack to use as an "emergency layer" for backpacking. I wore it less than 5 times with a pack on and only for about an hour or so at a time. Found that it was losing its waterproofing, sent it in to Arcteryx, and was told that it wasn't covered under warranty because the leaking was caused by micro tears from wearing it with a backpack on. So sad because now it's basically useless to me :(. Also, the trim fit is not great for a petite curvy size small.
