For “wide calf”, they seem quite snug... and I wouldn’t say I have particularly chunky legs.

I don’t think I have a super wide calf and these shoes were super snug on me . The owner all look of them is nice , but unfortunately the fit is wayyy off . Will be returning my order

I would definitely not consider these wide calf. But a very nice boot. Had to return.

I would hardly call these ‘wide calf’. I’ve never had wide boots in my life and I can hardly get these on. Hindsight I’d order a half size bigger. They are cute and comfy once you shove your foot in there though. I’m 5’11 a size 14/16, shoe size 11. I wouldn’t recommend for women who normally wear wide calf.

This is not a wide calf boot despite description. It is very tight and the clasp or belt on the side does not provide any extension or addition room for the calf. I do not have big calves however I do not like a snug fit because I often wear thick, boot socks. Not an option with this boot, it was snug without socks, just my jeans and the ankle area had a gap crease--weird. I also had a hard time taking off the boot. I am so disappointed because I really liked the look of these boots.

Love these boots, love them. they are light weight and very flexible, good tread. but my calf is just a tad to muscular to be able to wear these, even with the 'wide calf' feature. I can get them on, but only with regular thickness socks and leggings, and they are snug around my calf. as soon as I begin moving and the muscles swell with blood flow, they will be too tight. my calf measures 14.75 at the largest circumference.

I love everything about them. Color, fit, and look.

For reference, my calf circumference is 14.5 inches, I’m 5’3” with rather short legs, and typically wear a size 6.5C. I ordered these wide calf boots in a 7 even though my calves are not wide, because other reviewers stated that the regular version has very tight calves and is difficult to remove, and that this supposedly wide calf version really isn’t wide calf. Also, I have a wide forefoot and recall seeing that Hunter’s wide-calf boots also have wider footbeds. Finally, I wanted to have enough room to tuck my jeans in and wear thick socks. For me, the boots I ordered fit perfectly. There’s about an inch or two of extra room in the calf, perfect for fitting jeans and socks. But they’re not so wide they look sloppy: this is a nice-looking boot with an equestrian style. The top of the boot comes to right below my knee. I find the buckle/strap at the top difficult to operate (and useless, because the boot material is too stiff to snug up with it). These are new and I haven’t yet worn them through puddles, so I can’t vouch for durability or waterproofness, but if they hold up as expected, they’ll be ideal.

I should have listened to the other reviewers! This is definitely not what I would consider a "wide calf" boot.

Boots are nice looking and fit well. While noted as a wide calf, they are not that generous. My issue was that the buckles did not lay flat when buckled. This could be annoying if you crossed your legs. I feel it's a bit of a design flaw for Hunter based on their price.

I have an older pair that fit me perfect. These the calf was too tight, had to return them

These are not wide. I’m not sure who’s calf they are measuring to get the average to assume that these are wide, but it’s a no. If you’ve ever had an issue with a boot not fitting your calf- these will not. Very disappointing.

These boots are gorgeous but they are definitely not wide calf. I could not get them over my calf and had to return.
