I much prefer the Hunter field style boots (Norris Field and Huntress Field) over all their other styles. The Huntress Field style is about 3 inches shorter than Hunter's standard "tall" boot, but are so comfortable and a breeze to get on and off, especially if you have average size calf. The Norris Field gives you the taller shaft and comfort of the flexible material. So if you want the tallest style boot and don't have a large calf, the Norris Field boot is for you. However, if you want the most comfortable field style boot and/or have a larger calf, you WILL NOT find a more comfortable boot than the Huntress Field boot. Lastly, size down. I'm usually an 8.5/9 but went with the size 8.

I’m 5’2” and have a 15 and 3/4” calf circumference. These fit perfectly even with jeans tucked in. These are the perfect boot for short girls with big legs. The original tall came up too high and rested right behind my knee which made walking awkward. These sit about 2” below my knee. Absolutely perfect.

I am 5'3" and have been ordering Hunter boots and Boggs trying to find a fit that works, the original tall are too tall for me and the Boggs weren't the feminine style I loved about the original Hunter boots. I felt the top of the boots hitting the back of my knees, I was really hopeful for these since the shaft length is shorter than the original talls and taller than the play boots, and the fit is a bit wider around the calves, which was also something I needed. As a runner, my calves are pretty big and the original tall are tough to get off, so I was really wanting to love these, but the style didn't come off as cute as the original tall, notice a bit of the bulge in the calf in the photos, I couldn't help but want it to fit more like the original talls, so I had to return. After trying on so many Hunter boots, I'm going with the short play boot, functional, no issues with shaft length and calves and super cute. The reviews left for the Huntress Field Boot really helped me decide what to order. I am usually a 10.5 and bought the 11's, but ended up with the size 10 because they seemed to run a bit on the large side. I have larger calves and the regular tall Hunter boots do not fit me. This is a nice option for those of us who don't have skinny legs!

After reviewing the hunter brand rain boots I decided to try the huntress boot thinking it would be true to what I needed. I am 5’0” tall so I smelled shaft size was what I was looking for. I am also a size 6.5 typically, and chose to order down to the 6, seeing that they run bigger in other reviews. Well...the shorted shaft size and size 6 are perfect!!! They are my new favorites!!

I got my “Huntress” boots as a gift while in College in 2011 and they survived until March 2018 when they were just too eroded and began to leak a little bit. But they endured years of Northeast Winters and heavy wear! I’m 5”4 and about 140 lb so regular tall hunters were too tight on me. I like that the Huntress option lets you tuck in your winter pants (bc sometimes leggings don’t cut it). These boots were a big investment at the time but well worth it for how long they held up. Plus they are cuter and more work appropriate than more rigid variety’s so I don’t feel bad wearing them into the office when it’s pouring!

Exactly what I was expecting given Hunter brand reputation. This style can accommodate a calf that isn’t super skinny (which the original style cannot) even with pants tucked in.

I usually wear an 8 1/2 size. I had heard Hunter boots run large so I knew to choose size 8 as opposed to 9. I love the color, it’s almost like a dark gray/green. I love the comfort as well. I like to wear warm boot socks with these boots or even short socks if I so choose.

The ankle area was huge and oddly shaped. Very odd and unattractive fit.
