I have been buying these shoes for my elementary school aged son for several years, just sizing up as needed. He finds them really comfortable and they hold up pretty well.

The fit is excellent. Main reason for buying the Asic GelContend 5 is to help with planar fasciitis -- the arch support is perfect for me, and the heel cup provides even support. I downgraded the style simply because the colors are a bit loud. I would wish for the identical shoe with more of a "business semi-formal" upper. Solid black, solid medium brown. Would be perfect for office workers.

I had been in pain walking my dog with little toes cramped up and rubbing in all the shoes I owned (including Sketchers relaxed fit shoes). I love these size 12 4E extra wide ASICS GEL-Contend 5 shoes! Finally something that is comfortable and gives me no pain. Also, the fast shipping from Zappos just can't be beat

So far I've clocked in almost 170 miles on these shoes and there isn't a lot of wear on the soles. I suffer from underpronation (excessive wear on the outside sole of a shoe) and wear through running shoes quickly - regardless if they are pricey or cheap. These Asics are by far the best for anyone that underpronates; no foot pain after long haul runs and great tread wear. Though this is a street shoe, I wear them off road on dirt/pebble trails (in all types of weather) and they are holding up really good (no rips or stains). In all, this is a very comfortable and durable shoe; plus, if you suffer from underpronation - these shoes are a must have.
