This model has changed much in recent years. The Contend feels more like the previous Excite.

These shoes are much wider than the rest of the line

I LOVE this shoe! I am a power walker, so I require much support and balance. This shoes is perfect for me!

These shoes were nice looking and fit me well BUT I really bought them for comfort not realizing that they do not have any arch support. Because I have high arches, they cause my feet to turn inward and put extreme strain on my ankles and shins. If you are flat footed, they may be okay for you but if you have normal or high arches I recommend trying something different like the gel zirus 2 because this shoe is DEFINITELY not for you.

Sturdy but snug. Great feel and support for feet. Do recommend.

Not as comfortable as I thought they would be. I own another pair of ASICS that are much better.

Very heavy. Not a fan. There is nothing light or comfortable about this shoe.

Makes my foot slide forward in the shoe so much while running that my toes go numb.

Very stiff and hard (especially around the heel and back of the ankle.) Not flexible at all. Very poorly made.

Very uncomfortable, shoes rear digs into heel. Got a rash the first run, turned into a blister after second.

Ordered these and at the last minute they didn't arrive, why let me order and pay for them

dont get me wrong there are comfortable,but you get what you pay for. the toe or front half of the shoe looks wet\wrinkled. I wouldnt buy another pair. not happy, too much trouble to return. Gym shoes now.

I wanted to like these shoes SO bad! ASICS discontinued my old go to running shoes on their website so I decided to try these based off the great reviews. They are SO uncomfortable. The toe box is HUGE so I tried lacing them tighter... didn't help. I tried loosening them and that didn't help either. I even tried different socks. Super bummed!

Made my calves and feet hurt until I was hobbling as I tried to run. Will not buy again.

I bought this a couple of months back and ad high expectations. Fit was perfect, comfortable and light weight. But suddenly I saw that the top of the shoe, right above the big toe has started developing a hole. Seriously how can a shoe be so flimsy and wear out within such a short time of just 135 miles. I have had to put a tape from inside the shoe and hoping it lasts for some more time. In comparison I did 500 miles in my Nike Free run and it is still good for another 200 miles. I was hoping ASICS shoes would be better but I now have to go back to Nike or some other brand. Don't expect this from such a highly rated brand. Maybe this was a defect but no way to know as I use this only on the trail for running and nothing else.

I am a standard size 5 and these were too small. Very disappointed had to return

These are not comfortable at all, too small and not enough cushioning!
