The problem with this shoe is that Asics is using lighter and fewer plastic strips on the interior side (i.e., the right side of your left shoe and left side of your right shoe) of the shoe instep area. Look at the product photos. The lateral support strips are not the same on the outside and interior sides of the shoe. That decreases lateral support and led to my orthodic arch supports tearing through the interior mesh in less than 10 runs. I have been wearing Asics, specifically GT-2000s, for almost 20 years. I loved the GT-2000 5. Great shoe. But starting with the GT-2000 6 and continuing with the 7, Asics has made changes that make the shoe less sturdy and unable to stand up to the punishment of running. Now, I am going to have to find a new shoe.

Not sure. Looking for a new shoe.

Asics have not been the same in years. They used to be my "go to" shoe, but the brand has changed for the worse. Initially, I really did like newest the 2000 7. However, I HATE the laces. They are too short and too flimsy for daily use. A thicker lace would have been much better! I found the stability to be good, but I don't want to have to buy new laces. So, I am returning this shoe. I feel it is comfortable, and probably great for the gym and running, but it is not as good as the shoes Asics used to offer. I miss the old Asics!

Female wears a women’s 12 -I actually bought the Gel Nimbus in a womens 12. The toe area was tight and it felt like my toe was just about at the edge of the shoe. I saw these, remembered I once bought a black pair in a men’s size, felt the color was unisex, and bought a men’s 10.5. The toe area was much wider, and they are very comfortable.

I had to return these shoes. They felt fine until I tried running then a problem showed up on how the ball of my foot hit the ground. I switched to a different shoe and had no problem. If not going to do any serious running then there should be no problem.

These are a really nice shoe, but just did not fit my foot. Tried multiple sizes and widths. Will return them. For some feet, these will be a great shoe. Well made, good pronation support, but I did have insert my orthotics for complete pronation support. For my foot, not enough forefoot cushioning.

The GT-2000 7 fits great. Feels just like the previous Gt-2000 6 version. Hopefully the common problem with the tearing at the toe has been solved. I was willing to take the chance. Overall very satisfied, and time will tell.

I've been wearing GT-2000 sneakers for awhile now. ASICS brand is by far the most comfortable sneakers I've ever purchased. I highly recommend them for comfort, style and price.

Great shoe for support. Just had foot surgery and this is the only shoe that would fit and give me the best support for my foot.

These shoes work great for running. I have issues with my ankle, knee, bursa (under the Achilles tendon), tendon under the large toe. I have to wear stable shoes to keep all the a I've aligned. A new pair lasts me around 250 to 300 miles. I ran all weather.

I tried numerous traditional daily trainer shoes. It seems all of them have gone with the fad of the time - soft midsoles. I don't like soft. It feels like I'm running in sand, even the shoes that have "novel" midsoles promised to be bouncy. There was one exception. the Asics 2000 7. The midsole is firm yet there is substantial cushioning and shock absorption. The "sink in" is very minimal and the shoe can run fast, or slow, and is a joy to do so in. It's also very unobtrusive. The leg turn-over is effortless and unencumbered. The downsides: I only got about 200 miles before the midsole felt significantly depleted compared to a new shoe. They felt fairly flat and I did not feel that original great support. The bounce and cushioning was nearly gone. Even the upper felt significant less supportive. However, almost all shoes I have ever worn have felt at least somewhat depleted in all respects at the 200 mile mark. The 2000 7 were still runnable up to about 350 miles but no where near as enjoyable to run in at 1 to 200 miles. But I can more then live with that. The shoe is runs extremely well and is a pleasure to do so in.

I have been running in GT-2000's for many years. They are a reliable shoe, long-lasting, reasonably priced, and a good value. I will be 65 in October, and still pound out the miles after 45+ years of running. I would not buy running shoes from any other provider.

I have been a GT-2000 6 user for a few years and I'm very picky about trying another model. I need the toe box room and stability that the 6 has provided. I was not able to buy a pair of the 6 recently so I tried the 7. I am very happy with the way the 7 feels in the toe box and provides stability. Not much of a difference between the 6 and 7 for me. I will continue to buy the 7 in the future.
