When I took the boots out of the box I thought they had shipped the wrong size. They give the appearance of a much larger boot. They did not feel larger though. The toe box actually was painful when I tried them on. They are a basic looking boot but substantial looking. If you have narrow toes you might like these

I'm a 9 in most brands and the 9 in these fit great. I have very narrow feet and they were a little tight at the pinky toe, but it's nothing that wouldn't stretch with wear or at the cobblers. Really liked how light these felt, and the sole wasn't rock hard. I had to return the boots as the shaft is just way too wide. I double checked that I wasn't accidentally sent the wide instead of the regular size. At 5'8" 123 lbs I'm within the healthy normal range according to health charts, not abnormally slim, and I could fit my hand between my calf and the boot--even with leggings on. The side picture isn't very accurate as the boots have a pretty pronounced calf curve to accommodate a large leg, whereas the picture suggests that they're quite straight and slim. Unfortunately, very few cobblers adjust boot shaft width--it requires specialized skills. I had been wiling to pay for boot resizing as the boots are reasonably priced, but the closest one to me is over 2 hours away--and these boots aren't worth two 4 hour round trips to the cobbler.

Although these run a little wide in the heel for size 12, they maintain their shape well because the ankle is not over-sized. Note that these run very tall; I am 5'8" with long legs and these come up to my knee in the front (back is cut a little lower). Unfortunately, my narrower heel moves every time I step and I have to return these. Otherwise, they seem like a great boot.

The boots are very good looking, stylish, which is why I persisted in trying on size after size. However, same problem as with the small boots made by Franco Sarto, that I bought from Macy's last year: the sizes are really weird. I bought a 9, and it looks and feels like a 10. I am embarrassed to wear them. Very bad experience / purchase. This time, I ordered 9 and they were too big, again. Had to return them. Then ordered 8.5, and they were killing my feet. (too small) Can Franco Sarto find the right sizing devices, or people....because it is a pity to make such beautiful boots, only to have them unwearable because of the impossibility to find a size that fits. Thank you.

The tow box was narrow and they bunched at my ankle. They made a funny sound when I walked in them too.

I really like the style, but the shaft circumference at the calf is too wide, even with regular (non-skinny) jeans tucked in. I’m 5’6”, 125 lbs and I wear an 8.5 M. The boot is true to size and width, but the shaft is really wide. Unfortunately, I will have to return these.

I fell in love with the style, and ordered my size 8.5. Way too big!! Then returned it, and ordered 8. Horribly tight and short, hurting my feet. I had the same problem with last winter's Franco Sarto ankle boot. I wear a 9, that looks like a 10. Really, Franco Sarto, that hard to make the right fit?!
