NB 608's are hard to find and was very happy LL Bean is carrying them. I need a leather shoe for my work place and it's getting difficult to find an all leather upper instead of the mesh; which are a no no at work. This walking sneaker is comfortable and makes it through a full year of my abuse.

I'm an active almost 60 YO. I need a shoe that cushions my feet, especially my heels. This shoe specifically targets that. Also, I have a wide foot, so I need that accommodation. New Balance supplies a variety of widths. When I don't wear a shoe with the kind of cushion and comfort that New Balance provides, my body gets tired much more quickly. Thank you, NB!

I use these shoes for my walking exercise. I walk about 30 miles a week. My first pair lasted quite a while (several years) so they are durable and comfortable.

This is the first pair I've ever had in the 608v series, so I don't know if the 4 was better than the 5, but my brown 5's feel great to me. I usually get size 12 4E, but the toe box was a little too pointy, so I went up to a 12.5 and they are perfect. They are such an upgrade from the running shoes I have been walking hilly forest trails in since discovering how therapeutic the woods are in this crazy time. They have good support without being too heavy, and the insole is cushioned enough for me, kind of like the ride in my Subaru Forester, not squishy, feeling the bumps enough to get a sense of being connected. This is easily the best pair of walking shoes I've ever had.

I ordered these as I needed more support than my current trainers were giving me. I found that support in these shoes. I ordered a half size larger as suggested and I wear a fairly thin sock and they are perfect.

I am a mailman and finally gave up on the shoes/sneakers that we have available at the store where we purchase Postal clothing etc!
