I bought these to replace a pair of New Balance walking shoes that I bought over ten years ago. As with the other pairs of New Balance shoes that I have owned, the fit is snug but never too tight (provided that you follow Beans' suggestion and buy a half-size larger than your usual size); the cushioning is generous with excellent arch support. One peculiarity: the tongues tend to slip to the side of my foot after I have walked for a while; this is not a problem since the laces hold them in place, but it is a bit odd (of course, it may be just my foot that's odd!).

This is not a running shoe. It is more stable because it doesn't have a lot of cushioned padding. There are times when you want these features. They're good for people with balance issues. I have wide feet and got size 10 EE.

I first purchased these when I needed white tennis shoes for nursing in the hospital. But they provide a nice clean look so I have continued to purchase these when the old pair wears out. They are comfortable and look nice with shorts, blue jeans and anything else you might wear with tennis shoes. It is also a very reasonable price. Quite content.
