Disappointed with this version of the 608 shoe. This version has little padding or cushioning to it which gives it a cheap, stiff feel. This is labeled as version 5 and it is a stripped down version of the original very comfortable shoe that I bought years ago.

Casual use. Bought through the Norway Maine location, "Made in the USA." Disappointed to find they were made in Indonesia.

I had purchased a similar shoe about 10 yrs. ago. Was great, wore very well, looked "sharp" with long pants unlike "tennis shoes". They were nice and "cushy" when I walked. The "cushiness" was gone after 10 yrs. though the leather shoe still looked "new". That model is no longer but this one was the closest to those. I think the other shoe's toe box was more rounded - these seem a bit more "pointed". The other shoe had more of a "protective" strip around the toe box - these have a much smaller area protecting the leather toe box. Also, I think the sole of my 1st pair had more "cushion, spring" but these seem to be of a stiffer material, not so much "cushion, spring".

I'm disappointed . Tthe sneakers are a 10 1/2 D--my usual size, and the same size as my last pair of New Balance sneakers. But this pair is really cut too wide. In order for them to fit I have to wear 2 pairs of sox. Yes, the secondary pair is very thin --very light, black business sox. But the fact is my white cotton gym sox are not thick enough for me to wear this particular par of sneakers comfortably--and in the past they always have been. I love New Balance and I love Ll:Bean, but this pair really doesnt quite make the grade. My feet havent shrunk, I'm sure--all my other shows fit the same as they always do..

When I tried on the shoes, the shoe on my right foot seemed to draw my foot inwards like it was making my foot pronate. I had to return the shoes. I'm not sure if it was just that pair of shoes or the model itself. I have had many other NB shoes and did not happen.

the shoe runs lager then others it was to wide for me

This shoe has very soft leather that stretchs alot after a few times wearing.

I purchased the black new balance and returned it the next day. Didnt feel like leather and it runs small.

Am wearing the shoe for a time, hoping that it will prove better with wear.

I have worn New Balance shoes for years. Buying them off the internet is risky. The new shoes I received fit well, but feel hard. Had to insert a new insert. They just feel heavy and hard and make a loud noise when walking on hard wood floors.

Gave it a lower rating only because of the way they fit. The sides have been raised about 1/2 inch and by the end of the 1st day wearing this style, could hardly walk because the sides hit ankle bones at all 4 points. Had to put 1/2 inch sole inserts inside shoes to continue wearing them. The other NB changes, such as the normal toe shape instead of looking like Mickey Mouse shoes, were an improvement. Have to order on-line because a 12-1/2 size is not carried in local stores and a size 13 is to large. This style may fit you right out of the box but I will continue to try to order something else the fits like my older NB walking shoes that were made in the USA too.

I have difficult to fit feet. I had an old pair of New Balance sneakers (size 11 1/2, EEE) that were a perfect fit, so I wanted the same again. But none of the shoes I look at came in EEE. I wound up buying 11 1/2 EEEE, which turn out to be too wide. I'm a little disappointed the new pair don't fit as well.

Unfortunately it seems something changed either with sizing, or materials used. The fit is not as comfortable as the 608 v4 I usually purchase. The 604 v4 I found was the best fit ever, but recently I cannot find it in colors other than brown, or chocolate brown. I want a pair of black 608 v4 and I cannot find them anywhere. Online or in New Balance stores. The 608 v 5 falls short as far as being as comfortable as the 608 v4.

walking, installed an additional liner, OK now, also dry in wet weather, still like leather in cool weather. may buy a ventilated lighter sneaker in warmer weather,I need a higher heel for chronic back problem

I wear orthopedic inserts in my sneakers and have for years and have worn NB sneakers for as long as I can remember. I need size 9 2E. I returned a pair of sneakers that were way too narrow to be 2E. I like this new pair a little better but still still slightly tight. I'm hoping they will stretch so I can put in the inserts. My current 623's are perfect right out of the box as have been all the previous cross trainers I have purchased. I wish the sizing was more regular.

The right shoe is smaller than the left, and no, my right foot is not bigger than my left.

This version is pointier in thee toe box, the heels have no support and seem shorter and looser then v4. For me the blue version seems sort of big and one shoe seem bigger in the collar/heel. I also bought the black one and they seem tighter. My orthothotics don't fit in very well.

Like that they are white and mostly leather type instead of breathable, good for winter however the soles are slippery on certain surfaces which is not good for what I wanted them for. I always buy a 4E width (these are men's) and these actually are too small as they hurt my feet so I think you may have to go up on your width size. The other shoes I have bought from NB are great because they are wide enough for me.

I am on my feet at work and this shoe does nothing to help. My feet and legs hurt and I only work 6 hours. Won't buy it again.

Got these for work in a restaurant because of the non slip. They are better than sneakers or gym shoes or whatever they call them where you live, but not great at all if I walk past the dishwasher's wet floor. Also the "vent" area tends to run against the top of my for near the pinky toe and gets really uncomfortable by end of shift. Neither issue enough to return the shoes, but was hoping for something better given the price. Will look elsewhere when it's time for a new pair.

I've worn this shoe before. I wear it for coaching football. The leather shoe is good for dewy grass, and is dryer and warmer in winter, This pair is not as comfortable. The stitching under the insole is rough and has caused me discomfort.
