The width near the toe end of the shoe was good but the width on the heel end was almost equally as wide which is too much. My son's heels do not have the 6E width need that the rest of his foot requires. So, these shoes seem to fit good near his toes but are super loose on his heels. This causes his heels to slip out of the shoes with every step he takes despite the laces being tied. They are rubbing his heels because of it. It's strange because he has a pair of Nike 4E shoes that fit his heels perfectly but are too tight for the rest of his foot. I don't know if others have this issue but as for us we will have to return unless I can figure out a way to keep them from rubbing his heels.

Wherever there was extra padding or stitching there was extra pressure on my toes. There isn't much of an arch support or cushioning.

Size and fit were fine but back of shoe cut into my ankle bone. Could not wear it for any length of time.

Ordinary walkers with firm sole and little foot bed cushion. Ankle cuff is surprisingly thin providing a 'hard collar' at key contact point. Utilitarian flat bottoms use no contour or aggressive tread design. As described, these are walkers that prioritize stable, firm foundation over rebound cushioning. NB 608v5 are the 'K-Car' of the sneaker universe, personality free and unremarkable. A solid choice for uninspired fashion choice and utility.

I like this style of shoe, but it felt like it was marked a half size larger than it should have been, and when I got online again to look into returning and replacing it, I wondered if I accidentally got a men's size instead of a women's and that's what make the difference.

Problem: cushioning primarily in in sole which I have to remove to accommodate orthodics. Nothing built into shoe itself

he primary problem is that most of any cusioning is in the removabel in sole. I have to take the in sole out to accommodate orthodics. The she itself is uncomfortable. No cushio ing built into the shoe.

The sole is too hard. Even after I added my own cushion insole, it felt like walking on concrete.

The sole is too hard. Even when I put in my own thicker insole, it still feels like walking barefoot on concrete.

Size was okay. Problem is the sole is just too hard; even if after I put in my own inserts, it still feels like I'm walking barefoot on concrete.

Everything felt okay except needs a little more room in the toe area (size 9.5, 4e) and the tongue irritated top of foot.

Bought these for my husband. He said everything was fine except the tongue was not padded, which left him with discomfort on the top of his feet.

They seemed tighter than the last pair. I'm wearing them around the house, not outside. Hopefully, they will stretch.

Love New Balance tennis shoes! This pair is not my favorite. Bought to wear to the gym (treadmill, weight training) the cut around the ankle is too high which causes friction against my ankle bone. Stiff shoe, haven't worn them enough to break in yet I guess. This shoe seems to run a bit small, tighter toe box (Wide) than previous purchases in same size.
Don't think I would recommend this one.

Seniors, beware!!! This has got to be the most dangerous pair of shoes I’ve ever bought/worn. The sole has no gripping characteristics and after only wearing a few times, I’ve already slipped, having to catch myself from falling. I’ve walked on floors inside that feel like they’ve been greased. I have worn New Balance for years. Started with the 608’s, then went to 624’s. Couldn’t get the 624’s anywhere, so figured try the 608’s again. Big mistake. And BTW, the Zappos 365 day guarantee is a joke. Who’s going to keep their shoes in a box, in their closet and then say they’re not 100% satisfied. You have to wear the sneakers in the real world to be 100% satisfied.

There seems to be a new style of 608. Laces are different with loops instead of directly into the shoe. But mostly is the heel material. The new ones are extremely difficult to slide into. The heel is sloppy weak, folds over and the pull on strap is too small to get a finger in. I will not order these again unless I know they are the older style shoe.

I'm a recent new grad nurse and wanted some new shoes for work as my old ones were not cutting. Shipping was surprisingly fast, and I love that they work with USPS. Since getting them, I've worked a handful of 8-hour shifts and was disappointed with the comfort levels. At first, I thought they might need some breaking in, which did help. My second weekend wearing these were an improvement, so they might take some getting used to. The cushion gives me some good support, but at the end of a shift, my feet still feel very tired. It probably doesn't help that I work three days in a row, but my feet are still achy by the end of my work week. It is not as painful as it was with my old shoes, but I am a little disappointed since I saw so many great reviews for this pair, especially from other nurses. I was hoping these would be my go-to pair for work, but I will most likely look for other options. Some positives are they are quite stylish, and I have received a few compliments on them. I love the wide-foot option, and I like that I can wiggle my toes and engage my entire foot when wearing them.

I always wear size 8.5, and have worn New Balance for many years. This pair was so narrow my foot cramped, and I sent back. Hopefully the size with wide width will be better. Waiting for new wider pair. Zappos made the bad experience a great one. Thanks.

The sneakers do not provide the support or comfort that is noted in the description. They run small and are tight in the toe area.
