I bought these boots about 5+ years ago and they cracked. I loved them for snowshoeing and outdoor adventures. I replaced them with this version and the size 8 is smaller than the size 8 I had before. They are 40 European size. I’m a 40.5 and they are too small with socks.

suggested size based on Sorel website was 10.5, Zappos suggested I get 11, ended up needing 11.5.

I really wanted these, finally something is size 13. It was just too small and had to return. I liked the notch on the back that made them easy to come off. I would have even replaced them with a size up if they where available. First time a shoe size that didn’t work as expected for me.

Great boot, but needed a full size bigger due to the thick liner in the boot.

I just got these, so I haven't worn them a great deal yet. Love the style and look. My big concern was the fit. I'm technically a 13 1/2 shoe size but always buy size 14 for all shoes. These are size 14 and they are a bit snug. They are ok with a single pair of socks, but I was hoping to use a couple of pairs for ice fishing. We'll see if they are warm enough.

I purchased my pair of "Conquest" boots back in the winter of 2014-2015. At that time I was working as a security officer at Kirkwood Mountain Resort, and a good portion of my shift was spent walking across snow from lift to lift in various weather conditions. The built in gaiters kept the snow out of my boot, and the Achilles heel strap provides a nice snug fit. I've put over 100 miles on my pair, and they have held up extremely well. I also use them for snow showing, and the raised Sorrel emblem in the back makes a perfect place for my snowshoe strap to rest when I secure them to my boots. Overall very pleased with them and would by them again.

The "gator" top make the boots hard to put on because they don't open very large. It is definitely for flexible users, not for us older folks :0) On a positive side I feel like they will keep the snow out better.

I've had these boots for around 7 years. I love them to death. I've used them every winter, and only today did the rubber top crack and separate from the leather upper. I'm sad that they didn't last longer, but they've lasted quite a long time. They're comfortable, I've never gotten a blister from wearing them, and they're worth it. My only complaint is about the rubber cracking and separating.

These boots are great for snow removal jobs or anything where you'll be standing in snow for long periods of time.

Nice boot. Lightweight, durable, comfy/nice padding, true to size. I havent used them in the snow yet, so i cannot comment on warmth and waterproofing. They are a little pricey, i figured being that these are imported they would of been cheaper.
They seem pretty decent. Lets hope the rubber doesnt seperate.
Would of given "5 STARS" if boots were manufactured in the U.S.A

Overall a great boot. The fit is about a half size to big. The boot is a little difficult to put on but the tight fit is great while working in them.

Helo There, i own the a pair sorel conquest in black for about a month now. the black looks very much like a tactical boot. I used it when in heavy snow. This thing is like a beast, I didnt feel a thing, trudged through a foot of snow without feeling a thing. but i gotta warn you this thing is rated to -40 so it does get quite warm when you're indoors.
In my experience of a month, the boot was worth the time money and effort for a winter boot.
Thanks

This is my second season with the boots and they are wonderful. Sounds like the others haven't figured out that if water goes over the top the boot gets flooded. They are a bit clunky.

These boots turned me onto Sorel and I see no reason to go anywhere else! I had no plans to review them, as I've had them for over a year now, but was shocked at the neg reviews, so I decided to give some credit where it's due.
I'm a mail carrier in Northern Utah. These boots get a lot of time in the snow and slush, including in the 2 degree temp I woke up to this morning, and I couldn't be more confident with them. I've done everything but wade through ponds, and have never had a drop of water sneak through.
Pros: WARM, great in wet conditions. excellent ice traction.
Cons: Slight pain in the arch between my shin and foot. I won't blame Sorel, though, that's probably a sizing issue on my part.
I know many other people who use good boots, and often when a quality boot isn't working out for somebody, a lack of care is to blame. Buy a good Leather Protector like Obenauf's, and run over them before each season. I hate cliches, but if you take care of them, they'll take care of you.

I've had my Conquest boots for about 15yrs. they've broken in so comfortably! This year, pulled them out of the closet for the first time, strapped them up, and went out. When I got home, I noticed the lower rubber area on one boot had cracked. When I pulled them off, the whole sole almost came off. I guess good things can't last forever! Wish they could be resoled!

I received my boots last week and wore them hunting for two days. The first day I had to of the lace eyelets pull out and on the second day 3 more. I was surprised by how thin the metal in the riveting is which is likely the cause. I ordered a half size larger than normal for heavier socks and the fit is fine. Warm and good for walking. I will be taking the to a local shoe repair shop to pay for upgraded lacing hardware.

I am on my second pair of these boots. The first pair lasted about 5 years and I am into the second winter season with my current pair. I work for a utility company in the snow county. I am in the deep snow all day during the winter months. The small surface area causes the boot to push through light to semi-packed snow fairly easily which makes it difficult carrying equipment into the back country, but these boots work well with snow shoes. During frigid days, these boots to not hold up to the cold that well. The boots are light and comfortable, so if you are moving around in light snow or ice pack, these boots will not slow you down and suffice in keeping your feet warm. I do not recommend these boots for standing for long periods of time as the insoles tend to flatten and standing body heat in your feet will not stand up to long term exposure in the cold. I put my own insoles in these boots and wear good winter work socks. The upper portion of the boot is not supportive. I would prefer it if these boots were more rugged in the design of the upper portion of the boot. The clip in the back that holds the Achilles adjustment strap in place is always coming off. This is the reason I visited the site to see if I could order replacements.
I switch back and forth between these boots and a competitor's higher end boot. The competitor's boots keep my feet warm all the time and have great "teeth" for snow, but have poor arch support, so day-in-and-day-out use of them causes my ankles to hurt. I use my Sorel Conquest boot to give my ankles a break. I generally keep both sets of boot with me at work depending on the snow conditions.
Other posts here have stated that the boot has come apart and the rubber portion has split. I have not had that problem. But, it could see if Sorel changed supplier who provide a poorer quality of material or if they changed manufactures who have lower quality craftsmanship that such a problem would occur. I have been lucky that I have not paid full price for these boots. The sticker price on the Sorel website is far beyond their worth. I have found them for cheaper prices. It just takes some searching and waiting.

I purchased SOREL CONQUEST boots a few years ago. they are very warm and fantastic traction in the snow. However, this year when I put them on to go out into the snow, I noticed that the rubber was severely cracked and there is a separation at the point the rubber and leather meet. I just sent a complaint into customer service. I will let you know what response I receive.

I normally wear a size 11.5 . I ordered this size and to small... I exchanged them for a 12 and those are to small as well... These boots do not fit true to size. i'd say wearing thick socks and all order a size and a half bigger than what you wear for them to fit.

The boots started out fine but go to put them on for the second winter and the rubber sole on the side has cracked and broken through. For how much you pay for them the should fix or replace so I will be going to LLBean for my lifetime replacement pair!

All in all I like the boots I received but the problem I have is that inside the boot just above my Achilles tendon there is something in side the boot (material bulging through the inside) that is rubbing pretty badly against that area and causing a great deal of discomfort. It is reasons like this why I hate ordering online products as you don't have a chance to see and feel how something fits "correctly". The style and most of the design of the boot is exactly what I needed for Colorado other than this particular discomfort. Haven't had time to contact Sorel and deal with this yet. I would normally recommend the boot but this one issue is rather difficult to deal with.

I purchased these boots for rugged farm work which oftentimes requires working in soupy mud and/or below freezing, harsh conditions. The seal between the leather upper and the rubber sole (about three o'clock on the left boot, nine o'clock on the right boot from the toe) gave out barely five months into owning the boots, which had a solid three months' use. Hoping to get them repaired under warranty as they're less than a year old, but I simply cannot spare the boots for the four-week repair period. I wear plastic bags on my feet for now until the end of mud season. Stick to snow and non-mud if you want these to last.
