I have bought several pairs of Tsukihoshi shoes over the years, and I have always found them to fit at least a half size short (width seems fine, though definitely not overly wide). I don’t know why the brand suggests sizing down. My biggest concern with this shoe is that it leaves deep grooves in my toddler son’s toes! I felt inside the shoe and there is a very pronounced seam around the tongue that seems to press into his little feet. He’s too young to communicate if it’s painful, but it’s the first pair of shoes to leave marks on any of my children like that. These shoes are stylish and look to be well made, but I wouldn’t recommend these shoes for the above reasons. Comfort comes first when shoe shopping for kids, and these just don’t cut it. I wish I’d noticed before my kid had worn them in the backyard, or they’d be going back, pronto.

Perfect toddler shoes. Kid walked very well and seemed comfortable with just the right amount of support and flexibility. The toe area is nice and roomy but it doesn't make the shoe look bulky.

These are lightweight and flexible. They’re cute enough, and washable! Easy to out on and wide toe box.

Love these shoes for my wide footed (almost) 2 y/o! First bought the “Extra wide” New Balances and we couldn’t even get them on his feet, but these for perfect! Next time I will start with the Tsukihoshis.

These shoes fit my son perfectly. They are the first shoes that he hasn’t tripped in and that he doesn’t throw off! He loves them so much that we bought another pair one size up for when he grows out!

Love tsukihoshi shoes for our very wide footed toddler. He loves these shoes too so they must be very comfortable. These are definitely pricy, but worth it when you can wash them and you know they are comfortable.

Love these for my active 1.5 year old! He has really smelly feet, but these shoes are the best I've found at keeping odor under control. Easy to get on and off. Plus they are machine washable, and after washing, they look brand new.

Great shoes for my 1.5 year old. He has average width feet and these fit well and are relatively easy to put on, compared to a lot of other kids shoe styles. I wish Zappos carried them in all the other colors that the manufacturer makes.

The shoes run large, so size down by half a size. They are not as flexible as some other early walker shoes, but offer good support.

Seems like it would be flexible for a walker but we couldn't get it on. That's the most necessary thing with 1 year old. To be able to put on easily and then walk easily. Returning due to this.
