Cute pattern and very supportive. But the very stiff upper has no flex and hurt my very wide feet. Will have to return.

These run small. I usually need a 39 in shoes like this, but the 39's were way too small and the 40's fit, but were tight. I'm not sure if the wool top will stretch with time, but since they felt so tight I decided to return them. I have been on a slipper search for months now. I want something with good support that's going to keep my feet warm. These felt like they have good support but are just too narrow/tight to keep.

To be clear, these are not the same as Mephisto soles and footbed. Melphisto sandals are my go-to for slip ons because of the sole and arch support. This Mobils version of Mephisto is not the same--don't assume it is like I did. Also, the reviews here and elsewhere about the wool coming off scare me. Back they go. I really liked the look of these shoes, and they are a lovely color. After reading all the reviews, I ordered a size larger, and they were too long, and too wide. In fact, I didn’t find them at all comfortable. The only clogs I truly have loved are Danskos, although decades ago, I had a very comfortable pair of LL Bean clog slippers. When I returned these, I ordered a pair of Giesswein Veitsch slippers. I’ll get them tomorrow, and write a review!!!

I am looking for a replacement for my Birkenstock Amsterdam clogs, which I wear as house slippers when the weather is cold. Due to a toe joint issue with the toe bar on the Birks, I can't wear them anymore. This Mephisto clog is pretty stiff. When I tried my usual size 38, I couldn't even get my foot into the clog. I sized up to a 39, and it was too long, but I still had to tap my toe on the floor to get my foot all the way into the clog. And that was just with a very thin pair of socks--not thick ones like I usually wear in the winter. I need a house slipper that I can easily slip on and off, and these weren't it. I also agree with one other reviewer who said the heel height is pretty high for wearing around the house on carpet. I returned these because of these issues. Sadly, I had to return the shoes. I've worn Mephisto for years and had high hopes. They were way too wide for my narrow foot. Disappointed.

These slippers are the most comfortable I have ever owned. I suffer with plantar fasciitis and morton's neuroma. I have no pain when wearing these slippers. They feel wonderful and supportive on my feet. My only complaint is the holes in the upper fabric!!! Very disappointing. Mephisto, can you please improve the wool topping or better yet offer them in a soft leather top!!! They are expensive and comfortable but should last longer the one winter's use as house slippers. I hope you can remedy this issue as others have mentioned the problem also.

Not comfortable. I’m returning them Highly disappointed that they’re not Mephisto but actually Mobils a ister company. The footbed is totally different than a mephisto shoe

I purchased Mephisto Thea years ago and loved them. I recently ordered them and don't believe they are really Mephistos. Nowhere on the box or on the slipper does it say Mephisto (the ones I bought years ago had Mephisto on the insole and on the box). I looked on Mephisto website and they don't even have this slipper. They are not comfortable and not the usual high quality of Mephisto; I ordered my normal size 8 and they are too small. I am very disappointed and am returning them.

the heel height in relation to the toe area height felt low to me and I felt a strain or deceased support -- will not feel comfortable when worn for longer

First, the good: The footbed is SO COMFORTABLE! Even though they felt a little big, I figured it wouldn’t matter bc I was just wearing them inside, & I loved the footbed & desperately needed something like this so I kept them. I loved these for about the first month… The bad: These stretched out like crazy so I could barely keep them on my feet, even with thicker socks, ? & the grey top layer of material got scuffed off so quickly & easily, just from wearing them around the house. I bumped into the stove drawer a couple times & on an interior door (I had just moved into new home & wasn’t used to how far the drawer hung down from the stove &/or an interior door closing on its own). The pink bottom layer looks ridiculous showing through the hole that started as a small tear & ended up sloughing off over a couple weeks. The hole is the size of a large apricot over the big toe: neon pink vs light grey looks so embarrassing but they’re a tripping hazard, anyway, so I stopped wearing them after almost hurting myself (I’m a skier & grew up dancing: I have good balance!). I would be OK spending this much on good slippers that I wear around the house, but these were a very expensive mistake!

Fit and size were fine, a little on the small side. This is actually my first review after many years as a (very satisfied!) Zappos customer. I've never been more disappointed with a pair of shoes. I bought these to wear as house shoes about 4 months ago and they are already wearing out in both toes and it seems like the wool has even stretched out to the point where my feet and ankles have started sliding around and even rolling over the side a few times. When I say these are house shoes, I literally mean they are only worn around the house--not outside, ever. I bought these as an "upgrade" from my Haflingers, which I thought were not worth the money when they wore out after 1-1/2 years. These cost more and lasted a pathetically short amount of time. It's actually quite shocking. I doubt I can return them at this point but I can discourage others from making the same mistake.
