Eight years of continuous use. Thousands of miles walked in every weather - rain, blazing sun, snow, ice. Not a single rip to the straps. With waterproof cover it is ready for any weather. I cannot recall any knapsack that has withstood so much use and abuse.

I use this for traveling. Fully loaded, it fits nicely under the seat in front of me during air travel. Once I get to where I'm going, I can remove the packing cubes I use to employ the pack for hiking or sightseeing. It's durable and high quality in every way...material, zippers, construction etc. I would recommend this pack to anyone who wants to travel light. It can handle 3-4 day trips if you're a minimalist, and it's a nice complement to a carry-on bag for much longer trips. We use it every time we travel.

I use this pack for traveling and can fit at least 3-4 days worth of clothes and toiletries! It is also very comfortable even when carrying a heavy load.

I bought it for the comfort and all the organizer pockets inside, and the bungee for wet rain gear or a hat outside. Shirt-size packing cubes fit perfectly. I keep using it because it's always the right size.

I bought this pack a couple months ago for weekend adventures and it's the perfect size for a long weekend adventure! I can pack at least 2-3 days worth of clothes and it's comfortable to carry and I love the color. Also, I got it on fake which was an extra bonus!

I purchased this pack to use for work. In addition to my normal commute, weekly I take a train to another office and need to bring more stuff. My shoulder bag was not able to handle the extra load comfortably so I went looking for a solution. This pack holds a laptop and all the accessories, a large binder/padfolio, plus lunch, even leftovers those large cube shaped containers. Also, the dual water bottle pouches on the sides are perfect for a 1L bottle (though a tad snug) and a coffee thermos. I have also used this on several day hikes with great results, but it does not have a camelbak clip at the top. One surprise is that the back part that sits against your back and the inside on the SENTINEL GREY pack are Neon Green. It would have been nice to see that in the pictures on the site. It doesn't bother me at all but my wife isn't a fan.

Great pack. Packed for 6 days of travel and for everything nicely. Plenty of hooks to tie my trail runners onto and my jacket into the adjustable straps on the side. Took it on a 10 mile hike in Mt. Hood. Very comfortable. Only issue being the back, although padded and comfortable for the heavier loads, does not breath. At all. I thought that the hike made my back sweaty. Then it happened on the walk to the airport. Overall excellent daypack!

Got one in 2011 for a high school backpack. I tried different bags and brands. This bag has been my Go to Bag every time. Other bags are too stiff and rough, they easily tear at the straps, discolors with outdoor usage, or have major zipper problems. I have used this backpack for school, hikes, commuting, sports bag, air travel, road trip, and military. Been in the cold Northeast, California desert, and Carolina humidity. I've beaten, thrown, washed, dropped, and overloaded it. This is a great backpack model with the only things to improve on my older model is reinforce the top grab handle, make the bottom of the bag durable like adding a rubber layer, and add loops to effectively add items but without off balancing the backpack. I would recommend this pack to someone who wants a long lasting bag that will out last any trend or fad.

This is my do-it-all backpack: daypack, camping, & airport travel. I was looking for a pack that does NOT have a separate zipper compartment for a laptop and yet still accommodates a laptop. I want all the space I can get in a smallish backpack. A separate zippered compartment just for a laptop adds too much bulk and weight. I never knew this feature would be so difficult to find. Thank you, Osprey! This Quasar does just that. It has a cushioned laptop sleeve inside the main pocket. The front smaller pocket has an organizer for all your gadgets, pens, etc. There is an additional smaller front/top quick-grab pocket for a phone or glasses. Side pockets accommodate standard size disposable water bottles and larger size Nalgene type bottles. There are two features I wish this pack had: I wish the front had a stretch-pocket rather than the pull-cord thing. And I wish the main compartment fully opened "clam shell" style. That would make it easier to pack for travel. Otherwise, this is the perfect pack for me.

I teach school and bought this pack to carry my laptop and all the usual briefcase stuff. I love the feel of the pack when I carry it. If I didn't need to keep it mostly clean for work it would be my day pack for everything I do from hiking with the scouts to hunting in my woods. When I retire in a couple of years it will still be my daily pack.

Use this for college. Has great & easy access to computer pouch (I use 15" macbook but 17" should also fit easily). Sometimes I walk and other days I take a bike...cinches down very nicely when I ride my bike and does not bounce around at all like my old backpack. Love the easy access to all pockets and the extra handle on the top. This is the perfect college backpack. Would not have worked as well in HS when I had to carry a ton of books for 5-6 classes all day but it has more than enough room for my 2-3 classes a day for college plus my notebook computer.

This is the perfect pack for everyday carry. My second Osprey pack to date. This is my go-to bag whether I am carrying for duty, deployment or just around town. This pack is lightweight, ergonomical and carries all the items required for my full pace of life. I have spent years trying to find the perfect pack for work, leisure and everyday that is not bulky, heavy and will provide comfort while carrying for long hours. This certainly makes the mark. Thank you Osprey, job well done with this rucksack!

I'm a photographer and this has recently been my go to carry on and day exploration camera and gear bag when traveling. I use liners for the camera gear and pack food, water and jacket and hat in the pack. Everything fits and all the compartments, zippers etc work well and it's light.

I use the pack for work and it's a perfect size for me. I just wish there were more interior organizer pockets and all the zippers had double slides.

I bought the black Quasar 28 backpack back in December and have been using it daily for the last three months. It's almost the perfect backpack for my needs. Nice 28 litre capacity. Sleek black exterior with a minimal approach to the logo, which I prefer over the older models. It has enough functionality for use as my daily carry to work and also rugged enough for day hikes out in the bush. It also has two exterior water bottle picks which is a personal preference for me. A few suggested improvements would make this bag a five star bag: - The interior lining is too dark. With the black interior, I find I am spending more time searching through my bag looking for items. A brighter interior colour will solve this issue. - With a 28 litre capacity, I rarely use the waist belt. Unfortunately there is no way to hide/remove the belt when not in use. I have to let the straps dangle or clip them together and position the strap between my back and the bag. Other nice-to-have features - a luggage tag or hidden passport pocket for travel purposes - one more quick access pocket on the front of the bag instead of the bungee straps - extra ventilation on the back frame

I bought the pack for daily use to and from place of work, and mainly to carry my 15" ROG laptop. It has plenty of space to fit the laptop, papers and folders, the charger, and all my assorted EDC's(extra clothes, towel, vacuum flask, keys, Beats headphones, books, etc.) My main gripe is on 3 things: the shoulder straps tend to give me shoulder burn (also experienced this on my Kestrel 38), the main compartment i wish would open up more, and the laptop compartment needs a lock or some fastening to keep it in place because it tends to move around as you walk. I love that the pack is lightweight, although could use a little more protection and thickness at the base, and a little more color contrast in the colorway. It has been with me for only 4 days and i love using it, and i've set aside my 5.11 and Mountain Hardwear in favor of the Quasar. That said, i'm a great fan of Osprey packs, the Kestrel was my first and used it in a great many excursions local and abroad. This Quasar is sure to get its fair share as well.
