The good: No-nonsense design. I love the understated elements of the pack's build, including the lowkey branding. There is only an embossed Osprey "skeleton" logo near the bottom, and a small white patch with the Osprey brand name embroidered in. That is the only thing you'll see on the outside of this pack- no reflectors, daisy chain, gear loops or even stretchy bottle pockets...great for a simple daypack! The waxed canvas of this bag is quite impressive- very abrasion resistant on the trail/climbing, but looks sharp in town as an everyday commuter. The straps are the nicest and most comfortable of my many Osprey packs (ranging from 11L to 55L). The adjusters for the shoulder straps are metal- a very nice touch. Even fully loaded, it carries comfortably and keeps a low profile. Although I haven't used it yet on a flight, I think it will be great for travel. Even at my local beer garden, the "security strap" comes in handy to be able to safely attach the pack to a chair or table. For the most part, it strikes a sweet spot between minimalist design and practical/useful features. Quality is on-par with my mountaineering pack from a high-end Canadian brand. The not so good: Everyone has their tastes with "minimal packs", but to me, the front, vertically-zippered pocket leaves something to be desired. It is roomy and easily swallows a puffy or rain shell, but it seems a bit incomplete. It would be nice to see a little suspended mesh pocket up top by the keyclip to keep the keys from swinging/getting tangled with other items. There is a mini divider/pouch thing near the bottom of the pocket, and again this feels incomplete. There is no way to close this pocket, so it goes unused. A zipper or even a simple hook and loop closure would do the trick and give this pocket some actual security for whatever is inside. Overall a smart and simple design. Just as I've enjoyed with my other Osprey packs, I look forward to many years of hard use!

Great bag! I love the matte fabric and it hold a lot. If you love having a zillion pockets for everything? This is not for you, but I find it allows for organization while still having things in sight. Wish it didn’t have the prominent logo, but otherwise is perfect for my needs and super comfortable. And why does the description not mention the hidden water bottle pocket? I bought and returned many bags; this was hands down the best.

Wow! This pack is unbelievable tough, and craftsmanship and quality of materials are outstanding. I use the pack for commuting, and essentially as my briefcase when at work. It works very well for that. It is comfortable, fits nicely, and holds all I need - laptop and cables, water bottle, notebooks, etc. I also transport workout clothes back and forth. I'm very happy with this purchase.

This pack is nice. It rides high and seems to carry itself. You don't feel like you're being tackled from behind. I one-strap it because I'm from that generation (80s). It's comfortable and doesn't want to fall off my shoulder. It also doesn't look like I am mountaineering. Get one.

Great pack for daily use, light activities. Bought for myself as my lightweight daily hiker and campus bag, My other light hicker bag from Osprey needed to be swapped out for something I could use for more general activities.

I really like the pack, I just there could have been a couple more pockets. Its light weight, spacious, and love the color

Exactly what I was looking for

Its wonderful - everything I ever dreamed of in a bag. The front pocket is surprisingly useful.

This backpack is sturdy and well made. The zippers are heavy duty and look as though they will not jam or break like other packs I have owned. I like that the zipper on the external pocket is covered/concealed so that if someone tries to unzip it while you are wearing you will definitely know. I got caught in a heavy downpour yesterday and it kept the contents dry. This brand came highly recommended and though I have only had it a week, I am very happy with it.

Great pack for everyday use. I love taking it with me to school each day and the straps are oh so comfortable.

Great backpack. I use it to travel for work and can carry my laptop and clothes for a few days (2-3 days). Great quality, color, sizing. I recommend it

The pack is a good size for me as a commuter or for classes, not exactly the size I would need for a weekender. I don't love the asymmetrical zipper as a lefty, but that is a very minor issue only faced when I am trying to open the main compartment without fully taking the bag off my shoulders. It looks great and feels sturdy and I hope I am using it for a good long time!

Really great backpack. I use it for my commute to work. I am 5'7" and it fits well and holds a ton without being bulky.

The quality is epic! nice design, nice zippers, nice pockets. I like the color scheme and the light weight of it.

Super soft material I love that about the arcane series! It makes the bag pliable so you can adjust the items to fit. I only wish the interior was made of lighter colored material to make it easy to see stuff.

It's a solid bag and I know it will last a lifetime. It's a great size for my 17" laptop and I can fit a light jacket, water bottle, small purse, and laptop accessories easily in it. I am not as bothered by the water bottle pocket as others are but I have a narrow, low profile water bottle that fits nicely in it (S'well brand). The J zipper doesn't bother me either though it limits your ability to open it while it's still hooked on one shoulder (meaning you can only do that feasibly on one side of your body). My big issue with the backpack is that the straps are really tight on my shoulders (which is ironic because I have very narrow shoulders--I wear women's size XXS/00 tops) and it distributes the weight high on my traps, practically in my neck. I personally would not buy this backpack model again.

The backpack seems high quality and has a lot of padding for a laptop and internal organization. I got the orange color and its a lovely shade. Its also pretty comfortable to wear. A couple of items that arent so great: 1. Doesnt fit a decent sized water bottle (i.e. 24 oz Hydroflask) well with the sleeve on the side and 2. As the backpack is pretty structured, the interior doesnt hold much and seems very limited after I put in my water bottle and laptop. It barely fits in a flat-packed lunch at that point.

I got caught in the rain, and everything inside got damp. I know the bag isn't waterproof but was expecting at least a little protection. The yellow version of the bag gets dirty looking quickly, but at least you don't have to worry about damaging a waterproof coating when you wash it...

There are a few comments re: water pocket. I find it great for coffee tumblers. I carry coffee and water daily to work. I simply place my 40 oz Hydro Flask inside the backpack. There is ample space and the backpack is the perfect height. I am 5'3 and i love how the backpack fits on by back. Love the comfort, love the design.
