Elvis is a Miniature Pinscher, and he is a little on the petite side. We have Kurgo harnesses for the others, but they were very bulky on him. This was perfect! Light, but easily adjusted to fit him.

It’s thin and light compared to most harnesses especially ruff-wear harnesses but not at all flimsy and more than I need for my medium sized dog. Pulls on overhead and then clip on either side around the mid-section. Two things I appreciate in the design are the reflective striping around the chest and shoulders and the little pocket on the back panel. Perfect size for poop bag roll. We never leave home without them.

Bought the XS for my 6-month-old Bedlington Terrier. He measures 17" at the widest area which means he fits between sizes XXS and XS. Unfortunately,, the problem is at the front opening where the neck resides. It's way too big at the smallest setting on the XS and too small at the biggest setting on the XXS. I'm debating if I need to return all the Ruffwear harnesses I purchased or see if my dog grows into one in the future.

I love this harness for my Chinese Crested. I did have to adjust the neck as it was too large by simply unstitching the tabs so they could be tightened. it is exactly the same as the part around the chest now. I have no idea why they would be sewn down so that you can't make an adjustment. Doing that made it the perfect harness and I have tried so many that just have too many other issues. I bought an extra small as his chest it 19 inches

I agree with the other reviewers that the neck adjustment runs a bit too large. My dog's girth is 19 1/2" and she weighs 21 lbs. I got XS. The girth fits perfect. I set the neck the smallest setting and it is still loose but tight enough that there is no way she will wiggle out. I have Ruffwear front range harnesses too and they have the exact same issue but they work fine for my dog even though the neck part is a bit loose for her. I got the Hi & Lite harness because it is much cooler than the front range harness (no padding, much lighter fabric). It is still comfortable and does not irritate my dog's skin (she has sensitive skin). The color (I got orange) is so cute and highly visible that it will keep my dog safe! If the neck size is not an issue for your dog, this is a great harness! I always have great experiences with Ruffwear and I was excited that Zappos was selling them.

Bought the XXXS for my 1yo Maltese. Measured 11" at the widest area immediately behind the front legs. Ruffwear claims XXXS fits 9"-13", however, the front opening is way too big and my Maltese is able to slip her way through the opening and out of the harness.

THE fit was great and my Basset hound loves it!!

This is a very light harness, and it fits my Min Pin well. I have since purchased two more for my other two Min Pins because this one was so easy to put on, and I felt like it wasn’t bulky. Also, dries really fast after a beach walk or washing. Doesn’t seem to hold onto hair they way some other harnesses do (like in all the little crevices).

My Aussie loves it! Easy to put on over her head and very light.

I love Ruffwear. This one is much thinner and lighter than the other harnesses I got from them. easy on and off, sturdy material. I love it!

Very comfortable, adjustable, and lightweight for my dog! Slips right on him and we are out the door!

This harness is exactly as described... light. Fit perfect. Some reviews comment on fit. There extra length tucked into the harness if you need it. I have two different shaped small size fitted dogs and both were very easy to adjust and fit. Quality feels really good.

Max wears a lot of ruffwear and small tends to work for him. His chest is about 25 inches. I bought this in a small as well. At first I felt it was too small but I think it’s ultimately fine. The straps are skinny and don’t seem to get bigger if you go up a size just longer so I think a small will work. I had hoped to put a roll of poop bags in the pocket but found that a new roll bulges too much making it not fit flush so I’ll probably just throw an emergency bag or two in the pocket instead of the roll. It’s been hot here in California and it’s only February so the light weight harness seemed needed for our walks. The front range he usually wears is a little warm for the heat.

Bought this for a 13 pound dog and had to return it. Item was too small. Problem may have been poor measuring on our end. Item looked very sturdy and reliable, but perhaps too much so, for a small dog. But seeing as how we never really got the harness on the dog to an incorrect size . . . who knows. Our score totally reflects our situation and not the item itself.

I have other ruffwear harnesses for my dog - the Hi & Light sizing was completely different. The XS fit in the girth but not the neck and the S fit in the neck but not the girth. There were rough sewn parts on the area next to her fur that made her itchy. The straps are not as wide and therefore cut into my dog. Perhaps this very thin/light harness works for really small dogs but it doesn't work for my black lab puppy. Disappointed because we wanted a lightweight harness she could wear inside all day since we tether her in various rooms of the house.

SO bad. I adjusted it perfectly and it slipped off my dog when he lunged for a squirrel.
