Customer Reviews Pendleton Outback Hat

I'm not one to write reviews, but I appreciate when others do, so I'm writing one to make a contribution that will hopefully help someone. I'll start by saying that I love this hat. I've never owned anything like it but decided I was ready for it as I turned 40 recently. I ordered it in the putty color (size large). I have a more robust head than most so first ordered the XL, but it ended up being too big so got the large, which fits perfectly. The brim on the XL tended to flop down in the front and back just a bit, but on the large, it stays up, which is what I wanted. The only thing I would note to be aware of is the color. The way my computer shows the putty color makes it look lighter than it was is in real life. It's more of a darker shade of grey/green/brown in real life. I still really like the color so have no complaint but wanted to mention it. The material is very soft and comfortable, and although I don't plan on crushing the "crushable" hat, I feel fairly confident that if I did throw it in my pack, its original shape would bounce back pretty quickly. It's got more of a timeless "folky" vibe than similar hats that resemble something out of an Indiana Jones or Crocodile Dundee movie. Being a folk/bluegrass musician, folky is what I was going for. Basically, it's a sweet hat and would recommend.

I've worn Pendleton Outback Hats for about 20 years. They always hold up really well and they hold their shape great. I ride a motorcycle also and when I'm out on the motorcycle I can toss the hat into the trunk or roll it up and stuff it in the saddlebag, it always returns to it's original shape with no ill effects. Zappos was a pleasure to deal with, I recommend them very much, they treated me wonderfully.
