Great boots, i usually wear i 9.5 wide and the 9.5 fit fine. Really comfy and no need to break them in. The negatives are they do make your socks slide down as you walk, and the insoles come out every time I take them off but these are just minor annoyances

Great arch support but the pull on style was awkward to get on without pulling my socks tight up to my toes. Also they felt clunky while walking and then also irritated my ankles. I was very disappointed because I usually love Born because of their great arch support.

This is my second pair of the Born Cove. I first bougth these in 2018 because I needed comfortable shoes with good arch support but that also kept my feet warm in cold weather. These boots exceeded my expectations. They are lined inside with a flannel-like interior that maintains warmth. The sole is all rubber with good grip so good for icy, rainy weather. They are not advertised as 'water proof' but I've worn these boots in really bad rainy/snow and water never seeped into the shoe. I am still wearing my pair from 2018, and I just bought a second pair just to have them as back-up. They are stylish and look great with skinny or tapered jeans. I highly recommend them.

These boots are incredibly comfortable! I'll be wearing them on my next walking tour of Europe. They're a bit clunkier than they look online but overall I like them enough to keep them. They have lots of cushion in the footbed and comfortable arch support. I have wide feet, high instep, narrow heels and wide toes yet these boots fit like slippers! I have other Born shoes and boots and they're always comfortable!

I bought these for a trip to NYC because it was going to snow some and be very cold. First time I wore them was a full day of sightseeing, as in 20,000+ steps/9.5 miles. Kept my feet warm and comfortable all day. My foot is very narrow but these fit well with thicker socks. They are a little clunky, but that doesn't bother me.

The first pair I received in Green was defective--looked as though someone used glue to seal up a defect in the seam. I easily sent them back and re-ordered them in Gray color. Perfect. They arrive today. I usually wear a size 10 and these were perfect. They had plenty of room in width and the footbed was well cushioned. I would say they run true to size, but with a little extra width compared to the usual medium width. The grey suede is perfect--it's a great neutral and because the suede is very soft, there's no need to break them in. They're soft from the start.

I really love this boot for it's rugged look and waterproof exterior. I've just had trouble getting the sizing correct based on other Born boots that I own. I mostly wear a 6 in Born shoes/boots, but in this style that was too tight (couldn't have worn socks). The 6.5 has been sold out so I tried a 7 and they were way too big. Guess I need to patient and wait for the 6.5, fingers crossed that size will work...

I have a high instep on one foot, and these pinched a lot. Because of their lining material I don’t think they will stretch out. Sad that Born doesn’t make these in wide. That would have been the solution.

I have two pairs of Born tall boots in a 6 1/2 that fit perfectly. These appear to be a half to whole size longer when compared to my other Born boots. The room in the toe box is great and the insole seems comfortable. The ankle is WAY too big for my ankle. The sole is a bit clunky, so when walking the ankle is hitting the front and back of my ankle with every step instead of moving with me since it’s so big in circumference. I’m worried that it will cause irritation if I were to keep them and do a normal amount of walking in them. I noticed in the photos posted by other women that like them, that the ankle of the boot fits snugly or at least a lot more closely than they do on my ankles. They’re well made as you would expect from Born, but just not quite right. I’ve thought about trying a half size down, just not sure that would solve the huge ankle and somewhat clunky sole issue.

I loved these shoes but am returning because my sock slides to front of boot every time I wear them.

Very nice boots. Why can't they make a 10 1/2?

Amazing boots, exactly what I was looking for. I'm usually an 8 but sometimes 8.5 in boots, so I ordered both sizes to compare since some reviews said they're small. I found them true to size, so I stuck with an 8. I want to offer some insight on the "eat my socks" issue that other reviewers have mentioned. It's true—they are sock eaters, but it depends on the sock. I usually wear thick boot socks in the winter, and those were the culprit here. When I switched to a thinner, tighter sock, I had no problems. I also added a thin insole (the kind you get at the drug store) which also prevents slippage. While I would prefer to wear thicker socks with boots in the winter, the truth is, these are really warm. There's no break in period and they're incredibly comfortable, but I also think they look really good. I got the brown suede. They are chunky and have that rugged vibe, but they're still polished. I haven't worn them in the rain yet, but I don't foresee any issues there. Stick with your usual size, bust out the thin socks, and get these boots.

Thanks to all the good reviews here, I was able to narrow down my search for the perfect European trip boots to the Born Cove. These were the clear winners of the brands I tried. The Coves have great support, they're waterproof and sturdy. It's a nice clean looking boot that's versatile. I had to get the smooth black leather elsewhere because Zappos was out of my size, but the suede ones are very nice too. The gray color is quite nice.

Good quality and true to size. I walk and stand all day for work. I live in the city and have to walk to work. These boots are comfortable and support my feet all day long! The style is simple and classic for causal work. I've been using these boots for a month and no wear nor tear so far. I recommend these boots.

These boots fit true to size and were incredibly comfortable right out of the box. I wore them around my house for maybe a total of 3 hours before I committed to keeping them by wearing them outside. We had a lot of snow and slush this past weekend and these boots kept me warm and dry as I trudged through sloppy parking lots and sidewalks. They are very stylish--not as streamlined or sophisticated as the Neah by Born. The Cove has more of an edge, which I love. I wish I would have purchased them months ago!

I live in the mountains so I bought these boots as a cute version of a winter boot to wear when there isn’t that much snow and they work perfectly. These boots are definitely waterproof and pretty tough, they are easy to clean and look really good. They fits perfectly and are very comfortable with some arch support. I’ve been looking online for a pair of chelsea boots for months and nothing was exactly what i wanted except these. I was initially interested in blundstones but I tried them on in REI and they felt so tight on the feet and the leather didn’t even look like leather it was so thick, it looked rubbery. However these boots look like high quality leather boots. They have the perfect amount of heel and good grippy tread. They rock!

This boot is so great. It looks cool, it’s warm, and it’s very comfortable. Perfect for the elements. My feet stayed warm and dry while trudging through wet ground of the Irish countryside. I highly recommend.

I tried on dozens of black leather Chelsea boots, including other Born boots, Sorel, Sperry, and Clarks. While the Born Cove boots were a little more chunky than I was originally looking for, they were exponential more comfortable than any of the others. The stitched sole and waterproof quality outweighed the fact that they weren't as sleek on my petite frame as some of my other shoes. They're still cute and work for my business casual office, though. They were comfortable right out of the box, and I've put a dozen miles on them in the past week without as much as a blister. I have narrow feet, and haven't had any problems with the insole coming out.

I wanted these to work so badly but in my opinion you need narrow feet for these. I’m a 10/10.5 and ordered a 10 at first but it was way too small. I returned for an 11 and it fit perfectly except across the top of my foot. It squeezed my foot so bad I was losing circulation. I think the issue for me is these are made to hug the tops of the feet like clogs and those just are too tight in my experience. So I’m very sadly returning. Except for that one spot in width, these felt so comfortable!

As another reviewer observed, if you wear a size 10.5 you are basically screwed. The 11 is just slightly too long, and way sloppy wide. I could've gotten away with the length issue with a thick sock, but they just felt too loose and sloppy. Otherwise, these have decent arch support and are well made. Please please please make more shoes in size 10.5.

These boots are warm & have a great sole - meaning they are easy to walk all over Paris in without feeling the effects of hard cement. I liked that The suede is giving- meaning not hard leather on my oh-so-princess like feet. They are lighter than the Blunderstone and just bit wider - which again made them More comfortable for me. I think these are great traveling boots.

I wanted to love these shoes because I need some waterproof boots for Europe that will fit my high arch, high instep foot. They ran a half size too small, but the 8 1/2 boots were comfortable on my feet if I didn't walk. The look of the boot is OK, however the thick lug sole and the weight of each boot was a big deal breaker for me. These shoes are over 3 lbs total and that's just too heavy to lug around Europe and too heavy for my poor leg that sometimes has a sore knee. The weight combined with the ugly, tire-tread looking oversized lug soles would trip me up if my leg were to get sore and not lift as much as it should. So back they went. If you don't mind the weight or the thick, ugly lug sole, the boots are a good option for high instep women who want a waterproof boot. I'm going to have to look further and long for the old days when boots were cut a bit more generously so my instep didn't hit the top of most styles and when soles weren't 3/4 to 1" thick.

Sooo comfortable! I bought a bunch of boots to try and these were the only ones that fit great and were comfortable. Unfortunately, while trying them on around the house, they slowly pulled my socks down towards my toes. I tried multiple types of socks, but these boots pulled all of them down. I'm sad the be returning these, but they're just not practical for me.

Too narrow for me, and kind of shapeless. These pots suffer from the same shapelessness that many Chelsea boots do, too big at the ankle so they slosh around like galoshes. If they fit me in the foot part it wouldn’t be so bad, but they are too narrow and don’t come in wide.

I got these for a trip to Ireland this past October for the unpredictable weather and exploring! I brought another pair of sneakers (also waterproof) and only wore them for a couple hours and wore the Born Cove boots for the remaining 10 day trip. These were super comfortable, warm, and puddles were a none issue , nor was the sideways rain (the only rain in 10 days) my last night . Arch support was sufficient for me as I suffer for occasional plantar fasciitis. No need to break them and I wear them just about every day ! Love these boots so much I ordered them in another color.
