Should not have listened to reviews... The boot definitely runs true to size. Currently waiting for the smaller size (6) to come in, but based on my other Born boots and how these (6.5) are large, I will say they are true to size. I remember them definitely feeling snug width-wise in the very very beginning, but they are real leather and loosen up after a couple uses (I broke them in wearing around the house). Looking forward to having a versatile pair of boots I can dress slightly up when needed, but able to walk miles on European cobblestones streets AND be prepared for the sudden spring rainfall

I bought these shoes for a wintery trip to New York City, and they did not disappoint! They were really great right out of the box, I had no time to break them in and had no issues running around the city in them. I really appreciate that they're also waterproof! I normally wear a 10 1/2 wide and sized up to an 11 to account for thick socks and found the width to be great. I have collapsed arches and have a tough time finding comfortable shoes and could not be happier with this purchase!

Best. Boots. Ever. Dog walking, gardening, run to the garden center, store, coffee etc. Durable enough for all the projects and hobbies but stylish enough not to embarrass your tween on errands or after school events. Easy on off and super padded comfy.

I typically wear a 7.5, but have been getting 8 in boots to fit wool socks. I tried both 7.5 and 8 for this shoe, and the 8 has a bit more room and isn't as tight on the arch of my foot. I figured if the leather "loosens" then I can always add an insert. It was comfortable from the first try, the shoe is very well constructed, cushy, and nice enough for dresses. I can see this going from season to season as a rain-snow-slush boot, but it is dressy enough to wear even in nicer weather. I tried several pairs of boots before settling on this as a cold-and-wet-weather shoe. (I considered Blundstone and Ariat, which seem similar, but they're a bit more expensive and not as pretty. The Sorels that look similar are not as warm.) I ordered it in cream, which has a brown sole and elastic, and I think the light color makes it look less bulky and heavy, and the full grain leather (vs. suede) makes it more season-versatile. I have no issues getting my foot in or out, and don't even need a shoe horn to get it on.

This was the best purchase I've made in a long time! As a teacher in New England, I can wear these boots to work and they transition right out to the snowy field for recess. They are warm and waterproof like winter boots but still look nice. They are very comfortable to walk around in all day -- once I start traveling again, these boots would be all I need for hiking around a new city during fall/winter travel!

These boots were comfortable right out of the box, for hours at a time. They’re warm. They also look good with any pants, or with casual skirts/dresses and tights. A great pick-me-up for the winter blahs!

I’ve tried on several pairs of lug sole Chelsea boots and these were the best. More comfortable and stylish than the Sorels and Blundstones. Born boots always have a good fit for me. Very comfortable, warm and stylish. I can walk around the city in them for miles and my feet don’t hurt. I tried on the leather ones of the same style and they were not as comfortable, more narrow.

I love these sturdy, stylish boots. As always with Born, they fit perfectly without a break-in period.

These are high quality stylish Chelsea boots that are worth the cost. They have high quality durable leather. For a classic shoe style like this one I think it's worth it to spend more and get high quality. If you take care of the leather they will be with you for a long time! So versatile!

I love these boots. I bought 9.5 which is what I usually wear and they are perfect. They felt like slippers right out of the box. So beautifully crafted! And everything seems to wipe right off even though I got the bone color. They are beautiful and I get so many compliments!

I'm an average size 8.5 M and this boot fits me comfortably with a little room for cozy socks. Quality, water-proofed leather keeps my feet dry and comfortable.

I really wanted Blundstone’s but I couldn’t get a good fit, perhaps due to the unisex sizing. They were too stiff, too short, too wide, and pinched my toes. The Born Cove is soft with plenty of toe space and super cute. I found this style to be true to size, unlike some other Born boots which seem to be oversized for some reason.

These were great shoes. Wore them at work in Italy nearly every day from November to April.

These shoes are LOVELY! The leather is spotless and gorgeous. I wore them all day right out of the box. So comfy. Fit as marked. Not too tight. Kept my feet warm and dry.

Gorgeous. Born really made a sharp boot here. Very impressed cuz I love chelsea's. Im an 8.5. Ordered 8.5 and they are about a half size too big so im waiting to try the 8. Feel very very comfortable and hope the 8 fits well.

Everything about these black (not suede) boots is awesome. I couldn't be happier and they are my new favorite boots! Fit: I have flat feet with a wide toe box and these boots fit perfectly. The material bends to the shape of my foot. My toes have plenty of room. There is no stiff arch support pushing against my feet. It took about 3 miles to break them in which is a miracle for me! Very high quality material! Durability: I've walked a few hundred miles in them so far and they have some creases but the inside of the heel is still in tact and the sole somehow hardly looks used. They have continued to do well in puddles. I've worn them mostly in the city but also on a beach, a farm, and in the woods. They do great in every environment.

I ordered four different types of waterproof Chelsea boots, and these were my favorite. I felt like Goldilocks - they were just right in all areas. They were snug around the ankles but not too snug (no uncomfortable rubbing), the perfect medium width, fit true to size, and had good moderate support, and were not too rigid or too loose/soft. They were comfortable both with tights and with thicker socks. I wore them around inside the house for an afternoon before deciding, and they were very comfortable. They don't seem to need any break-in time, and I look forward to putting them to the test on an upcoming trip.

I have finicky feet; it takes me about 10 tries to find a comfortable pair of shoes. For me, these are it. If you have a slightly high arch and instep and like a roomy toe box, with decent width at the ball of the foot, these are great. Easy to put on even with no zipper. Great color. I hope they hold up well.

I love these boots! They are perfect for travel. I wore them for 10 days straight on a trip in Spain through wet and dry weather, and I still reach for them every day at home. They are comfortable, stylish, waterproof, and have enough support to walk over 15,000 steps a day. Highly recommend.
