I went with XL though my foot does not measure that large. For me the fit is not too large, easy to put on/off and has PLENTY of heel cushion that I wanted. They do not shrink up or pill after hard use and washing. I do lots of daily hiking and these are the best socks I've found, do not shrink AND are priced as much as 50% lower than some of the other brand hiking socks. I own 3 pair, and will buy more.

The Hiking Crew fits well in length and width. It's wide enough at the top to not bite into my calf, yet it stays up. (Haven't washed them yet, though.) I don't like the grey section running up from the heel, but I'm willing to put up with it. I gave up wearing Thorlos years ago because the knit was too coarse and rubbed blisters on my bunions. The knit is softer now. We'll see how I do after walking 6 miles in them. I just ordered a 3-pack because I need more basic black hiking socks. The price is higher now, too.

Perfect fit for my men's size 7 feet, very comfortable, plenty of cushioning. Good price with the sale. Never been disappointed with Thorlo socks. Thanks Zappos!

I wear a size 13, but went with these to be on the safe side (sometimes larger socks have the heel up on my calf) and they fit perfectly. Very comfortable.

I have purchased and worn Thorlo maximum cushion socks for many years now. The are extremely comfortable and wear very well. They are my go-to socks for my active life.

These are SO comfortable. The extra padding is right where it needs to be on, on the heel and ball of the foot, so the whole sock is not super-thick. The padding is not light-weight - it is serious padding. I hike wearing trail runners and these are now my go-to sock.

I requested a free pair of socks in Dec 2008. I received them early Jan 2009. I was suffering from sore feet standing 12 to 16 hours a day working remodeling retail stores. Still do to this day. They were walking socks, felt good, weren't too warm, I was hooked. My first order after reading the catalog was for a dozen hiking socks. Pure softness and cushioning. I also purchased a pair of very good SAS shoes. Been a satisfied Thorlos customer since then. I've received other specialized socks as gifts but nothing compares to the quality of Thorlos.

I finally got to use this sock on an 8 mile hike. As expected absolutely perfect!!! Very soft but supported and wicks away the sweat! Over the years have tried others but no one can compare to Thorlos! I have 15 pairs and will ALWAYS buy this brand! Simply the BEST! The most comfortable sock out there.

These socks have a very thick cushion on the bottom. Great for anyone who gets sore feet from standing on concrete all day.

These are the only ones I use. I do have other socks from a different company but I dont use them anymore.

These are very versatile sox......I use them for hiking and for house slippers. Very comfortable and durable. These and the medium weight trail sox are my favorites.
