Regarding sizing, as with every single Zamberlan boot I have ever owned (I have many!), sizing in this boot runs a little long. That means, most people (that means you) should be buying them 1/2 size smaller than you probably think you need. I typically wear a size 12 in every dress/running/casual shoe I own...but not in this brand, I wear a size 11.5 in pretty much all of my Zamberlans. Given this is a technical shoe, you have to size it correctly or it won't work for you. Too big and you can get blisters...too small and you can hurt your toes...get it right and you are in HEAVEN! I bought this boot last year for a variety of hiking and outdoor work uses. I use their Vioz for backpacking and the Trail Lite for hiking trips with my family. The Vioz Hike is for my more rigorous uses, like work, shed hunting, and so forth, which I do a lot of, or when I am in some nasty terrain, like shale, rock, and the like. I like the leather uppers on this boot, very high quality, and the fact that they, like all of my other Zamberlan's, never leak. The rubber toe bumps are nice too. The all-rubber outsole is a bit heavier than on my Vioz and Trail Lite's, but I won't have to resole it for a very long time, plus it gives me extra shock absorption when working. Similar fit and feel to my Vioz, but without the rock forward motion.

"ZAPPOS" does not know what it is talking about concerning shoe size. A 45 EU is not a 10-10.5 US. A 45 EU is a 11.5 US sizing. The entire size chart is wrong. Also a perfect fit is needed with these boots because of the break forward step sole. If the boot is to big, you will roll and fall forward. Why rubber instead of PU midsole? Is it more dampening than PU? An EVA midsole would break down like a sneaker.

Both my husband and I have been buying Zamberlan’s Vioz GTX boots for years. For me, they require zero breaking in. Note here: we both remove the original insoles and put in expensive ones immediately. My husband actually wears his out walking the dogs for an hour every morning over rough terrain. Mine will last forever. I wore my green pair all over Paris in 2019…we absolutely walked everywhere instead of taking transportation. One epic day, after 15 miles, my feet were a little tired—not hurting, just worn out. Another note: my red and navy pairs squeak a bit. Mildly annoying for about 30 seconds before I quit noticing. The rocker sole is awesome.

These do run a half size large. I normally wear a size 10. 9 1/2 fit perfectly.

I have a low volume foot but I need width for my toes. This boot has a little more width in the toe area compared to other brands. I use an additional insole which makes the boot fit nice & snug around my skinny ankle. Great ankle support! I like the flat sole better than their other model that has the higher heel. This is my 3rd pair over the last 15 years. Really a good quality boot.

Great boot all around! Unfortunately they don’t come in a wider width. Would have been too long to get the correct width. Going to try Vasque or Meindl?

The boots appear to be good quality but you would expect to have an option on width with a boot that costs 300.00 . I originally ordered 9 1/2 as that is my usual size those didn't have enough toe room so I exchanged for a 10 now they are pretty long. So I am undecided on what I'm going to do next. If it wasn't for Zappos being so easy to get along with I would be pretty disappointed. I have made up my mind that I'm not going to wear a chinese made boot so my options are very limited.

Excellent quality boot. The fit is a Euro 42 1/2 as indicated on inside of the boot.

The boots feel like they are made for my foot. The heel sits a little lower than other boots which I prefer. Some boots feel like the heel is simply too tall, not these. Vary stable

I'm reviewing the Vioz Hike: These boots are very well-made with high quality materials. They just don't fit my feet well and are somewhat uncomfortable. I followed the advice of other reviewers and used the Zamberlan sizing guide and ordered a half size smaller than I normally wear. The toe box was way too cramped, so I exchanged for my normal size boot. The toe box is better but still feels a little cramped and now I have slippage at the heel. To get the room in the toe box I need, the boots are too long. I guess these boots just run narrow, and wide widths are not available on this boot. If you don't have a narrow foot, I would look at another model of boot.
