Love these boots.
Laces come untied a lot but I assume that will change with wear.

Shoes feel slightly narrower than I had hoped for. My orthotics fit ok so I am hoping that the width across the ball of my right foot will stretch as I get them broken in.

Excellent shoes, heavy but soft leather, immediately comfortable BUT the fit is at least a ½ size bigger than you are used to. After returning two pairs, different sizes, I decided to forget it and buy in person. Unfortunately I need extra wide and that’s not easy to find in a store. To bad, I really wanted them to fit!

No open tongue makes it very hard to put your feet inside the boot.

I am returning these despite my initial enthusiasm because the right foot hits my ankle bone when I flex my foot and somehow the toebox, although seemingly roomy, is not comfortable. I tried them on with my orthotics. Apparently there is a 8000 Dunham plaintoe boot that has six rather than five fastenings and comes higher up on the ankle. That might work instead, but I am keeping a different style. I do think having the different style of fasteners common to hiking boots would make it easier, but if you have a foot without problems (a dream to me) these might be wonderful. I am posting this in case those with ankle issues or wide forefoot have interest.

Size ok length-wise, but not in width. I was able to squeeze/force my orthotics into the shoes, but insufficient room to accommodate my feet. I normally wear Merrell mid-boots, comfortably with my orthotics.
I'd also recommend:
Merrell Moab mid

The fit is good. Still wondering about the quaility. Seems to be rather stiff which is an indicator of lesser quality.

It's hard to find men's boots size 8-1/2 or 9 in 6E width, so it's good these are made. These feel reasonably sturdy after the first few uses. Out of the box, the boots appeared a little darker over the toe box -- that is cosmetic and will quickly disappear within a few weeks. I would prefer a darker boot. These boots have closed loops instead of hooks at the top -- I would prefer hooks to allow taking the boots off and putting them back on without retying the laces. That brings up one additional place these boots can be improved, make them about an inch taller to provide more ankle support (similar to the New Balance MW1400). Another plus: plenty of room for orthotics -- they easily accommodate my thick orthotics. They are reasonably comfortable immediately, not requiring a break-in period. They are a little looser than the similarly sized New Balance MW1400. Durability -- an unknown at this point for me -- I walk 5 to 7 miles daily on gravel and asphalt surfaces.

These are good looking, comfortable, and well-crafted goods ... However, these are NOT work boots. I would call these casual outdoors boots designed for walks on paved or graveled surfaces. It is not obvious from the photos, but the uppers are a very soft leather that would become damaged or stained easily in most outdoors or off-road use. The uppers are not the type of top-grain leather that would (IMHO) be required for serious outdoor use, either recreational or work-related ... I will keep them for basic suburban or very light duty 'hiking' as they are attractive and comfortable, but they are certainly not comparable in any way to 'real' top-grain leather work boots. Maybe something else in the Dunham line would be better ... As such, and given the fact that they are made in China, they are probably also a little overpriced.

My son tried on several sizes until we found one that fit his foot width fine, but when he actually had to try to walk in them, they were too loose at the ankle and he felt they were very stiff, not a comfortable fit for him. He's 17 and picky, YMMV.

These boots felt a bit tight. They felt both sorter and narrower than I had expected. The arch support just did not feel right to me.

Comfortable and good looking boots.
Traction was fair.
Not the least bit waterproof. It wasn't even raining, just wet vegetation and my feet were pruny in an hour.

Some of the metal grommets for laces are ragged and sharp, causing laces to catch and shred. Hope the rest of the boot is better workmanship.

This boot was comfortable at first but got sloppy and the ankle support and foot stability decreased dramatically with time

Fit is correct for my wide feet. This is a light-duty shoe masquerading as a boot. Don't be fooled. I bought the first pair at full price on Zappos website and they shipped me a pair of dirty, worn shoes that had a broken lace-retaining rivet. They got it right the 2nd time but I'm disappointed with the shoe's design, thinking that I was going to get a boot that was good for something outside of sidewalks and carpet.

The length was good, but the width for the toes was tight. Greatest problem was trying to get my orthotic into each shoe, virtually impossible. I don't think this will respond adequately to attempts to loosen.
I'd also recommend:
Merrell Moab boots. have worn them for years. stretch easily. orthotics in easily

They have clearly changed manufacturers. I ordered this exact pair of shoes a few years ago, and they were borderline too wide, but I decided to keep them. After those old shoes wore out, I ordered the exact same model, size, and width. The new ones that just arrived are painfully narrow. There is not way these are 6E width. They're not even 4E anymore. Either Dunham has been bought out, or they have changed to a new factory that does not make to the same standards.
