Ecco shoes, both oxfords and sandals, have been my choice of footwear for 20 years. I know my feet have changed over the years. I thought this shoe would be perfect for my needs -- a lot of walking on city sidewalks. The width across the widest part of the toes was a 1/2 inch too narrow. The shape of my pinky toe was visible! Therefore, I have returned both pairs that I had ordered.

I had a pair of Ecco Soft 7 sneakers when they first came out and loved them. But then Ecco changed the heel to a lower cut and wider fit that slips on my foot. I'd been searching for another style that would work for my somewhat wide, size 7.5 foot with a high instep. Many of Ecco's shoes do run narrow, but the trick to Ecco's lace-up shoes is to completely remove the laces before you put them on your feet -- they are laced very tightly at the factory. Relace the shoes while standing so that your weight causes your foot to spread to its widest. If the shoe is still too tight after that, then the style is too narrow for you. I found the Aquet with its wider, rounded toe to be perfect in my regular size 38. I do have to replace Ecco's insoles with ones that provide more arch support, but that is easy to do. The Aquet is not as stylish as some of Ecco's other sneakers, but it was instantly comfortable and that's what I need in a travel sneaker when I'm going to be on my feet a lot. The leather is nice and soft and will require little, if any, breaking in. They were so comfortable, I bought them in both the black and the white. Ecco's generally last a very long time, but I did notice that these are lined in a textile fabric instead of leather like some of their other shoes, so I'll have to find out if they are as durable. Overall, I am quite happy to have found a comfortable replacement for my old Soft 7's.

I wear a 9.5M but needed to get the 10M in this style. Sleek look and very comfortable - feet feel supported.

My foot runs slightly narrower than medium, but narrow shoes are harder and harder to find. This shoe fits perfectly. ECCO shoes are well made and attractive, and I expect this pair to last.

Comfortable. Didn't need to be broken in. Great support. Like the non-slip sole. Great for someone with balance issues.

Fit was perfect! Very comfortable and leather inside & out! Provide great support for my elderly mom and stylish too!

I was so disappointed that this shoe did not work with my feet. The leather is buttery soft, and these are beautiful shoes. Finally I found a pair of shoes where my heels did not slip in them. However, the fore part of my foot and toes felt like they were in a vise. I have narrow heels, and my the front of my foot is usually a medium width bordering on a wide width. The toe box of these shoes just wasn't wide enough for my feet, and these shoes are only available in a medium width. These also did not have the arch support that I needed. I swapped out the insole for an arch support insole, but the arch support insole also did not have the support that I needed. Do not allow my difficulty with fit with these shoes deter you from trying them, as I have very picky feet, when it comes to shoes.

I wore this same shoe (slight difference in the stitching for something like 15 years, until they fell apart. Was delighted to find ECCO still made them, and ordered them again. Perfect fit!

First of all, I am a big fan of ECCO shoes. My initial impression about this style was that it was somewhat boring. I decided to try them them on even though I was so-so about the style. Well, they were so comfortable! I have some serious foot problems but found these fit and provided enough support even without replacing the existing insoles. I first purchased the size 39 and they were perfect barefoot but decided to size up to a 40 to give myself the flexibility to wear socks here in our cold climate. The leather is supple and very high quality. I purchased them in black, am considering the Dove color but would love to see ECCO add more colors. I would buy them in a flash.

The arch is too high for me. Otherwise the shoe is very good.

Ecco has changed their fit. I really loved the Ecco shoes I got in the past. The toe box of this shoe is a little narrow. I do not have wide feet. The heel especially did not fit, they slipped up and down. Really disappointed they do not make their soft slip on styles they had in the past.

Extremely disappointed not in Zappos they are still the best! Disappointed in ECCO in the past they’ve put out excellent quality shoes. Not sure what went wrong with this item. I’m a true 9 in almost every pair of shoes once in awhile I will order a 9 1/2 especially in a closed toe shoe just for extra breathing room. I do not have a wide foot. I couldn’t even get my foot in I was having difficulties not normal for me since size 9 is my go to size. I was looking forward to wearing these on my trip to Europe. My research is not over on the best walking shoes for Europe ECCO did qualify whatsoever.

I bought a size 7.5 M (38). and returned today. Toebox was not roomy enough and the heel was too narrow. Not enough arch support. Leather is very soft. Thanks Zappos for always being so nice! By the way, I tried on a 37 in a store, too small, and tried on a 39, too large. The store didn't have a 38 so that's why I placed an order with Zappos.
