Horrible. Horrible. Horrible quality. Bought these 3 months ago from the Birkenstock page, they’ve faded bad at the sole turned gray & started wrinkling & cracking & where the buckles are faded so bad it was gray & the bottom sole wore down at the heel significantly. Literally every piece on the sandal would of needed replaced IN ONLY 3 MONTHS!! It took over a month just to break them in! Birkenstock said they offer no guarantees or warranty & it would cost me the same amount to repair as to buy new (which I’ll never buy another) the knock offs last longer than the real ones.

LOVE these sandals. I have 3 pairs of Birkenstock slippers that I bought during Covid while working from home and they gave me excellent support and comfort. But, for traveling, I wanted a more “stylish” design, so I ordered and returned other brands and styles UNTIL I decided to give these black oiled leather Birkenstocks a try! Well, they are NOT going back! They are staying with me AND to my travels in Europe! I love the black leather soles that are easy to keep clean, give great support and comfort, plus compliment my toes! My feet do not slide around in these because of the built-in arch and molded form!

Love this! I ended up getting the narrow width and they work fine!

I wanted sooo badly to like these. I have 10 year old suede soft footbed narrow 39 I was looking to upgrade. The color is so cute, and I looove the big buckles. I wish they made a soft footbed because it was just so hard on my feet. The footbed has a lip that kind of comes up and should go all around your foot, but it felt like it was digging into my foot bones on the sides of my feet. I know there’s a break in period, but this was just too uncomfortable. The other weird issue is that the first strap across the toes seems to be just a tiny bit lower than my OG birks. They cut right below where my toes are attached to my feet. So you can basically see the full length of almost all my toes, plus a little of the top of my foot where it meets my toes, my OG birks, the strap comes right above that. It somehow just isn’t as flattering when you can see the full length of the toes with the top of the foot too. Maybe because my toes look longer or something? It was unflattering enough that with the break in being so rough I had to send them back. I kept them for a week or two though because I so want to love these!

I have worn Birkenstocks for years but the last 2 pairs have felt at least a half size smaller. I compared them to ones I purchased a few years ago and they are indeed shorter and more narrow.

Love birkenstocks and the big buckle sandals but the pair I received seemed like 2 different shoes because the textures were so different and noticeable. The shoes were also not sent in a birkenstock box. I was so excited for the white pair but they will have to go back.

I am a Birkenstock faithful and have owned countless pair over the years, due to their uber comfort and quality. That's why it pains me to write this review. These are hands down the most uncomfortable Birks I have ever owned. The leather does not feel or wear like it is oiled. They are still extremely stiff after months of breaking in. And it really disheartens because they are ridiculously cute! The adorable big buckles are a perfect style snip but I'm afraid these are going to be passed on to a friend with more foot pain stamina. Wah wahh...

LOVE THE BLACK BIG GOLD BUCKLE SANDALS. I am a 7 1/2 - 8 and get size 39/8 in Birkenstock and Mephisto sandals to prevent toes from bumping against risen insole rims. These sandals get compliments when worn to dinner on cruises. They are dressy and so comfortable out of the box. Had a little trouble getting a pair from Zappos that had not been returned after being worn and abused then overlooked by Zappos Return Dept. I cannot comprehend women who abuse with wear sandals/shoes then have the nerve to return for refunds. Zappos, please tighten up on these refunds. No reason to give refunds for sandals another will not accept as new. Thanks to Zappos for working to get me a pair I could accept even though these did have areas I had to work with a Birkenstock brush to pass for keeping. ZAPPOS, PLEASE LISTEN UP IF YOU WANT TO KEEP MY BUSINESS!

First pair of these. I was debating on whether or not to get them. I feel like I made the right choice. I am an 8 1/2 normally and a nine in a running shoe. I got the 39 based on the reviews. Perfect fit!

It’s hard to believe, but Big Buckle is my first Birkenstock purchase ever! I usually stick with Chacos but decided to branch out. Love them! I purchased the 38 N. Fit well after being adjusted. The one downside is that your feet tend to stick to the footbed and squeak when walking. But I love the black leather lining anyway! My feet tend to run on the narrow side. I have several pairs of Frye boots in 7 1/2 for size comparison. I would purchase another Big Buckle again!

At first they felt tight. But I slowly broke them in and how I wear them every day. Love them

Do NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THIS AND OTHER BIG BUCKLE....all colors... do not come in normal.........ONLY NARROW!

I read a lot of reviews and waited to pull the trigger on these. I am so thrilled that I finally ordered them because they are beautiful. The large buckle really dresses them up. I’ve received several compliments on them and they didn’t require any breaking in. Very comfortable. I had read reviews that they were narrow but I think they fit like my other Arizona’s.

Ordered small (7 instead of 8) and narrow instead of wide/reg-glad I did they fit just rightjust need to break them in

Have worn Birkenstocks a long time. These are the same size and fit as past styles. I wear a size 10 shoe and have a fairly wide (chubby) foot. 40 narrow is the size for me. The foot bed is a bit slicker than in the past but not bad. Overall its a dependably comfortable shoe and nice to have an updated style. The black looks great with the big silver buckle and is kind of a step up in style to be a bit more dressy. Love them!

I purchased my first pair of Birkenstocks in college. Saved my money and got a fantastic pair of suede forest green Birks. My roommates teased me relentlessly about them. I didn't care then, and I don't care now. I think you either understand the aesthetics and comport of these shoes or not. Love the big buckle and oiled leather. I didn't have any issues with excess glue, width (my feet are medium width), or breaking-in (although you will always have an adjustment period with the muscles in your feet and legs if switching from no -support shoes).

I have been wanting a pair of Birkenstocks and this pair did not disappoint! The bigger buckles give them a more modern look and I love being able to adjust them. The buckles are not plastic like some other reviews claim. (At least I don't think they are). I ordered my typical size and they fit like a glove. The only reason I rated them 4 stars for comfort is because you need to break them in. The front leather strap gave my toes a blister when I first wore them. Now they are fine. Also, the cognac leather color is beautiful! I've already received tons of compliments. Splurge! They are worth it!

The shoes are great. It's the color I did not love. The ecru is a bit darker than the online pictures and almost has a yellowish tone (a true ivory I suppose). I just did not love it with the gold of the buckles. Please restock more colors in the regular width.. love this style.

I’m a big fan of Birkenstock but these I didn’t like. All the rest of my Birks are soft bed and I didn’t realize these weren’t and they were super hard under my foot compared to my others. I had to return them for this reason.

The oiled leather is a good quality, and the large buckle makes the shoe look very modern and stylish.

Fit was fine. I wear a size 9.5/10 depending on brand of shoe. These have good arch supports, however the straps rubbed my foot and breaking them in would have been painful

The fit is good for me (10 W) but the leather is stiff and very uncomfortable. I didn’t return them because I am hoping wearing socks with them around the house will soften the straps.

This shoe was very confusing to me. I am a 9 1/2 and went to another shoe store to try on some other Birks for size reference. From reading reviews and doing a try on I decided to get the 40. While they "fit" my toes kept hitting the front of them and they were very clunky (i kept hitting my ankle with them and the front would catch and make me almost trip) , but I don't think I could have gone up a size. I decided to try and wear them around the house. The right shoe was "somewhat" comfortable, but the left was not at all. I felt like I was walking on a very hard surface when wearing them, absolutely no cushion at all. The pair that I received were also already scuffed. I really love the look, but they don't seem like that great of quality for the price and somewhat inconsistent. I will be returning them.

The footbed is different from all my Birkenstocks. It’s like a hard plastic. Kills my feet. Too late to return. I owns lots and have never bought a pair so uncomfortable. Paid way too much to never wear. Style is cute but that’s it!
