I bought these boots in the Fall of 2019. I was looking for a patrol boot that was warm enough for extended periods of outside wear in cold temperatures, but not "clunky". I found it in the Merrell Thermo Rogue. They provide excellent traction on slick surfaces. They don't get too hot while sitting inside the squad. My only issue is that I wished they would have come in a wide size at the time I purchased them. I ordered them a half size bigger to accommodate the lack of width; they fit fine. I'll buy them again and suggest them to others who work in cold and snowy climates.

They are comfortable and warm. I have used them for one winter going into the second and they worked great. The only problem is there is nothing to grab at the rear of the boot. The back needs a finger loop or something to grab to make putting them on easier. The low top on the rear wants to go under my heel. Other than that they are excellent winter boots and would have received five stars..

Iv been wearing there boots for 8 months now. I will say they are extremely comfortable after a short break in period. They also grip very well, provide hood ankle support and have strong laces that don't slip loose.... however I recently submerged my foot for the first time in roughly 3in of water which barely touched the first lace and my toes were wet immediately... I checked the boot for punctures amd found non so I then ran a hose over the bottom 3rd of the boot amd bang toes wet again. What the point on am 8in boot that can't handle wet to the laces....

No breathable. When your feet are wet from the heat, the boots do not let moisture evacuate and you get cold feet.

Warm and dry, nice and light. Run a little tight in the toe box so would probably order a half a size up next time.

I really like the style and its stability in the snow. They are a bit tight and don't keep warm on snow.

After about a years worth of use, the outsole peeled right off at the heel. I frequently take my boots off by pressing against the heel with my other foot. I have never had any other boot where the outsole came right off. The boot laces only lasted about a year too. They began to fray and quickly fell apart.
I kept the boots because how expensive they are. So I superglued the outsole back on and replaced the laces with Kevlar laces. Well - year two and they boots are no longer waterproof.
I expect the price of these boots to last longer than 1-2 years. I would also like to point out I did not wear these boots during the summer. So really it was two seasons before they fell apart.

After wearing them for one shift the soles already began to separate from the boot on all sides of both boots.

Bought these for my husband as a Christmas present. Today was the first real rainy day and after 3 hours in the rain, his socks were thoroughly soaked. He left the job site to come home and change shoes/socks and I literally watched him wring water out of them! Terrible product if you're looking for something with "exceptional waterproofing" as their description says!

These boots are not waterproof, they have a dry membrane which is suppose to be waterproof and is not waterproof do not waste your money on this boot until they fix this and get rid of the dry membrane, instead buy the 190 dollar rogue 8" tactical waterproof boot. That boot is actually waterproof and says waterproof on the boot unlike this thermo boot.

I want Merrill's to remember customer specific orthopedic needs when they have been long term customers and have agreed to meet their design teams on the road. This style is not as safe for me as my older mocs destroyed by Brooklyn Shelter workers.

Spent the extra money on Merrell select 2 grip winter boots for walking dog everyday in the freezing weather and I may as well be wearing my flip flops. Not warm, not comfortable, not happy with them At all. Rate them a fat zero.
