I have been looking for a quality pair of boots with little to no heel, for comfort when walking around all day. This is the most I have ever spent on a pair of boots, but they’re exactly what I was looking for and I know that Frye boots can stand the test of time. I ordered the grey color, which is really more of a tan/grey, and very pretty in person. The leather is very soft, and I love that the two zippers make them very easy to get in to (I have high arches, so this can sometimes be a problem). My only complaint is that these run a bit small and are a bit narrow when I put on socks. I have average width feet, and have never needed wide shoes in the past. I normally wear a 9, and had to exchange them for a 9.5.

Beautiful soft leather boot. From trying similar ones in the store I knew to order a half size up and glad I did. Love the double zip! They’re certainly not the boots you wear to do a lot of walking at once but I didn’t expect this when I bought them.

Beautiful boots. I love that they are all leather inside so that I can wear them without socks. Frye puts out really beautifully crafted products.

I have been fighting the price of Frye’s for years. However...these are awesome right out of he box. My custom orthotics fit perfectly...my high arches slipped into the boot easily. I’ve worn them all day and they feel amazing. These are super cute!!

Fits like a glove with thin merino wool socks. If your btwn sizes, or wear thicker socks I’d recommend sizing up. They are high quality and super comfortable for walking around town, and can be dressed up or down. I got the “smoke” color which looks dark brown with some grey undertones. Highly recommend.

This is a beautiful boot. Foot went in easily, especially with the double zip. It has a classic, sleek look which is what I was looking for when wearing a straight leg pant. It did nicely. The heel height was perfect. I chose the 7.5 which is what I normally wear. It really felt good overall but the toe width was not quite wide enough for me. I do have to watch out for the width on shoes. I don't wear a wide but not all shoes will work for me. Unfortunately, that was the only issue I had with this shoe. Once I put on a shoe and walk around for less than 5 minutes I know if I'm going to be able to wear that shoe because my left forefoot will tell me this "ain't working." Otherwise, this shoe would be a keeper. It really did look great with my straight leg pants. If it had worked, I would have ordered the caramel as well. I did compare the width of the Carly Double Zip with my Sacha Moto Shootie as the Shootie has the perfect width for me and I wanted to see the difference in widths. The Shootie definitely has a wider forefoot which is why it works for me. Beautiful shoe though.

I tried very hard to like these boots. After months of searching, I finally found a well-made pair of quality boots, with a low heel and in the color I was craving. These even had a double zipper, which helped me to get them on and off with my extra-high arches and instep. However, these boots were curiously shallow in the toe box--that is, the depth of the leather from sole to leather over the toes was very narrow. This made the boots actually painful to wear, as they put pressure on my moderate bunion. Even without the bunion, they did not allow my toes to have space, were claustrophobic in the toe area, and frankly didn't look nice. The flattened toe area made my feet look longer and flatter than they really are. Also, the sole provides very little padding. They are made of leather in the heel and sole, which is high-quality; however, if you like padding under your feet, these will not suffice. Also, the arch support is non-existent, and the leather insole is not removable for adding your own arch support. Overall, these boots are well-made, from high-quality leather, a beautiful color, but just not comfortable! Might work for someone with narrow, flat feet who has no need for arch support or cushioning.

If you have a narrow foot, your heel will slip out of these. They are soft, supple, stunning black leather. Sole has to be scuffed so you don't slip. Unlike other booties the front lip sits out away from the leg a bit so if you have a thicker calf you may find these a good fit.

This was a beautiful shoe, with rich leather, a lovely heel, and stylish, attractive zippers that made it easy to get into and out of. But even though I desperately wanted to like it--it was 40 percent off and it was the boot of my dreams--I felt uncomfortable in it. The sole was slick leather (no rubber grip strips or anything), and just walking around my hardwood floors I slipped a little. I can imagine what would happen on an icy day. The soles were so stiff that they had no give--in other words, you couldn't possibly stand on your toes because the sole just wouldn't bend at all. And walking around my kitchen for half an hour with a similar looking Johnson and Murphy boot on my left foot and the Frye on my right, I reached a point where I couldn't deny that the right foot was starting to hurt and the left was absolutely comfortable. That did it for me.

I so wanted to love these shoes but the fit was so weird, I had to return them. I have narrow feet (A) and the toe box was tight but the heel was huge. I tried sizing down but it still flopped around like crazy when I took a step.

I wanted to keep these boots, as they are well-made and use high-quality leather, and are lined with leather. Also, the smoke color is just right, a gray-brown taupe color that goes with everything. Also, the double zippers allowed me to get my high-arched feet inside. However, there are three problems. First, there is very little cushioning in the sole, which was uncomfortable for my feet. Second, no arch support. I tried to add an orthotic for my arches, but had to layer it on top of the existing, non-removable footbed. Third, and the biggest problem, the toe box is both narrow and very shallow. My toes were so tightly squeezed, they burned! I tried a half size larger, and the shoe was longer, but neither wider nor deeper. I'm sure this leather would stretch out in the width, but the shallow toe box was unbearable. I could actually feel the leather rubbing against the top of my toes. Because of the lack of depth in the toe area, as well as the fact that it is so narrow, my feet look longer in these boots than in other shoes, which was not a nice look. Not sure if all Frye's are designed this way, but these are. Might be good for someone with narrow, flat feet who doesn't mind having their toes smashed down!

Love the color, it is sort of a grey-taupe. These boots were too tight for me to wear any sort of sock in them and therefore have to return. Easy to slide into, even with a high instep due to the double zippers.

The shoe is very cute, but they have a hard sole and I need a little bit more comfort than that. Unfortunately they were returned.
