I purchased these for my husband, who has neuralgia and is very particular about his shoes. He put these on immediately and it's all I can do to keep him from wearing them for yard chores!

The Birkenstocks Boston are just classic. Wear them at home, wear them at the grocery store. They are stylish and comfortable for walking. Awesome arch support and just incredible cork footbed for which they are best known.
Plus they simply last forever. Not my first pair of Boston’s. That pair is still going strong after 10+ years.

I followed Birkenstock sizing recommendations in order to obtain the proper fit. I also have the Arizona oiled leather, soft footbed sandals. Originally, I didn’t like the styles, but have grown to appreciate the comfort.

I always thought I had a wider foot, but I bought the regular width in these and started wearing them barefooted in June. By September, they were flying off my feet. I later bought a narrow width and have been wearing them for a year and they are still great barefooted. I have worn the regular width with socks for a year, and they're still great. I can wear either pair all day and have no foot or knee pain.

Love the fit and the weathered leather.They were available and I didn't have to wait for Birkenstock clog to be shipped at a later date. LL Bean is a professional company and offers excellent services to their customers.

So the second pair of the Boston Soft Footbed - Oiled Leather that I received after sending the 1st pair back are perfect. They fit well, are comfortable and the arch support area is spot on. The exchange service was seamless and fast.
A word about the 1st pair I returned: They felt way too wide to the point where I had to buckle them at the first hole and even then they were falling off my feet. The metatarsal/arch support in the left shoe was significantly higher than the right and was painful. I wore them for one day and decided to call customer service to return them. Zappo's really does customer service right and the replacement pair are awesome. This is a comfortable style and great manufacturer and I plan on getting another pair soon. Just know that if you wear a medium width you should order these in the "regular" width.

In regular width birks I am a 38, however when I went with the narrow style I had to size up to a 39. The 38 felt shorter in addition to being more narrow. These are my absolute favorite every day shoes. The oiled leather holds up much better than suede and is easy to clean if necessary (I use saddle soap!). They feel a tad firm at first, however they mold to the shape of your foot and are extremely comfortable even for wearing for long periods of time. They go with so many outfits and can look cute and pulled together or they make a great addition to sweatpants and a sweatshirt for the lazy days. I even wear them around the house like slippers! Would definitely recommend.

I bought the mocha color in August of 2023. Have worn them without socks a few times but prefer to wear them with thin socks. The suede upper is very soft and comfy and does stretch with wear. LLBean sells these in the narrow width only so I had to get a size larger than I would take in the regular width. In the Mayari and Gizeh I wear a 36 (in the regular/wide width) but bought these in 37 after trying on 36 and 37 narrow in a local store. The 37 is really a bit too long but the 36 in narrow was painful to my toes. The width in these really is more about the shape of the front of the foot than the volume of the foot. I wish LLBean sold these and other Birks in the regular/wide width. The Birks box has a sizing outline guide which illustrates my point. The footbed shape in narrow does not match the shape of my foot like the regular/wide does. I am a small woman (5' 2" about 105 lbs) but I need the wide width.

I have bones on the side of my feet that need more room -it seems that I may not be normal in that respect.

I've been a Birkenstock hater for a long time. I finally caved and decided to try after being influenced daily. Immediately after wearing I asked myself "why did I wait so long to buy my first pair of Birks"? I then proceeded to wear them 4 days in a row. The Boston is super comfortable and can be styled with so much of my casual wardrobe. I will buy antoher pair!!!

These shoes always deliver. This is my 6th pair of bostons over the last 20 years. When Birkenstock started adding the soft sole to their sandals they changed the game. No break in period?! Now we’re cooking with gas. Love them. Not the most stylish shoe, but I don’t think you can find a more supportive clog out there.
